National Homeowner Service Reviews (%countItem)

I cant believe this sham company is allowed to operate. They sent us a phony letter printed up as if it came from the VA to protect our loan. Way to try to scam Veterans.

Misleading mail masquerading as mortgage provider.
National Homeowner Services has sent numerous pieces of mail pretending to be my mortgage servicing company. They explicitly use the name of my servicing company without identifying themselves, in violation of 1026.24 (i):
"(4) Misleading use of the current lender's name. Using the name of the consumer's current lender in an advertisement that is not sent by or on behalf of the consumer's current lender, unless the advertisement:" Attempted to contact a phone number I found after substantial searching, only to find it goes to a shell company that does not answer the phone.

Desired Outcome

Cease and desist all contact. Comply with applicable laws and regulations.

Never once do they acknowledge the DAILY NUMEROUS PHONE CALLS, same person using different numbers. My reports to the Do Not call are not working since a different number is used every call. This harassment has been going on for too many months, both by mail & calls. I seek monetary damages for the *** they have put me through!! ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!!

Send monetary damages to close this case!!

Company presents itself to be legit in order to gain your information to further sell you services you don't need.
This company sends fraudulent mail; attempting to look legit (ascertained by originating mortgage) in an attempt to gain your information to sell additional coverage not needed.

As soon as I opened it, I knew it was a scam. No phone number to call, vague details, asking for information, and creating a sense of urgency (must be done by mortgage anniversary date).

I would never fall prey to such nonsense but I know tons of people, especially the elderly who would.

Of course a few Google clicks later confirmed my suspicion and these complaints have been going on for years. They need to be stopped.

Since the postage was paid for, I sent them a tersely worded response.

Desired Outcome

I'd like to see them stop practicing these fraudulent activities but I'll settle for them never mailing me anything ever again.

Lil

Multiple letters mailed to my address after request to cease and desist. Was not able to contact the company via Phone.
No purchase date, looks to be a fraudulent way to con people out of money

Desired Outcome

Would like to stop receiving junk mail from this company

If you're lucky like me, this company will send you your first letter to your brand new home! They send LOADS of junk mail soliciting mortgage protection junk. They also go under the name National Homeowner Services out of Dallas Texas. I'll save you some time and put their phone number here so you can call and get off their mailing list -

BOGUS MARKETING LETTER
National Homeowner Services sent a letter listing my Mortgage Company and then my name and mailing address. They make it appear as though Quicken Loans was sending it to me. I spent 15 minutes on Hold waiting to discover they did not send this letter. They do not offer Homeowner Mortgage Protection plans.

I have registered with the Direct Mail marketing Assn., To not send me any marketing materials. It appears that this second hand company is a dishonest scamming business.

I want them to CEASE AND DESIST and stop sending anything to me and not to share my name and address with any other company. Remove all records from their database.

Desired Outcome

REMOVE ALL RECORDS AND REFERENCES OF ME AND MY ADDRESS FROM THEIR DATABASE. NOT TO SHARE MY INFORMATION WITH ANYONE.................!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! UNABLE TO LOCATE A TELEPHONE CONTACT WITH WHOEVER THIS COMPANY REALLY IS.

(The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.)
I understand Public Record information they make reference to. Regardless of the public record, they should follow be more prudent in checking the DMA site. They might avoid complaints.

I used this site to be removed from marketing mailings.

Direct Marketing Association
DMAchoice.org
The Direct Marketing Association's mail and email opt-out service.

Excessive and misleading mail sent pretending to be bills or information from my mortgage company.
Mail in all shapes, sizes and colors sporting headlines like "FINAL NOTICE!" and "IMMEDIATE ATTENTION NEEDED!" and using my mortgage information to convince me it's from my mortgage company. Intentionally no address or company listed anywhere than a PO box on the return envelope they send with. This latest version is made to look like your tax return check through the window of the envelope just to trick you into opening it. Ridiculous amount of notices from this same company. I only bought this house a month and a half ago, and I could easily fill a garbage bag with the amount of junk I've gotten. Can't guarantee it's all the same company or not, as every letter has intentionally hidden who it's from so you'll believe it's from someone trustworthy. Absolutely despicable business practice.

Desired Outcome

Stop sending me mail of any kind. Remove my information from your mailing list, permanently. I'm not falling for it, and the more you send the angrier I get.

(The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.)
Still a sm business practice, but looking forward to getting less junk mail.

