I ordered 4 platters from the Today Show's "Steals & Deals". One of the platters was enamel over aluminum. When we received the platter the enamel is separating from the metal. It is as thin as a potato chip, rising up above the edge of the aluminum. I'm afraid to touch the enamel for fear of breaking off the piece. The platter is their countryside round platter item # 5088089. When I called the company at 866-645-2721 and talked to Ben, I was told because it was a special sale Mikasa would not refund or replace the platter. Being a manufacturing defect, I find their response irresponsible and unacceptable. Consumers need to know their are not a responsible company.

I was attempting to get dinner plates from [redacted].com

Background: I registered at [redacted] when I got married in 2007. I was told there was a lifetime guarantee for the dinnerware. The dinnerware would be replaced for free - all I had to do was pay for shipping. When I attempted to do this (in 2014) I was told that [redacted] was bought by another company and they no longer honored this. After much back and forth they agreed to a 50% discount. Fine. So I ordered replacement salad plates and dinner plates. I was immediately charged for the salad plates and I received them. The dinner plates are on back order. Okay fine...I then get an email a few weeks later indicating that the dinner plates would be delayed even longer. Did I want to keep my order in? I attempted to click the link that was supposed to confirm my order. It did not work. Again and again, it did not work. After emailing the customer service a few times, I finally got someone to reply who said they would confirm that I still wanted the order. Today I received an email that the order was cancelled. I reached out via Facebook and through customer service and was told from customer service that they no longer had the dinner plates. I said they should credit me the cost of the salad plates as I got rid of my old salad plates and would not have done so or ordered them had I known I could not replace the set. They said the only way I could get a refund was to return the plates - and just be without plates. That's their fault. So I said...no...that's no good. I see that the dinner plates are still advertised on the website. My feeling is they just do not want to honor my discount. It is clear the plates are still for sale. I don't think I should have to deal with boxing up salad plates and paying shipping (even if it is to be reimbursed) when none of this is my fault. It is simply a waste of my time. And, if there were no plates left then why are they still on the site.Desired Settlement: First and foremost, I wish to have the dinner plates delivered for the 50% cost. If that cannot happen, I wish to receive a refund for the cost of the salad plates and NOT have to return them since I got rid of my old salad plates because I trusted that I would be able to replace the set. If I send the salad plates back, I am out plates...and time...and effort...I think [redacted] should be investigated for not honoring its lifetime agreement and for falsely advertising these plates on their website which they continue to do. I have a screen shot of the ad.

Review: I buy online, during the night, a dinner set and just after it I try to cancel the order.The [redacted] site give you no option but to call their office at 9:00 am, what I did and for my big surprise the representative told me it was too late ! How ?? It was the very first opportunity They gave me ?? So, I write asking for the cancellation and they told me to wait for the arrival and I will be able to return. The merchandise arrived, and it was partially damaged. I called and ask to return in an Mikasa store. They first told me that hey will send me a label, but late they told me that instead I will need to pay for the shipment, what is almost the same price I pay. I insist that it is not a fair business, but they give me no other option , but to replace the broken pieces, not to return as they promises twice and one by written (I will try to include the emails).
