Maready's Plumbing

We purchased our home in July of 2009 from [redacted]. Maready Plumbing was the plumbing company that was contracted to completed all plumbing in our home. In October of 2010 in the middle of the night, the hose for the fill tank for the toilet on the lower level of our home randomly came disconnected while everyone in our home was sleeping causing the entire level of our home to flood. Carpets had to be replaced, cabinets and base boards were damaged. This was the result of the plumbing company using a cheap grade $0.16 plastic piece inside the tank that randomly disconnected. For $0.32 each, I replaced each plastic piece in all three toilets. I also had to replace all of the carpet in my lower level.This past week, we walked into the kitchen and discovered water dripping from the ceiling. After cutting a hole in the ceiling, we discovered that the water was leaking from the shower drain. Upon further investigation, we determined that the plumber neglected to put the rubber gasket in between the PVC pieces. When we unscrewed the piping, all we found was old, cruddy caulking that was not stopping any water from leaking. We fixed the shower and are leaving the hole to dry out.In all fairness to the plumber and in hopes that he would take responsibility for his mistakes, I called to tell him I was having problems and was going to file a report. I spoke to [redacted] and was cussed at several times. I was told that I have lived in this house for 10 years, this is not possible as this house was built in 2009, and he continues to take no responsibility. He claims I should have called him so he could come to fix it and then tried to tell me that I should have installed another new drain and I should expect the drain to go bad after a while. Basically, I could PAY him to fix his mistakes. Then he tried to claim that he might not even have worked on my house. This is a man you cannot get a straight answer from and I am still out several thousand for his shabby work and foul mouth.Desired SettlementI know it is unlikely that this man will ever pay for the mess he has created in my house. In a perfect world, I would like him to pay for problems he has caused.However, at this point, I think there needs to be some follow-up on the poor workmanship that this man leaving behind. He claims that there have been no other complaints but I know for a fact that the ceiling in the house next door to us fell in from plumbing problems.
