I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me and the matter has been...
resolved.
Dear [redacted],
Please know that the Montauk Blue Hotel has taken satisfactory care of my issue. I think it came down to bad communication on some of the front end people at the hotel, but once management was involved it was all straightened out.
Thank you very much for all of your help. If there is any way to note, the hotels management did work hard to fix the situation.
Sincerely,
[redacted]
Review: I booked a reservation on line through booking.com on 7/** at 3:56pm, after finding out that my family could not vacation at that time, I immediately cancelled, at 4:27pm the same day. On Booking.com's site it claims booking.com does not charge your credit card.Looking at my statement, The Montauk Blue hotel charged my card for $223.24 for two rooms a totla of $446. When I called to find out when this would be refunded, a Shantel at the hotel said not only would they NOT refund the money, but since I cancelled, they have no rooms any longer. IM just OUT the $446? This can not be correct? Can a hotel charge $446, for service not rendered? Especially when there is NO loss to the hotel, as they are sold out those days? I may be able to understand if I made a reservation, cancelled, or did not show, and the hotel could NOT re-book the room, loosing the money - but now that they are sold out, how can they be allowed to keep the money?Desired Settlement: I would like the $446 refunded to the card charged, as I was under the impression the card would only be charged at check in. That never happened, and no service was rendered.
