Response to complaint !D of [redacted] AND [redacted] Prior to the September 30, appointment, I assisted the bride on the phone with information on various bridesmaids dresses we carried, the mom later called and asked me to honor 10% off the dresses, which is what they were told at another bridal store and had already told the bridesmaids was the pricingI agreed, in an effort to earn the business.Members of the bridal party had an appointment on SeptThe staff worked with themgirls were measured and deposits takenWe require half down, but girls chose to pay in fullThe girls, each signed a document that states: due to the nature of our business we don't offer refunds or exchangesWe also have a sign at the register that states our store policy: No refunds given, merchandise credit only.MrsA did call me about the possibility of the wedding being canceled a couple weeks laterShe was upset and crying and I did feel badly for herI did tell her the dresses hadn't been ordered, but "let's wait and see what happens and we will go from there!!" I NEVER told her I would give refundsA few days later, she again called and left a voicemail that the wedding was indeed cancelledI spoke with the owner, I am the proprietor, and we decided to stand by our store policy.I called MrsA that evening and told her that we would be standing by our store credit policyShe asked about who I was referring to in "we" and I said my silent partnerShe insisted in speaking to himI responded, "I would see what I could do"Following this, I was out of town, and hadn't spoken to our ownerAfter I returned, MrsA messaged me that she was still waiting to speak to the ownerI spoke to him and he gave permission for me to provide her with his phone number which I did, and told her she could call him.All of the girls, in the mean time had been sent a merchandise credit document and a copy of their original receipt.As far as I recall none of this bridal party-was in our store on September 23, as statedAt no point in either conversation did I say I or we would refund moneys!!
