Review: On February 5 , 2015 I was driving my car home and it started to lose power while I was on the highway by [redacted]. I managed coast into the parking lot of [redacted] and called M [redacted] & Son to see if I had my car towed there, could they tell me whats wrong and give me a price estimate. It was at that time that I spoke to [redacted] at the place of business and he assured me that if I could get the car to the shop, he could tell me what was wrong with it. I then proceeded to contact my insurance company who in turn dispatched a tow truck to [redacted] to pick up my vehicle. I was contacted by [redacted] approximately 2 hours later (3:30pm) and informed me that it was my alternator. I asked him how much it would cost and he said that a used alternator would be $160.00 and a brand new one would be $384.00. After being reassured by Mr. [redacted] that it is common to use a used aIternator, I then asked how much would the total job cost. He informed me that my alternator sits behind my engine thus making the job more difficult and that part and job would be a total of $410.00. I gave him the go ahead to fix my car. Around 5:00 on the same evening, Mr. [redacted] contacted me to inform me his father would not put the money up front to purchase the part. I said to him that I have the money but that I dont get off work until 9:00 pm. He said, Thats fine, I will be in my shop. At approximately 9:06 pm, I received another call from Mr. [redacted] saying, I havent heard from you so I wanted to give you my cell phone number. I repeated that I didnt get off work until 9:00 pm and explained that I was on my way over to the shop. He said, ok! My fiance and I drove to the shop and paid Mr. [redacted] $160.00 for the part. He met us in the parking lot and took the money, but did not give me a receipt. At the time, I didnt feel apprehensive about giving the money to him without a receipt after all this a business and they have my car.The next morning around 8:00, I received yet another call from Mr. [redacted] telling me that his brother went to New York and put my car key somewhere that they could not find it. He said his brother was not answering the phone and he wanted to know if I had another key. Dismayed, I asked him why his brother had my car key when I havent even been dealing with his brother. He reassured me that as soon as his brother answers the phone that the situation would be resolved but in order to start working on my car he would need the key. I explained to Mr. [redacted] that my key has a chip in it and that its very expensive to replace and I cant have him misplacing the one and only back up. He said, No problem. I told him I would bring it over. In the meantime, I started feeling like this perhaps Mr. [redacted] was not being completely honest with me. I couldnt shake the thought of him losing my key and using his brother, whom I have never met or heard of, as an escape got. I was at this point that I called around for prices on a used and new alternator myself. I found and purchased a used one from [redacted] in Milford, DE for $50.00. I also found that a new one was only $185 at the most. I was at this point that I called Mr. [redacted] and told him that I found my alternator and that I would bring it to him and that he could just put the $160 towards repairs. While in route to Mr. [redacted], I made yet another call to [redacted] and got a quote of $78.00 to repair my car. I decided that I didnt want to do business with the [redacted]s anymore, so I had my car insurance dispatch the tow truck company to come back for my car and take it back to [redacted] who in turn fixed my car the same day with the $50.00 alternator that I purchased. I went to [redacted] and told him so and when I questioned him about his prices, he seemed surprised that I had done some leg work on my. He then informed that he had purchased the alternator already and that where he purchased it from will not do refunds. I asked him where he purchased it from, and he said um um um, somewhere out of Greenwood. I asked him the name of the company and he said, um um um I dont know the name off the top of my head. I asked him for the paperwork showing his purchase and he said, um um um, my brother has the paperwork and hes not here. He then said, well I will just take the loss. He said to give him until 6:00 pm that evening and that he will have the money. I said ok. I left and asked my friend to go by and pick up the money at 6:00 because I had to work. Upon arriving at the shop at 6:00, he informed my friend that he didnt have it but would have it the next morning (Saturday). The next morning, I called and the brother answered the phone. I asked for [redacted] and he said [redacted] is at church and he told me he was the brother. I asked if he was the brother who went to New York and misplaced my key. He stated, your key is here somewhere, just misplaced. I informed him that [redacted] owed me $160.00 and explained the events to him. He said that he would let [redacted] know that I called and he took my phone number. Sunday I stopped by and [redacted] son was there. He said he would tell his dad that I stopped by because he was in church. Monday, I called the shop and [redacted] answered the phone, he went on to inform me that he gets paid $250.00 a week and asked me could he pay me $50.00 a week. I said ok, but that I wanted it in writing that he will pay me that amount weekly until its paid and if by the time he finished paying me back the money and my key was not found, that he would pay to replace my key as well. He agreed. I said that I would be there at 1:00 pm for the letter. When I arrived, he met me outside with a handwritten note, (not in his writing and not signed). I told him he needed to sign the note and he did. Come Friday (February 13, 2015) I sent my friend to get the money and [redacted] says to him that he didnt realize that it was Valentines weekend and that he wanted to do something nice forDesired Settlement: I want my money back and my car key

Review: On feb 16 2015 I was on my to Mr. [redacted] shop with a busted oil pan. On my way to the shop my motor went out and had to get it towed to him. He told me I needed a new motor that he'll get for me, a used one for 800$ and he'll charge me 800$ to put it in. He told me it will take a day for the motor to come in and 3-5 days to put in and my car will be running like it was. Though out the period of two months I called several times trying find out whats going on, he gets fed up and tells me the car is done but it has a misfire because its a bad motor and I would have to call the guy and it would be 900$ instead of the 800$ that was told. So I picked the car up and paid the 900$ cause I needed my car. As I leaving the shop it not a little misfire its s big one with the car not driving past 30 mph. So I gives the guy a call which I feel like was not my job and he tells me bring him the car and if the motor bad he would put another one in for free. He calls back a couple days later saying the motor good and its a electrical problem from a wire while the motor was being place in. My car has never had electrical problems. I then took my car to three other mechanics with all saying the same thing even paying for the services. My car was siting at another shop and I called and I called Mr. [redacted] to let him know and he said they dont know what they talking bout they just trying get money bring the car back to me. The car sat for another month, I call to find out whats going on, and he tells me what all three mechanics told me it was a electrical problem and he says I dont know what to tell you. He then states that his job was to put the motor in, but all three mechanics told me it was a mechanic error while putting the motor in. Today is June 29 its been over four months with no vehicle and just want and need this resolve.Desired Settlement: Full refund, I gave this business over four months with time and lots of money lost.

Mr. [redacted] did come to shop and wanted to know what it would cost to remove and replace a motor in his car. [redacted] gave him a price _of purchasing a used motor of $800.00 and $1000.00 to place in vehicle. While the motor was out new plugs and some hoses were replaced as a preventive measure. This cost was about $100.00 more. After the motor was installed the motor had a miss init and [redacted] called [redacted]which the motor was purchased and requested a replacement motor.[redacted] said to have the customer Mr. [redacted] bring the vehicle to them and theywould replace the motor so Mr.[redacted] would not have to pay again.[redacted] told Mr.[redacted] to take the car to someone he knew to have it looked at. Mr.[redacted] told [redacted]this place ransome wire andthe motor ranfine. If he had the motor running fine why would you take apart the fix?[redacted] has done many removals and replacements with not issues, the wirijng harness is in a cluster of wires with plugs to reconnect to their proper places. There are times when the motors are not good and need to be replaced with another and [redacted] has replaced.A full refund is out of the question and if a wire was ran and the car ran find and that service was paid for that shop should have allowed the fix to stay in place. [redacted] did what he said he would do remove and replace a motor.Mr. [redacted] bill was $1100.00 and there is a balance of $179.00,so if a wire was a fix Mr. [redacted] should use this to have wire reattached
