This is the most horrible company you can have young adult test at. They are very intimidating and rude to the young driver being tested. Its a money scam. It was such a horrible experience for my daughter I don't know if she will ever drive again. Alaskan parent please go through DMV my older children tested with DMV and it was awesome. The so called instructor left the car very fast and once I was back in the car my daughter was in tears and she is my child who never cries. It took me hours to calm her down. Please to all alaska parents don't go through this company.
I am so thoroughly disappointed in my experience with this business. While not necessarily unpleasant, the staff member that I had assigned to me was EXTREMELY nit picky and unforgiving for reasons that were frankly ridiculous (counting points against me for people cutting me off, making a complete stop and then moving forward slightly to see past foliage/a sign that obscured view of the road, people speeding past the front of me when I have the right of way, not yielding properly, considering 2 MPH over the speed limit to be an automatic fail). The highway the test is on is notorious for that kind of thing and due to other drivers’ negligence, I could only do what I could in response to avoid an accident (that would be their fault). Counting that against the “test-ee” is just downright stupid.
Due to no other choice, I gave this place a few shots and I regret even spending a penny here, let alone 50 BUCKS a pop. Yes, you read that right. $50 for about 30 min of work in a POV, not even one that is provided for the test. Complete waste of time, money, and effort.
The fail rate is extremely high and I’m pretty sure the reason is to do with how much cash they can draw out of desperate people who can’t wait for the DMV or kids/parents who don’t know any better. I’m sure if you spent the $700 or so to do their course along with the road test, they’d probably have no problem passing you. Otherwise, don’t even bother. I’m never using this company again and I’m warning everyone around me of just how awful my experience was. Waiting the extra time for the DMV testers or going with another third party is worth it if it means avoiding this place.
I am terribly sorry to hear about your experience but unfortunately we at the *** Manny's Drivers Ed have had no interaction with you. What I do recommend is that if you have a problem with the testing protocol that you first read through the DMV manual then contact the DMV.
In reading your review I notice that you admit that you were over the speed limit and that is illegal. Each third party testing site examiner must undergo training with DMV personnel and are required to follow the guidelines set by the State of Alaska Department of Motor Vehicles; examiners are also required to use the DMV scoring rubric that the state provides each third party site. I wish you good luck and safe driving.
OP here- My bad, I meant to say that she had CLAIMED that I went 2 mph over the speed limit (I have a manual speedometer so that makes no sense, the needle would’ve still been on 25 because in my experience with the vehicle a tiny shift like that wouldn’t really show). And I didn’t realize that this was the ER page, this review was for Wasilla.
