Nonetheless, as a gesture of goodwill, Day Chevrolet agreed to “eat” his portion and complete the repairs He assured our advisor, Kim K [redacted] , that he was satisfied with the repairs whenever he returned to pihis vehicle As such, it is our belief that he remains satisfied! I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
I have spoke to many other Volt owners who has had software updates on their vehicles outside of their bumper-to-bumper warranty and this was done at no charge to them by their dealerships. I have also talked to people who work for GM and have worked on Volts and they have informed me as well that the error codes could have just been cleared and with a new EVSE the vehicle would charge again just fine. I can't seem to understand how the EVSE is not covered under the Voltec warranty when it stays right on the unit "Voltec". If Day Chevrolet wishes to not accept refunded me the $219.90 for the software update I can accept that and bite the bullet. I am asking the Chevrolet / GM does supply me with a replacement EVSE at no cost. When I bought the vehicle in June of 2016 the charger that came with the vehicle was damaged and it was replaced free of charge to me with no issues under the Voltec warranty I believe. The vehicle is useless without having the EVSE and I am unable to charge it without the EVSE therefore unable to use the Voltec technology within the Volt.

August 16, 2016 Ms. [redacted] Revdex.com of Western PA 400 Holiday Drive – Suite 220 Pittsburgh, PA  15220      Re:  [redacted] - # [redacted] Dear Ms. [redacted]: This reply is in response to the complaint filed with your office by [redacted] against Day Chevrolet in...

Monroeville, PA. Mr. [redacted]’s Chevrolet Traverse was unable to be driven and was towed into Day Chevrolet for repairs.  We initially could not verify the noise that was allegedly coming from the power steering pump until the engine was restarted, and we couldn’t do this until the timing chain was repaired.  Once this was completed, we determined that the power steering pump needed replaced.  GM has a policy that calculates a goodwill adjustment for customers who have repairs that occur outside of the normal warranty period.  In this case, his Traverse was out of warranty but GM was willing to split the $535.15 cost required to complete the repairs – Mr. [redacted] refused to pay!  Nonetheless, as a gesture of goodwill, Day Chevrolet agreed to “eat” his portion and complete the repairs.  He assured our advisor, Kim K[redacted], that he was satisfied with the repairs whenever he returned to pick-up his vehicle.  As such, it is our belief that he remains satisfied!  I would hope that this correspondence is satisfactory for your records.  Should this matter require any further conversation, however, I can be reached throughout the day at ###-###-####. Respectfully, David W[redacted] Service Director Day Chevrolet 1600 Golden Mile Highway Monroeville, PA  15146
