Review: I took my car into Marvin's Quality Auto Care to replace the intake manifold so that my car can pass smog. After putting down a $500.00 down payment with $300.00 to be paid within three months I left my car with Marvin with confidence that it would be repaired correctly. After about a week of it being in his shop he notified us that we needed a new EGR Valve. I went in that same day and paid another $200.00 for a new one. After I paid he realized that the wire was not attached to the valve incorrectly but still continued to put on the new valve and take the money. After that we still did not get the car back that day. When we were able to finally get our car back it started to leak oil and would not start when my fiance was trying to leave work. So we took it back in so that he could fix his mistake then is when he promised to not charge us anymore for it was his mistake to fix. We are now on the third week of not having our car. He has contacted us to notify me that we would need a new Catalytic Converter and that he would take care of it. When my fiance called today to get an update on the car he told us that it would be another week before he could finish because he could not afford the part. I am currently in the process of joining the Military and my only wish it to be able to leave my fiance with the reliable car that we had before this mix up so that she can make it to work and school with no problems. I am not asking for a refund or a settlement I just want the matter resolved in a timely manner. Myself and my fiance are unable to be late or miss anymore work days for we cannot afford it.Desired Settlement: For my car to be repaired in a timely manner. If he is not confident in himself I would like for him to pay for it to be fixed elsewhere.
Business
Response:
Company states that Tyler brought his car in and after inspection it was found the intake gasket was blown. The check engine light was also on and it needed an EGR value. The car had one problem after another. Please keep in mind that the car has 200,000 miles on it. Repairs have since been approved.
