MICHAEL'S HEATING & AIR CONDITIONING Reviews (6)

February 27, 2017                                      ... From: [redacted] Owner: Michael’s Heating and...

Air Conditioning To: Whom it may concern . The actual subject of Mr. [redacted] complaint was a missing condensate tube I inadvertently forgot to install. This has since been fixed and took me 30 minutes.        .Mr. [redacted] knew I had been sick but did not know I had been admitted to the hospital with pneumonia. When I got home I found a nasty voice mail on my phone telling me that if I did not call he would get someone else to do it. Needless to say I assumed he did that. The job had taken much longer than expected (2 weeks not 3) because unknown to me, the fireplace operated on natural gas and much more gas pipe had to be installed which is very time consuming. Mr. [redacted] also contacted a plumber to (I guess) inspect my work who by the way said the job was done very well but " I did not need to do all of this extra work" I’ve been in this business 30 years and believe me this is the way its done. The manufacturer requires it and I would not do it any other way. That's why plumbers do not size and install gas pipe.  As far as “getting there when I get there”, Mr. [redacted] failed to report that much of this was do to working around his granddaughter’s activities.   I really don’t know what is meant by checking installation manual for various information because I didn’t even have that with me. Even so, I think most people refer to various reference materials every day while performing there jobs. So this comment would be a non issue to say the least. .   Mr [redacted] had researched and requested what equipment he required. He never in any way said he wanted instantaneous  hot water. One would think that after as much research as he had done, that he would request the optional instantaneous feature.  My own research was that I was trying to figure out how to do this cheaper without the additional 1500.00 cost. I can tell you that the installation he got was very high quality. One that I was actually proud of and to attack someone’s work and business Is uncalled for. It was within my rights to issue a change and charge for the extra work but I elected not to. I ate the extra costs. I’m also assuming that the plumber he had check my job was also hired to program the schedules in so that he may get hot water faster then he was. I guess he is not happy with how that turned out.        Sincerely,   [redacted]

Review: I purchased a mobile home air conditioning system and added a heating pack a couple of months. It is not working correctly and is repairable under warranty. We have had to call them out several times for installation problems in the past. After much effort we got Michaels to complete the installation properly but the unit has stopped working and has at least a year warranty. I believe it has been fewer than 6-7 months after the installation and it has stopped working. I have called on numerous occasions with no success of getting somebody to even talk to me.Desired Settlement: Either repair the unit or give us a full refund including installation charges. I would prefer it to be fixed correctly and made fully operational.

Review: We paid $400 for an annual maintenance agreement for our heating and air-conditioning. Payment was made in full on January 24, 2013. Since that time, I have not been able to contact the company, and have left repeated messages. We have had no service for the entire year.Desired Settlement: I would like reimbursement for services that have not been done.

Review: I entered into a service contract with Michael's Heating and Air Conditioning. Attempts to contact the company have failed. Initially, when attempting to leave a message with its answering service, the messaging system went into a loop, and now the phone is disconnected. There is still a year's worth of service left in the contract.Desired Settlement: Refund of payment made for the service agreement.

Review: Michael's Heating & Air installed a brand new heat pump at my residence in early July of 2012. There were a few problems from the beginning that necessitated 5 separate service calls before the end of the year was even out, but they were dealt with in a slow but eventually acceptable manner. Both my landlord ([redacted]) and myself have been trying to reach the company and [redacted],the owner, since late January however with no luck. Since that time, I have had heat only if my heat pump was set to the emergency setting. This caused me to have electric bills 3-4 times higher than they should have been. I was willing to overlook even that... but now I have NO air conditioning and my house is over 100 degrees during the day and my child and pets are seriously suffering.Desired Settlement: The heat pump is currently still covered under warranty to my knowledge. If Michael's and [redacted] do not want to honor that warranty and repair it, I would like for them to arrange payment in full with someone that will. I really need this settled quickly as it has become a health issue. If some type of service or a refund that would completely cover that service cannot be made very soon, I will need to explore how else I might recoup any money spent to fix the problem and make my house livable and also ask for damages to cover my inflated heating bills from the winter and any expenses that I incur in keeping my family safe as well as the costs involved in getting the heat pump inspected and repaired.

Review: On May25-29 20012 Michaels's HVAC repaired my AC unit by replacing the compressor. The cost was $2,909.00. This summer the unit want's working so I called them and they did not answer the phone. I called another AC company who came to the house and said "The compressor was never replaced it was the original unit installed in 2005." Bottom line: they change me 3K to replace my AC compressor and did not replace it.Desired Settlement: Full refund to the $2,909.00.
