Vehicle traded as "had been involved in an accident". Vehicle advertised as "never been in an accident".Traded in 2014 Mazda6 after having $5,700 claim payed by insurance company for accident. Informed salesperson that the vehicle had been involved in an accident. On the form he was completing, he marked "No" for the question about an accident. Amount allowed for trade-in was considerably lower because of the accident. Trade in was #13,500. Vehicle now being advertised on the internet and through a verbal communication with a salesman at the dealership that the car had never been involved in an accident. All of this occurred on 6-23-16. I purchased a vehicle less than 3 months ago. In that time my check engine light has come on and I have broken down at the gas station.It has been less than 3 months (2 payments) since I purchased my new used vehicle. In that time I have had my evap engine light come on and my car has broken down at the gas station. I called the dealership was told to bring it in. I was not told at the time that it would be 75.00 to look at it only that it was their job to take care of me. Only upon my arrival at the dealership was I told abut the cost. I have spoken to the GM of Medlin who told me "cars break, that's just how it is." I was called the following day and told that my gas tank had a leak and it was depressurizing as a result. The repair was going to cost 427 plus tax and SHOCKER it was not covered under any of the multiple warranties that I was given or purchased. Personally, the treatment I received at Medlin during this issue was ridiculous. I paid a lot of money for this vehicle and I am increasingly upset that I am locked into a 5 year loan and 2 months in I have broken down and my vehicle will not pass a state inspection. And Medlin treated me as though my concerns did not matter as though I did not matter. I am beginning to suspect that Medlin failed to fix the issue with the vehicle before I purchased it merely turned the check engine light off. Since there were only authorized to tell me what was wrong with the vehicle not fix anything and when I received my vehicle back the check engine light was miraculously off.Desired SettlementI have taken my vehicle to a reputable mechanic for the repairs. I feel as though I was lied to by Medlin about the condition of this vehicle and that they should reimburse me for the cost of repairs on this would be lemon.Business Response /[redacted]/Working in the car business I know how upsetting it can be when your vehicle becomes in need of repair. While we do a thorough inspection on the used vehicles we sell, unfortunately that doesn't mean that something won't fail in the future. In this case a little over 3 months had passed.We try to work with all of our customers to see to their satisfaction. However the last thing we were told by the customer was that she was coming to pick up the car and let us know what she was going to do. We did not hear anything back from her until she wrote comments on Facebook and to the Revdex.com. We are sympathetic to her problems but considering she did buy a higher mileage vehicle that was sold 'As Is" and the fact that she did not give us the opportunity to resolve her issues we respectfully decline to pay her repair bill.Consumer Response /[redacted]/I have spoken with multiple people at the dealership since my complaint was filed. I have received nothing from the dealership other than the offer to potentially trade in the vehicle. While this is something I am interested in doing I have been unable to get the vehicle to the dealership as it has been in the repair shop for a variety of issues for the last 2 weeks. I kindly appreciate the "wonderful" service I have been given from MedlinBuick... it truly warmed my heart that the general manager thought so much of my purchase and my troubles that he called me back right after I dropped my vehicle off at the dealership and he shared the memorable anecdote "cars break, that's life." Inspires all kinds of warm and fuzzy feelings about how much Medlin cares doesn't it?! I know that that is what I was feeling when I broke down for the second time, this time with my 6 month old daughter in the car. So I appreciate your response, I expected nothing different from your dealership or employees given the horrific customer service I have experienced since this issue began, thank you for proving me right and I will be sure to take my next 50 years or so of car purchases to another dealership. The service department at [redacted] in Zebulon has been amazing. And the vehicle is running fantastic, certainly better than the day I got it. I no longer break down when refueling my vehicle. Which is wonderful! As far as this complaint is concerned I plan to chalk it up to a learning experience to never have dealings with a Medlin dealership again.
