Dear [redacted],
The person who set up the credit card machine for our store informed us that starting in 2010, merchants are able to set a credit card minimum purchase price for customers wishing to pay with a credit card (our machine processes both credit...
& debit cards as credit card purchases-- therefore even if you paid with a debit card, it will not ask you to enter in a pin, it will simply charge your debit card as it charges a credit card). After you filed your complaint, we called the credit card company and learned that we can set up a credit card minimum of up to only $10. I apologize that we did not accept your credit card payment of $10. We have changed our credit card policy to a minimum purchase price of $10.
Thank you. You have recently paid for the dry cleaning for your scarf and picked it up from our store earlier this week.
Review: On October *, 2014 I dropped off a scarf to be dry cleaned by Mr. Lee dry cleaners. On October **, 2014 at approximately 2 PM I went to retrieve the scarf. Total cost for dry-cleaning $10. I wanted to pay using my [redacted] credit debit card from [redacted]. I was told by employee named [redacted] that there is a $20 minimum charge required on all credit and debit card purchases. The establishment has the [redacted] and [redacted] logos in their window and a sign posted that credit cards require a $20 minimum purchase in order to keep costs down. According to the merchants’ [redacted] and [redacted] contracts, stores CANNOT require a minimum purchase. If they do, it violates their agreement with their bank issuer or credit card company. The employee refuses to give me my scarf back unless I give him $10 in cash. He told me that the [redacted] named [redacted] is located in Korea and will not be reachable for at least a month. And that he has an employee is unable to charge my car just $10 without the [redacted]s permission. The scarf's value is approximately $300.Desired Settlement: I want my scarf back. And I want to be able to pay for the dry cleaning service using my [redacted] credit debit card. I would also like an apology and a change in store policy since they have broken their contract with [redacted].
