Media Behavior Institute Reviews (1)

Review: This is a survey company who had originally, months ago, sent a person to my house to do a in-person survey where I was paid $60. They kept my information and more recently offered me a chance to do another survey, this time for $200, where they would send a phone with an app (USA Touchpoints App) installed on it and I would answer surveys, once every half-hour of the day, for 10 days (May[redacted] - June [redacted]). I agreed and went through with it for the full 10 days, and then sent their phone back to them. Nobody from the company called or contacted me since then, until I decided to call USA Touchpoints today and inquire why no one had done so. They told me that the funds for the survey had been cut by Media Behavior Institute and I would have to contact them. I wrote an e-mail and left a voicemail and haven't heard back from Media Behavior Institute, but the people at USA Touchpoints pretty much told me I'm up a creek. This seems like false advertisement to me, if that's the proper term. I provided an agreed upon service and all they did was hose me. I am currently a college student, so every bit helps. I feel very cheated and wronged.Desired Settlement: The 200 dollars.

Response:

At this time, I have been contacted directly by Media Behavior Institute regarding complaint ID [redacted], however my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

I have still not received the $200 payment I was offered for the completion of the survey, a month and a half after completion of said survey.

Media Behavior Institute responded to me with this e-mail on July [redacted], but the issue has still not been resolved:

"Thanks for your inquiry, and we are truly sorry for the disturbance. We anticipate resolving this issue within the next two weeks. Our primary focus will be rectifying your claim and hope to do so in the near future."

In order for the Revdex.com to appropriately process your response, you MUST answer the question above.

[redacted]:

Confirming our earlier conversation, Media Behavior Institute (MBI) ceased operations last month. I was retained on July *, 2013 to wind-down its’ operations. MBI retained two outside service providers to conduct research in which [redacted] participated. In [redacted]’s case, I believe he was engaged by Luth Research, LLC (Luth), [redacted], Phone: [redacted]. Luth is the party responsible for paying the participants. As part of its’ wind-down, MBI set funds aside to pay the participants. MBI has asked Luth for assurance that the moneys that MBI pays Luth will be used to pay the participants. Luth has at this time refused to give such assurance. MBI has no way of verifying if in-fact [redacted] fulfilled his responsibilities as those records are maintained by Luth and therefore Luth is responsible for making payments.

Additionally, when he called USA Touchpoints, I am curious as to who at USA Touchpoints told him he was “up a creek”.

Very truly yours,
