Suspision arose. Before he left,we discussed a 2nd coat was needed. Wall is very splotchy and looks terrible. Said he would come Saturday or Monday. However, the following day, my wife went to vaccuum the stairs and noticed he spilled red paint all over the carpet. I called him and he acted as if he had no idea what I was talking about. He showed up this morning at 10am to clean carpet and finish the job. His carpet shampooing device did not remove the red paint on the carpet. I asked him what he would do and he got frustrated and took his ladder out to his truck and was getting ready to leave. I went out to talk with him. I told him this was very unprofessional of him and he claimed I was treating him unfairly because his English isn't so well. I told him that isn't true. It's about being professinal and having work ethics. Now, my wall is a mess and red paint on my carpet. He said the reason he didn't tell us Friday before he left was because he wasn't finished with the job and he was going to fix it. He called his wife and my wife spoke to her. I offered to pay him to borrow his ladder so I could paint it. He refused. After 30 minutes of phone passing back and forth, and in the end, my wife told his wife that either they replace the carpet or we want a full refund, which still wouldn't cover completion of his project. She told his wife that we are very upset because he never told us and now we have to hire another professional painter to finish his mess, which isn't at all fair. He (the painter) said he didn't want to be responsible for anything else happening to our home. People are human and mistakes happen but be honest!This is not ok.
