Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and although I do not agree with his statement,we can agree to disagree, and as long as do actually receive the refund in a few days to my credit card, I find that this resolution is satisfactory to me and the matter has been resolved.
Sincerely,

Review: I first went to Michael's Music store last year and I rented a French Horn, brand new mouth piece and music book. I spent over $300. Then, in addition, I took my son there for weekly music lessons to get him acclimated with the instrument over the summer. When the school year began to my dismay I was informed that due to budget issues my son's grade would not be able to play in band for that year.

I never bothered [redacted] to try to return the now useless instrument because of the No Refund policy stated on my invoice. So I took the LOSS and Michael PROFITED from that situation. I returned the instrument unused at the end of the school year as per my contract. [redacted] informed me that he WAS made aware of the budget cut at my son's school and offered me a small discount if I rented from him the following school year.

I, in fact, went back to Michael's Music this school year to rent a Double French Horn for my son to play for 5th grade. I told the two clerks present on the day I rented the horn that I specifically needed a Double French Horn (which was written on the paper from the music teacher) and as far as I knew, that's what they gave me, only to find out from the teacher the next day that it was a Single French Horn. I then contacted the [redacted] to inform him of this mishap thinking I would just go and switch it out only to find out that he does not rent Double French Horns nor does he give refunds. However, this is a different circumstance because had I been informed by his staff that they did not carry DOUBLE French Horns, I would have LEFT and I would NOT have rented the wrong instrument to lose money from him AGAIN!!! [redacted] has a very distorted way of seeing things and is a horrible business man in terms of customer service and/or retention!! He claims that I never mentioned a "Double" to him when we spoke briefly over the phone but that conversation was STRICTLY regarding the discounted price he stated he would give in light of the prior year's events where he profited from the budget cut situation. I simply called before coming down to refresh his recollection of who I was and what he had said. Once he stated that he remembered and quoted me a price that was the extent of that exchange between him and I. We did not go into ANY details or particulars other than that regarding price!!

And in any event, HE, BEING THE EXPERT ON INSTRUMENTS, NEVER mentioned a SINGLE either!!! MOST professionals that know what they are doing and are not trying to mislead or misrepresent anything will ASK a patron up front, Do you need a Single or a Double? ESPECIALLY if they only carry one of the two and they are apparently two different prices to rent!!!

Anyway, after being hung up on and screamed at over the phone by this man, I had to bring my husband down to the store and after arguing with this very rude and disrespectful [redacted], he eventually agreed to give us a refund HOWEVER turned around and charged us $25 PLUS TAX for a RESTOCKING FEE?!?!? Are you kidding me??? The clerk that rented us the instrument was there and even ADMITTED to [redacted] that we asked for a Double French Horn and he proceeded to scream at the employee and sent him to the back of the store while he "dealt" with us as if we were the problem?!?! This is a small business storefront. I've never heard of a restocking fee for something like this? I rented the instrument on a Tuesday and returned it on a Saturday. So basically in addition to his lack of courtesy, rudeness and disrespect, I paid $25 PUS TAX for the INCOMPETENCE of his staff/workers that apparently do not know the difference between a Single and Double French Horn?!? This was the most sordid, dishonorable, and disreputable experience I've ever had at a local business!! No wonder the school DOES NOT refer nor do they LIST him as a vendor to patronize. It's because of his shady practices!!! I had to find out the hard way. So sad that this is the way he chooses to treat the local residents and the community that he serves. I will NEVER go back there again and my son will be playing instruments for the next 7 years. Not a smart man!Desired Settlement: I do not feel we should have to pay for asking for one thing and receiving the wrong item. That is a lack of training or what have you but it is not the customer's fault. I would like the $25 plus tax to be credited back to my account or given back to me in cash!!
