Mr. B's Paint & Body Shop, Inc Reviews (5)

I am sorry to say but this vehicle has been painted on the left side as well.  We have a mil gauge that will measure the thickness of the paint and and tell if it has been painted or not.  Also the color difference from the door handle to the door is not the same color and you can tell they painted the left rear quarter panel and door.  I will say this if you can get a professional to prove that it is the factory paint on that quarter panel Mr. B's will pay to get it repainted.  We can meet at the place of your choice with a represenative from [redacted], our company, and the professional of your choice to meet at the vehicle and determine if that is factory paint.  Again if it is the factory paint we will pay, if not we are done.  Please let us know when you would like to do this as we will clear our schedule to get it looked at.
Thank you,

Your speculation about what has been repainted on the car previous to the visit to your shop is not factual.  I have reviewed the history of the car, and spoke with the person who owned it before me( Mr [redacted]), the drivers quarter panel has not been repainted and is OEM Ford paint. The bumper should match the Ford OE Paint almost perfectly right? I did agree that the passenger side of the car was repainted(very poorly) and did not match the rest of the car at all. that paint has been painted over by your shop and paid for by The [redacted]. It was our understanding that the drivers side quarter panel would match well enough to not be the huge eye sore that it is now.
And for what its worth, I called [redacted] on the 30th he told me the car would be ready at 1:30. I showed up at 1:30... if the car wasnt going to be ready then you should have called me.
As far as the other damages to my car, Mr [redacted] is very aware of the dent in the decklid, and the Faux cap was damaged when it was removed.

[redacted] is correct about a number of things.  We did have numerous problems with his vehicle.  The first bumper cover from the factory did have some slight waves in the rear of the cover.  Most of the [redacted]e these will come out over [redacted]e because it is plastic, but we agreed to paint and put...

on another OEM cover.  When our decal specialist came out to install the decal he sprayed a chemical that had a reaction to the tail lamp.  This was our fault because we had never seen a reaction like this before so we assumed it was like this before.  We realized we had made a mistake and replaced the tail lamp with a new OEM lamp.  [redacted] also did not like the way the decal was installed.  There was a delay in getting the second one because the company that installed it had difficulty getting one.  We then stepped in and ordered a new decal and replaced it again.  We did advise him that we would call him when his vehicle is ready and we anticipated it to be ready about 1:30 but again would call him when we were done.  He came at 1:30 without a phone call and we were still finishing up his vehicle.  We did not have adequate [redacted]e to completely wash and detail his vehicle, our fault.  So yes there had been multiple things that went wrong and we have fixed every problem except one.........
This is where [redacted] is wrong.  He bought this vehicle used and had never noticed that it had been painted multiple [redacted]es.  The left side is one color, not factory, and the right side is another color, again not factory.  Different accidents painted at different [redacted]es.  When we painted the rear bumper cover we had problems matching it because of the color differences.  We had our paint company come in with an expert in matching paint color to try and help.  In the mean [redacted]e we put on the old bumper cover to see how close we were.  The bumper cover that he had on there originally did not match. That is when we called [redacted] to bring him down and see his vehicle with the original cover back on.  When [redacted] arrived with his friend they were both shocked to see that the old cover did not match originally.  He just never noticed it before.  This is why we brought him down to see it with his own eyes.  As we had our techs and others here to try and match this color [redacted] tells us to blend the right quarter panel and get the left as close as possible like the old one, and we did.  When we are able to blend a color into the next panel it helps us to match the color better as your eye loses it.  Luckily The [redacted] Insurance Company agreed to pay to blend the right quarter panel so that [redacted] did not have to. Although [redacted] said he would pay if [redacted] did not because he understood that both sides have been painted before.  [redacted] went beyond what they owed to try and make it right.  We even fixed multiple chips on the right quarter panel to try and make [redacted] happy as he pointed these out to us from the prior paint work.  We only had so much of the special color that we made for his vehicle to try and match multiple colors.  When [redacted] picked up his vehicle he understood that the left side would not be perfect but we were able to get it as close or closer than it was before.  We would schedule a [redacted]e to redo the rear decal when part arrived.  I get an email from [redacted] later saying his vehicle was dirty and had some over spray on it, all things described earlier and were easy for us to rectify .  Then [redacted] stated that the color did not match on the left side and was not like that when he brought it in.  When he arrived to drop his vehicle off for the decal we talked about the color difference again.  Because the quarter panel had been painted previously there was no way to get it any closer without blending the panel.  He then told me to just "give" him the money to get it painted again.  Again this one is not our fault as the quarter panel had been painted prior and this would not happen as we can only do so much.  He then called [redacted] to try and get them to take care of the bill again.  [redacted] also understood that this was not our fault and denied this request.  We never lied to [redacted] or to [redacted] about what is wrong with this vehicle the facts are the facts.  We would never tell [redacted] that it was perfect because it is not.  We did however tell [redacted] that it is the best that anyone could do with out blending the quarter panel that had been previously painted.  This quarter panel is not the factory paint as [redacted] has stated and he knows it.  He seen it with his own eyes.  Remember we had put his old cover on to show him this fact.  This vehicle had been in multiple accidents before and was painted multiple [redacted]es.  At this point there is nothing more we can do with the color match.  All the problems that were ours we feel we have taken care of.  When [redacted] dropped his vehicle off he never talked about a dent behind the gas cap, or the gas cap only the paint match on the quarter that had been painted before.  If there is something else wrong with the vehicle that we caused, we would be happy to address it.  But at this point [redacted] Insurance Company and Mr. B's are not responsible for paint and labor for another shop to fix because his vehicle was in prior accidents and it is not the original color.  [redacted] would be responsible for this extra cost.

When you come to our shop on Monday the represenative from [redacted] will be here.  We can talk about the gas cap then.  I want to remind everyone that when we brought you down to see the old cover on your vehicle you admitted that it did not match, and you never noticed.  We had our painter with 20+ years of experience and our Paint rep who has 20+ years also with multiple cirtifications on color matching trying to match the color for hours.  The only way you would be able to come close is to blend the color like we did with the other side.  Whoever paints it again, this is the only way they will get it to match.  If you just look at your door handle to the door it does not match either because they also painted the door and not the handle.  We will see you on Monday and I hope we can get this figured out.
