Review: Purchased a defective hood for my Polaris Razor 08, when driving down the street the hood flew off when I went over 45 mph. Maier wont sent new one.
Maier wont replace a brand new hood that was purchased from [redacted] racing group less than 2 weeks ago. Hood is clearly defective since a stock hood that was replaced did not fly off like the new one. Talked to [redacted] and he was little help and did not want to do anything about it. Blames the vehicle itself. Very poor customer service.Desired Settlement: Brand new hood shipped to my home no charge, I refuse to ship old hood to them because I would have to pay for shipping and would like just get the defective hood back.

Our thermoformed products carry a one year warranty from date of purchase. We offered to inspect [redacted] hood for manufacturers defects. Our policy is to physically inspect any said product before replacing any item for warranty. We also require a copy of a dated sales receipt to verify the products purchase date.
[redacted] sent 3 poor quality images to my personal cell phone after his failed attempt to send the images to our corporate email address. I told him we need to have the hood in hand for inspection. [redacted] was not pleased with the fact I wouldn't just blindly send him free product. I have no idea if the hood he pictured is even his to begin with.
[redacted] then proceeded to send expletive remarks to my personal cell phone number. My cell number was given to him as a courtesy because he could not figure out how to email the images. I referred him back to our 800 number and email but he continued with his personal attacks via my cell phone.
At Maier we stand behind our products and take pride in our customer service. There is no way of knowing if [redacted] installed his hood correctly to begin with. In any event, it sound like his hood is scratched now and [redacted] is unhappy about that.
Our offer to inspect his product for manufacturers defects sill stands. If deemed defective we will replace his item free of charge.

Our offer to inspect the hood for any manufacturers defects still stands. The hood will be replaced if found to be defective. We must inspect the part before we can replace it.
We have sold hundreds and hundreds of these hoods and have not had any problems with the hood staying on. It is possible for the hood to fly off if it is not properly installed and latched. This would also be the case with the stock hood.
