New Era Motors

Review: My wife and I purchased a used 2006 Toyota Rav 4 from new era motors. When we test drove the vehicle, the check engine light was not on. However, we inquired as to why it was leaking fluid when it was at a stop. The salesman said that it was from the air conditioning, and that it was typical on a hot day for this to happen. We ended up purchasing the vehicle, as he said that he knew a lot about cars and that this car was a great deal, and the fluid dripping out was not a big deal. The day after we bought the vehicle, the check engine light came on. When we took it into the mechanic, we found out that the head gasket was blown.This repair is going to cost us almost 2000 dollars to repair. I called Brad Carrier, the owner of the dealership, and let him know about it. He said that it was our responsibility, as we had purchased the vehicle "as is." I told him that I wanted to return it, as we had purchased it just the day before the light came on, and he said that it was our problem. It was our mistake for trusting the salesperson, and our mistake for not purchasing a warranty with the car. I asked him what the right thing to do ethically was, and what he would do if our roles were reversed. He said it was tough luck, and he could not do anything. They took advantage of us and are unwilling to do anything about it.Desired Settlement: I would like to return the vehicle, as we purchased it just days ago. He refuses to do this.
