On Monday 12/5/16 we've got our truck into their shop. The final bill...
$189.00 in parts... $2380.00 !!! in labor + $238.00 in "miscelaneous?" . WHAT A RIP OFF.
The worst... they "misdiagnosed the problem" and I had to pay to be able to leave that inferno called Truck Centers of Arkansas : 11700 Valentine Rd, North Little Rock, AR 72117.
My total bill $3081.75!!!!! to change a manifold gasket??? they took over a week and I had to pay $90.00 in hotel plus truck driver food a day.
The cherry on top?... they said the Freightliner truck had the EGR valve not responding, so they said there was a leak in the exhaust that was causing it... estimate $1100.00 so I said okay go ahead.. then they said the screws broke... to remove them "8" extra hours.. the assigned mechanic was working in and out of the truck every day... no rush at all (c'mon a week to remove 6 screws? any decent mechanic can do that with a electric drill in 2-3 hrs tops).
Zach the mechanic who was in charge said it will be $1960+ for the repair instead of the $1100.00 so I took a deep breath and said okay... it was too much but truck was far from our base and needed to be repaired to keep working, not much compared when I called next day to check on the progress on the truck... no progress, and a lady working there told me there were actually $2700+ total ($140.00 in parts then...) that the price given to me was only $1900+ in LABOR (so I was basically deceived by them). I requested them to put everything back so we could leave that horrible place and she said it is too late, we have taken all apart and truck cannot leave... like if they were taking it hostage. I had no choice but to wait... and wait and wait, finally they finished the work a week later, and... yes still EGR valve not responding so what they did was useless, it was not it. And my bill of $3081.75... in their pockets.
FREIGHTLINER SERIOUSLY SHOULD REVOKE THEIR RIGHT TO USE THE FREIGHTLINER DEALER NAME. I called several times asking for $ consideration, noting.
That the amount charged for that kind of job and labor was excessive, etc... they didn't care any of those times I called.
From the the human point of view they are bad people, crooks. From the professional point of view, they should be out of business plain and simple. I will make sure I make my discharge with Freightliner Corporation and Revdex.com. Don't go there, they are not honest. They will invent stuff for a super inflated price once they get you in. And in the worst case like it happened to us... you will not EVEN get your problem solved.
