Munson's Independent Honda Reviews (4)

I filed a complaint against Munson's Independent Honda earlier this eveningAfter doing further research, I have been made aware that the repair shop did not obtain our authorization per RCW 46.71.025Written estimate required — Alternatives — Authorization to exceed — Exceptions Per the revised code of Washington is states the repair shop must record the date and time of oral authorization on the invoice, the person obtaining the authorization and the work that was authorizedIt does not state that on our invoice and also they are required by law to retain a copy of all warranties for a year, which they have failed to doOur warranty on the gasket is good until Dec of so they are required to have a copy and they have failed to produce it According to these RCW's, they disobeyed the laws set forth for their type of industry and proceeded to instigate a verbal assault against their customer and accused us of lying and wanting free workSo maybe they need to come up with a desirable outcome since they have failed with their record keeping abilities Sincerely, [redacted] and [redacted] ***-***-***

I apologize that this is late, but my response must not have gone through I would like to address their allegations in their response and I will go in order 1) My husband did not authorize the spark plugs three times He replaced them himself for $including tax, so why would he spend over $for them to do it? It absolutely does not make sense and it appears the employees of Munsons are only trying to cover for each other 2) I never, ever and will swear this upon the life of my children called and yelled at the owner over the telephone That is a bald-face lie and shame on a business owner for stating thisThe order of events went as follows with me only: 1) I called in the morning and received estimate 2) I called later that evening and said we would pick up the car the next day This gave my husband and I a chance to compare notes to clarify exactly what work should have been performed 3) The next day I went to pay and clarify the price and that is when T [redacted] started hollering 3) MrM [redacted] claims this is his only bad review when that is false There are other poor reviews on Yelp so I am not the only one 4) Regarding the customer they were trying to overcharge T [redacted] quoted him a price and he had to explain to her he had a $credit I am not accusing anything - just stating that there seems to be an ongoing issue with them misquoting customers In his case, she actually realized her mistake and fixed it 5) Regarding his claim of they "usually" transfer the changes to the repair order This is against the law They are required under chapter RCW to write on the repair order who authorized the repair, the date, the time and the initials of the company representative They did not do this! They are also required to keep their paperwork for one year and claimed we were lying when we said they repaired the vehicle Dec We wanted to see the paperwork so we could be clear on what work was performed and if it was under warranty They could not find the paperwork but then it appears the next day 6) I agree with MrM [redacted] on one point: treat others the way you wish to be treated There will obviously not be any resolution on this matter because they are still unwilling to admit any wrongdoing on their part and it is the of them against me I actually admitted there were things I could have done differently, yet they were yelling, making accusations at me and flat out belittling me T [redacted] went on some rampage about how if you are in a clothing store and you look at the price of an item does it include the tax? Yes, when you get a final price for an item, the tax is included I have said nothing that is not truthful and the fact that he is trying to threaten legal action is a good example of the tone I received that day Threats, bullying and complete unwillingness to admit there was an obvious miscommunication It just does not add up that we would willingly spend over $on something that cost us $and ten minutes of our time to do We were not asking for free work, just a clarification on why they did the spark plugs, an apology for the miscommunication and life would have gone on In my opinion, how defensive they got reflected their unorganized way of doing business and their use of post it notes instead of what is required also reflects that Again, just to be clear so I am not "accused" of something, that is my opinion At this time I am confident I am a truthful and honest person who did get upset because of how I was treated and was well within my right to state the horrible experience I received on Yelp Thank you, [redacted] ***

I apologize that this is late, but my response must not have gone through.  I would like to address their false allegations in their response and I will go in order.
1)  My husband did not authorize the spark plugs three times.  He replaced them himself for $11.00 including tax, so...

why would he spend over $40 for them to do it?  It absolutely does not make sense and it appears the employees of Munsons are only trying to cover for each other.
2)  I never, ever and will swear this upon the life of my children called and yelled at the owner over the telephone.  That is a bald-face lie and shame on a business owner for stating this. The order of events went as follows with me only: 1)  I called in the morning and received estimate 2)  I called later that evening and said we would pick up the car the next day.  This gave my husband and I a chance to compare notes to clarify exactly what work should have been performed.  3)  The next day I went to pay and clarify the price and that is when T[redacted] started hollering.
3)  Mr. M[redacted] claims this is his only bad review when that is false.  There are other poor reviews on Yelp so I am not the only one.
4)  Regarding the customer they were trying to overcharge.  T[redacted] quoted him a price and he had to explain to her he had a $500 credit.  I am not accusing anything - just stating that there seems to be an ongoing issue with them misquoting customers.  In his case, she actually realized her mistake and fixed it.
5)  Regarding his claim of they "usually" transfer the changes to the repair order.  This is against the law.  They are required under chapter 46.71 RCW to write on the repair order who authorized the repair, the date, the time and the initials of the company representative.  They did not do this!  They are also required to keep their paperwork for one year and claimed we were lying when we said they repaired the vehicle Dec 2014.  We wanted to see the paperwork so we could be clear on what work was performed and if it was under warranty.  They could not find the paperwork but then it appears the next day.
6)  I agree with Mr. M[redacted] on one point: treat others the way you wish to be treated.
There will obviously not be any resolution on this matter because they are still unwilling to admit any wrongdoing on their part and it is the 3 of them against me.  I actually admitted there were things I could have done differently, yet they were yelling, making accusations at me and flat out belittling me.  T[redacted] went on some rampage about how if you are in a clothing store and you look at the price of an item does it include the tax?  Yes, when you get a final price for an item, the tax is included.  I have said nothing that is not truthful and the fact that he is trying to threaten legal action is a good example of the tone I received that day.  Threats, bullying and complete unwillingness to admit there was an obvious miscommunication.  It just does not add up that we would willingly spend over $40 on something that cost us $11 and ten minutes of our time to do.  We were not asking for free work, just a clarification on why they did the spark plugs, an apology for the miscommunication and life would have gone on.  In my opinion, how defensive they got reflected their unorganized way of doing business and their use of post it notes instead of what is required also reflects that.  Again, just to be clear so I am not "accused" of something, that is my opinion.
At this time I am confident I am a truthful and honest person who did get upset because of how I was treated and was well within my right to state the horrible experience I received on Yelp.

I filed a complaint against Munson's Independent Honda earlier this evening. After doing further research, I have been made aware that the repair shop did not obtain our authorization per RCW
46.71.025Written estimate required — Alternatives — Authorization to exceed — Exceptions
Per the revised code of Washington is states the repair shop must record the date and time of oral authorization on the invoice, the person obtaining the authorization and the work that was authorized. It does not state that on our invoice and also they are required by law to retain a copy of all warranties for a year, which they have failed to do. Our warranty on the gasket is good until Dec of 2015 so they are required to have a copy and they have failed to produce it.

According to these RCW's, they disobeyed the laws set forth for their type of industry and proceeded to instigate a verbal assault against their customer and accused us of lying and wanting free work. So maybe they need to come up with a desirable outcome since they have failed with their record keeping abilities.

Sincerely,
