Thank you for alerting us to the customer's complaintWe have been in business for almost years in the same location and to the best of our recollection we believe we do not have any other complaints other than this one
As to this
particular complaint, we are absolutely 100% sure that the watch in question already had the small crack that the customer is complaining about when she came in the first time to have her battery changedOur employee who changed the battery saw the crack prior to opening the watch but we had a store full of people and were very busy and unfortunately the information did not get relayed to Mrs ***Her watch required no tools or presses to reattach the back case cover after a battery changeThe customer mentioned to us that she would have noticed it because she was a mathematicianWe are not certain what being a mathematician has to do with good eyesightThe crack was very small and better viewed through magnificationAs a side note you would expect a mathematician to be more accurate with numbersThe charge for her battery was $8.45, not under $as she claimed in her statement
In examining the watch after she brought it back we noticed a small chip as well in the bottom right corner of the rectangular crystal, opposite the crack she complained ofWe then called Mrs*** to point out that there is an additional imperfection in her crystal at which time she said " You Know what, I will just come in and pick up the watch" refusing to continue the conversation
Over the years we have done thousands of crystal replacements on watchesOften time people are not aware of small dents and chips that occur over the course of wearing a watchWe feel quite certain this is the case hereIn light of the fact that Mrs *** has expressed a lack of confidence in our ability to satisfy her, and our certainty in not having caused the crack we feel no obligation to reimburse her
