Review: Falsely stating car damage with a high estimate for repair. Verified false when taken to a secondary repair shop.

I brought my car to [redacted] at 63,000 miles for front brake repair. They said my rear brakes were worse then front and both needed replacing. I paid them to complete the repairs with a warranty of parts.

At 85,000 miles my rear breaks began squealing so I brought my car back to [redacted] for warranty repair. They told me that my calipers, rotors and brake pads needed replacing at a cost of $1200.

I took my car to a second shop and found out my car only needed rear brake pads. They could not believe that they had been replaced so recently as the wear on them was consistent with 85,000 miles driving.

I called the manager at [redacted] and asked him to rectify this and he told me that he would do nothing.Desired Settlement: I would like to be reimbursed by [redacted] the $400. I am paying [redacted] to replace my rear brake pads as they were under warranty with [redacted].

Review: On June 17, 2011 I had my truck painted at the MAACO in [redacted], PA. I had a year warranty on the paint job. Within that year the hood of my truck was peeling and bubbling paint. Bill the owner of the location honored the warranty and repainted my hood in October of 2012 and warrantied it for a year again. We waited until October because the car show season would be over. Within this year the hood began to bubble and peel again. Unfortunatley the MAACO location I had my truck painted at has closed down since my work was done. I contacted the MAACO home office to address this situation. Because I called at the end of their working hours they took my information and opened a claim. I received a call back on October 9th but missed the call. I tried calling back and leaving voicemails 4 more times between October 9th and October 21st. With no avail. The problem is the prep work done to the vehicle and the paint not adhering to the surface of the truck. This has cost me lots of excess money due to the vehicle being used as a show truck for the charity car club I run. I have had to replace expensive graphics that were on the hood when it was redone the first time and now again when I get it redone again. These graphics however are not near the areas in question and have no effect on the paint as I waited 4 months before applying them. This is a month longer than instructed to wait by Bill the owner and my graphics designer.Desired Settlement: I would like the hood stripped and repainted properly.

Response:

We have been in contact with **. [redacted] and because the center he originally had his work performed at is closed, we have referred him to our [redacted], PA location. The [redacted] location will assess his hood to determine the cause of his bubbling and peeling and if it is a result of Maaco's workmanship they will perform any repairs to the hood under warranty.
