positioning devices for the physically disabled can be a challenging undertaking. This is certainly true when the physical needs of a client change over time. To address this customer's current positioning issues, Lockport Home Medical has ordered two components. This client has experienced discomfort with lower extremity positioning.  The foot positioning plates recommended to increase comfort are custom and take a considerable amount of time to manufacture since they are not "off the shelf" components. These custom footplates are due to arrive in approximately two weeks. A new positioning and skin protection seat cushion has been ordered to provide additional comfort. Prior to the submitted complaint, our seating and mobility specialist visited with the client and explained the proposed resolution in detail with courtesy and respect. At this time, the powerchair is operating without fail.  When the customer requested a new joystick, they were quoted a price of $579.37, not the $700.00 noted in the complaint.  A new joystick is not required at this time. An appointment had been made for Tuesday, May 19, 2015 for delivery of the cushion.  However, at the customer's request, this appointment will be rescheduled when footplates arrive.  Lockport Home Medical will continue to make every effort within our ability to meet this customer's needs.
