O'Malley Tires

Review: In August 2012 I purchased a set of 4 tires, Toyo Open Country, from the tire shop I have been using for nearly 20 years,[redacted]'s [redacted] here in my home town. He's tire supplier is O'Malley's Tire Sales and delivers the tire Mr. [redacted]'s orders. Mr [redacted]'s told me that the tires in question came with a 50,000 mile material and workmanship warranty. Then 10,926 miles and five months later the tires became out of round. I took my truck to Mr. [redacted]'s because my truck was hopping down the road and he found the tires to be out of round. Mr [redacted]'s reported his findings to his supplier O'Malley's Tire Sales. I was instructed to drive to their [redacted] location for their assessment of the tires which I did. O'Malley's found that three of the tires were 11/32 out of round. By Mr. [redacted]'s assessment the fourth tire was out of round enough to cause future problems and upon seeing what he saw it to should have been replaced just as the other 3 were. To avoid having a bad tire with 3 new ones I paid $250.43 for the 4th tire. Mr [redacted]'s, a professional tire man, said that being slightly out of round would certainly continue to go bad. Back on the road again until January 2014 and 21,413 later, it happened again, this same brand ,Toyo Open Country, for the 2nd time became out of round. Mr [redacted]'s reported his findings to the supplier, O'Malley's who instructed Mr [redacted]'s to take the tires off and return them for his review. A few weeks pass and Mr. [redacted]'s called to see what was the status of his review and was told that they had misplaced the tires so he had not yet seen them and he told Mr. [redacted]'s that there was paper work we had to fill out. We do so and returned the papers to O'Malley's. A week ago Mr. [redacted]'s contacted O'Malley's regarding their intent to make this right and was told they had lost the paper work. What give me a break misplaced the tires and lost the paper work. Mr. [redacted]'s nor myself is that stupid to believe a down right lie. This isn't even a good blow off.Desired Settlement: First I paid $984.97 when I purchased the first set which only lasted 10,000 miles.Second I paid $250.43 for the 4th tire they wouldn't cover or even offer me any type of discount after all the inconvenience they had caused me. Once again their tires became out of round with 21,000 miles on them. I refused to re install this same brand of so I went through a different supplier recommended by Mr. [redacted]'s. Out of pocket 1,235.40 these were suppose to be 50,000 mile.Settlement recovery 494.00

I have received the complaint from Mr. [redacted] & would like to defend ourselves from his accusations against us. First of all we are the wholesaler for the dealer that he purchased the tires from. He had trouble with a set of tires that he didn't buy from us last year & we helped him out at our store here in [redacted]. The tires that he is referring to are at our location & we intend to turn them in to Toyo, but he is claiming that the tires are out of round. In order for a tire to be out of round it must be determined within the first 2/32. He states that he has put over 10,000 miles on his tires which is past the first 2/32's. The vibration that he was receiving could be caused by many things that the vehicle can do to a tire. Every manufacture list the causes in their warranty books & I would be glad to get you that information from Toyo. In situations like Mr. [redacted]'s we have to turn the tire into Toyo so that they can determine if they want to give us the proper credit or not. I would be more than happy to help every customer that has tire issues, but unfortunately it would destroy us.
