After waiting weeks for an appointment with DrAlan HI arrived minutes late due to heavy snow bird Florida traffic and was told that my appointment was automatically cancelled and that the doctor had another appointment scheduled in minutes First of all I must inform you that DrHis treating me for anxiety/depression and bipolar disorder The front desk informed me that if you arrive any more than minutes late, your appointment is automatically cancelled What kind of a psychiatrist schedules sessions every 1/hour? Also, what happened to the balance of my appointment?? DrHonly added to my anxiety problem He never even bothered to come out and ask how I am Now mind you, I am a year old senior and traveled 1/hours round trip for nothing The front desk asked if I wanted to reschedule to which I responded that I would never be back there again I have already reported this to Corporate office and I am waiting for a response to my complaint After my first visit to DrHhe advised me that he was overwhelmed from my history The entire experience was depressing to say the least and unethical and mind you that this is at $a visit He should be ashamed of himself I would never recommend him to anyone

After waiting 6 weeks for an appointment with Dr. Alan H. I arrived 15 minutes late due to heavy snow bird Florida traffic and was told that my appointment was automatically cancelled and that the doctor had another appointment scheduled in 15 minutes. First of all I must inform you that Dr. H. is treating me for anxiety/depression and bipolar disorder. The front desk informed me that if you arrive any more than 5 minutes late, your appointment is automatically cancelled. What kind of a psychiatrist schedules sessions every 1/2 hour? Also, what happened to the balance of my appointment?? Dr. H. only added to my anxiety problem. He never even bothered to come out and ask how I am. Now mind you, I am a 71 year old senior and traveled 2 1/2 hours round trip for nothing. The front desk asked if I wanted to reschedule to which I responded that I would never be back there again. I have already reported this to Corporate office and I am waiting for a response to my complaint. After my first visit to Dr. H. he advised me that he was overwhelmed from my history. The entire experience was depressing to say the least and unethical and mind you that this is at $350.00 a visit. He should be ashamed of himself. I would never recommend him to anyone.

I would like to give my Positive feedback on the operating room nursing staff and the nursing staff in the pre-operating staging area. I had two Out-patient surgeries on December 27, 2013 and May 19, 2016. In both cases, I received excellent nursing care from the operating room nursing staff and the nursing staff in the pre-operating staging area. I highly commend the nursing staff's efficiency, thoroughness and compassion in caring for a patient.

I would like share negative experiences about the services I received for my two Out-Patient surgeries on December 27, 2013 and May 19, 2016 from NCH Healthcare System in Naples, Florida.

The nature of the complaints are two parts. The first part was about the miscommunications during my pre-admissions for the Day Surgeries. For my first surgery, the pre-admission office never informed me that I needed someone to stay with me after the surgery. I was lucky in that I did not have to scramble to find a care person, because my friend, Mrs. [redacted] who picked me up from the hospital, was able to accompany me overnight. During the pre-admission for my second surgery, I specifically verified the need of an overnight care person, and the answer was "NO". Therefore, I did not make arrangements to have a caregiver stay with me overnight. But after the surgery, the surgery recovery nursing staff would not release me from the hospital, unless I had an arrangement with a caregiver. I was just coming out of my anesthesia, and was physically incapacitated. My friend, Mrs. [redacted] who drove me home that day, could not stay overnight with me after my surgery not knowing nor preparing for such need. My friend had to urgently call some homecare agencies to find a caregiver. This imposed undue stress on me and my friend. At the end, I had to pay $35 an hour for a person who was not qualified to be a caregiver.

The second part of the complaint was about the care I received in Post Day Surgery Recovery Care. In both of my surgeries, the Recovery Care nursing staff were pushing me out of the hospital when I was still under the influence of anesthesia and began to feel the sharp pain from my surgeries. They made me walk out of, instead of wheeled me out of the Day Surgery Exit Door. My two friends, Mrs. [redacted] and Mrs. [redacted] who picked me up from the Day Surgery can attest that I walked out with cratches after my first surgery when I was having excruciating pain. I could hardly stand up. After my second surgery, I was holding to the wall and walked to the exit door after my second surgery because of feeling extremely notious. Both of my friends made a comment that why I was not wheeled out.

Since July of this year, I have been in contact with the Patient Relations Department at NCH Downtown Naples Hospital by way of telephone calls and/or written communications. The reasons I am writing this negative review is because I received a written letter dated November 8, 2016 from the Patient Relations Department. I am quoting the key paragraph which states their findings, as follows.

"After speaking with you, I asked the Patient Grievance Committee to re-address your complaints regarding the care that you received on December 27, 2013 and May 19, 2016. After reviewing your complaints, the Committee concurred with the findings of p;prior complaint review, which was unable to confirm your concerns, and had found that the care provided to you was appropriate".

I disagree on their final findings. I have been spending time in documenting and communicating with the hospital management in hope that they will investigate objectively without bias, and admit their negligence. More importantly, corrected actions should be taken to prevent this type of stressful situations from happening to the out-patient surgery patients in the future.
