The paint does have a year warranty but there is nothing wrong with the paintThe problem is with the body damage that was done to the vehicle prior to paint by the customerThe customer was informed of the damage at the time of estimate and declined repairsAlso the customer was given the
opportunity to inspect the vehicle on Oct at time of pick up and signed a release stating that she has inspected the vehicle and is satisfied that the shop has completed the services on the repair orderMs*** was informed of the problems with the vehicle and even shown the vehicle throughout the process to keep her informedWe do agree that we did take days to do the paint service and did give her an estimated time of 5days but she was informed along the way of the delaysAlso as stated in our warranty that was issued to Ms*** she did have days after picking up her vehicle to fully examine the work and bring any concerns to our attention, but this did not happenAgain there is no warranty issue with Ms***'s vehicle and if there is in the future we would be willing to revisit the issue

As stated on the customers original paperworkThe vehicle was very rough and the customer had damaged the vehicles surface by doing their own prep workWe did sand and prime the vehicle as stated on the repair order and if the customer would like to sand down the finish, which would ruin the
current paint he can see that there is a tan layer of epoxy primerThe primer was intended and sold as a economical way to partially cover the damage the customer had done to the vehicle prior to bringing it inThe customer was informed from the beginning that this would not completely repair the damage and that imperfections in the body and finish would still be present in the end, but it was the most economical way to try and repair the damage for the customer and maintain there predetermined budgetThe customer was asked to leave when he and his companion became very hostile and started yelling profanityWe will not be refunding the customer or repainting the vehicle, we were very clear to set the proper expectations on the completed vehicle with the customer and clearly stated that due to the damaged done to the finish by the customer prior to us receiving the vehicle and the customers limited budget there was only so much we could do

We do understand that [redacted] may have taken the vehicle to another shop and they may think the job is not complete or substandard but they did not see the vehicle prior and were not there when the estimate and work was agreed upon. [redacted] was fully aware of the flaws in the vehicle and we were very clear to set very low expectations on this vehicle due to the damage done by the owner and the budget allotted for the repaint. As for examining the vehicle [redacted] inspected it prior to paying for it with [redacted] and was very pleased due to the prior condition of the vehicle. Also when he brought it back for the concerns that his friend had found [redacted] inspected it again and only told [redacted] to leave after he became hostile and started using profanity directed at [redacted]. We are very aware and are not claiming that [redacted] may have photos of his vehicle but we do question at what state those photos were taken. Either before or after [redacted] attempted to strip the paint off of the vehicle with a pocket knife? Again the estimate and expectations were very clear on this vehicle prior to the repaint and we will not be repainting this vehicle.

I am rejecting this response because:  My pain complaint is about the paint job itself. Its full of fisheyes and dirt. The car was not completely painted or primed. The paint on the front of the car is so thin you can see the old primer through it. The car is a corvette and the bumpers are fiberglass they were not painted completely. The edges of the fenders and T-tops were not painted.  I paid extra for sanding and primer.  The door jams were not sanded or cleaned . They sprayed over dirt and grease. There is over spray on the chrome ,windshield, wipers and tires.  There was so much over spray on the tires the painted the left front tire black. I took the car to a different body shop and the painter  agreed it is a terrible paint job. when I took the car back [redacted] was rude and yelling. He would not take the time to even look at the car. We were told to leave. If [redacted] would take the time to look at the car and be honest he would have a admit it a terrible paint job. I do have pictures of before and after. Thank you
Sincerely,
[redacted]

[redacted] did have $1500.00 worth of repair and repaint done to his vehicle that was completed and picked up on Sept. 18, 2017. He did return on Wednesday Oct 11, 2017 for what he described as minor overspray. We looked at the vehicle with him and did explain that some of the overspray was...

unavoidable due to the repair process that he had chosen. At that time he became very angry and started yelling at both [redacted] and I and using profanity. We finally got him settled down and agreed that there was a spot on the left fender that needed to be addressed and we would also do our best to clean the minor overspray off that he had issue with. [redacted] at this time also stated that he had issue with the way the front bumper fit. It was explained to him that he had provided us with his own substandard aftermarket parts and that we had done everything we could to make them fit at the time of the original repair and we would not be able to do anything else with the bumper. [redacted] was phoned on Wednesday afternoon and informed that his vehicle was ready to be picked up. He arrived and 5:30pm so we pulled his vehicle back out since we were already closed for the day. At that time I walked around the complete vehicle with him so he could inspect the repaint of the Left fender and the overspray that had been cleaned up for him. [redacted] at that time seemed to be satisfied with the repaint and clean up work, although still upset with the fit of the front bumper. On Friday Oct. 13, 2017 [redacted] returned and was upset at the damage he admitted to doing to his right fender and right front door. I was making an attempt to push his damaged fender out so that he could open his door again when he started blaming [redacted] for damaging his vehicle and yelling and cursing at me. At that time I backed away from him and his vehicle since he was coming at me and told him I would no longer be helping him and to have a nice day. I can't speak for [redacted] about his interaction with our national customer service line and have no control over what they do. I also realize that my description does vary from his opinion on what took place but I also have multiple coworkers who did witness his hostile actions. At this time I do not feel that it is our responsibility to repair damage that [redacted] did to his own vehicle and I do not wish to help him in light of his last actions towards me personally.