I receive threatening mail stating "final notice" which is asking for my date of birth, stating my mortgage bank and amount.
I recently moved to a new home (March 2019) and began receiving letters from this company requesting a response (some on white paper, then yellow, then pink). It asks for my DOB and it concerns me that my private information is on each letter (mortgage bank and amount of my mortgage). These letters/numbers are listed on this most recent letter: XXXXXXXXX XXXX XXXXXX ENHMD
I don't appreciate companies attempting to take advantage of me by sending these letters repeatedly asking me if I am interested in a new low-cost mortgage home protection program to pay off my mortgage in the event that I should die before the mortgage is paid off.

Desired Outcome

I don't want to receive another piece of mail from this company. I want this company to be punished for solicitation.

National Homeowner Service Response • Jun 07, 2019

We apologize for any misconception or concern this homeowner may have. We mail only homeowners who have a mortgage listed as a public record in their county courthouse.

We have suppressed this name and address from the database and the homeowner will not receive anything else from us.

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
Because, case in point just because my info is publicly recorded, doesn't give these scammers the right to send *** letters with the heading FINAL NOTICE and other ***. Further more impersonation of the actual company that owns the mortgage is not right. They are using the knowledge to try and scare unaware people into doing business with them, that is their tactic. Also not have a phone number or an address where you can talk to someone or get a response isn't right either. No one picks up the phone if you try to reach these people or responds. Because they know what they are doing is trying to scam folks. Why put FINAL NOTICE on the letter if you've only sent out one? Because its a scare tactic and using the mortgagee name and printed on colored paper to signify its important. This is plain and simple a scam. *** stop!

Clearly a scam. They pretend they are associated with the mortgage company (SoFi) in an attempt to trick the consumer into sending personal details (name, DOB, smoking history, gender, phone numbers, initials). AVOID.

Company uses predatory practices of advertising their services.
Constantly receiving junk mail from this company with no phone number, contact information, or way to opt-out of correspondence.
They operate under the guise of "IMMEDIATE ACTION REQUIRED" and including my lender's name on their pieces of mail in order to validate themselves and trick unsuspecting homeowners into thinking it's a legitimate piece of mail.
Absolutely scummy way of doing business.

Desired Outcome

I would love to speak on the phone or in person with this "company's" head of advertising and marketing, and would love nothing more than to never receive another piece of mail from these cocklords.

Soliciting home insurance every day in my mail. I don't want it and stop. Spam mail
Every Day mail...bother some junk keeps annoying me to buy home insurance in case I die. I don't want it...take me off the list and leave me alone. My attorney is calling you next.

Desired Outcome

Leave me alone

SCAM mail attempting to solicit personal info (date of birth, gender, phone numbers, initials, etc.) for the purpose of "Mortgage Protection".

Completely misrepresents itself as being affiliated with my mortgage company. Nothing legitimate is coming from this address. Feel free to mail them back their envelope EMPTY (at their cost).

Deceptive unsolicited junk mail threatening my family if I die
I have received numerous letters informing me that I must PROTECT MY FAMILY in case I die and in order to do so I must respond urgently by sending a form to the business named in the complaint. I did not seek out this service and there is no way to indicate my lack of interest or that I wish for them to stop sending me offers.

Desired Outcome

Stop sending me this junk mail and reconsider your predatory advertising scheme.

Unsolicited mailings
I echo the complaints of others - they send constant, unsolicited, deceptive mailings. These letters must stop.

Desired Outcome

Removal from their mailing list and no further communication.

This company is using deceptive practices and aggressive mailings multiple times per week. There is no contact information, nor any opt-out option.
This company is deceptively using the name of my (old) mortgage company to solicit an unaffiliated mortgage insurance policy. They are trolling and misusing public records in order to scam unsuspecting new homeowners. There is no contact information on their mailings, no opt-out options, and appear to be violating Regulation Z Subpart C §1026.24(i)(4) of the TILA by most prominently displaying the name of my (old) lender, not themselves. The only way to connect them is their return envelope which is to "Family Wellness Data Center," which seems to connect to National Homeowner Service and Leadstar Leads, as far as I can research. This company is the definitive example of why the FTC, Revdex.com, state Attorney Generals and regulation exists.

Desired Outcome

I would like my information removed from their systems entirely, and never readded. I do not want suppression or temporary measures. I don't want my information stored with them, I don't want it sold to their affiliates or customers. I want written documentation that any information of mine is not stored in their system in any way. Additionally, I would like them to address their compliance on Regulation Z Subpart C §1026.24(i)(4).

Excessive, unsolicited and deceptive mailings, which use my mortgage company's name in order to deceive..
These people have mailed deceptive solicitations to me twice in the last 9 months. They employ tactics to dupe people into thinking their bank is requesting information. They have no website or phone number for me to reach them.

Desired Outcome

Remove me from your contact list immediately and do not attempt to contact me again by any means.
