We tried to explain to the home owner that you should not combine vents together, they work against each other (we did not charge them for Ridge vent). We took off all old roofing and replaced all roofing per code with 3' of Ice Barrier on all...

edges and in valleys. The homeowner was present during all removal of the old roofing and during the replacement of the new roofing with a limited life time warranty shingle. They had picked out the color and agreed to the shingles. We would have went back in 3 days as we told them but they called someone else. They have sofit vents and gable vents and now ridge vents also. This will void any leakage warranty because now snow and rain maybe sucked in during high winds. I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. September 27, 2016 We called [redacted] four times and were given three different dates that they were to return.  He did not respond to our last call.  After two weeks had gone by, we hired another roofing company to correct the problem because it needed immediate attention.  As the other roofer installed the ridge vents, the attic was so hot that you could see the heat rising through the vents. The
original estimate that we requested included the same ridge vents that
we had on the house, and the final receipt included “new ventilation at
peak.”  We paid for that and did not receive it. We have had ridge roof vents for 25 years, went through the labor day storm, and never had a problem with that roof.  Almost every house on our street and in our area has ridge roof vents. The gable and soffits were not functional, and they did not check that, so we were left with no ventilation at all.  I informed [redacted] that there was heat coming down from the attic like a blast furnace with condensation on the ceiling.  It was a situation that needed to be given immediate attention. On the work order it includes "new ventilation at peak."  They did not install any new ventilation.
