Review: Dear Sirs,Over 7 years ago, I was in the wrong place at the wrong time. A man tried to attack me in my truck and I drove away trying to get away from him. I called the police and reported that this man(ex-business partner of my husbands)tried to attack me and pull me out of the truck. However, the man that tried to attack me said that I tried to run him over! I was arrested and charged with "An Assault with a Dangerous weapon". Even though I did not have a prior criminal record, the court system did not drop any of the charges. I went through at least 4 lawyers before I was sentenced for a crime I didn't commit. The third lawyer lied to me and said that he has talked to my witnesses and none of them saw the man jump on the truck. Then, I took a plea due to the current facts. However, after taking the plea, I found out that this lawyer never called any of my witnesses. Therefore, I fired this lawyer and hired another one to get me out of the plea. The judged denied the plea and I was sentenced. I then took the case to the court of appeals but it failed. Last year, I hired a lawyer to do an expungement and the judge approved this expungement on 8-26-11. I recently applied at the [redacted] to work a small part-time job over the holiday. The mall did a background check with OPENonline and it came back that I had still had a record 14 months after the expungement. In addition, the record that is showing up is completely wrong! The record shows incorrect dates of the incident,shows I was found guilty, and shows that I served jail time(when I did not). I am currently a graduate student at [redacted] University for Mental Health Counseling and am afraid that I won't be able to get an internship with this negative information. Therefore, I do plan on placing a suit on this company for not following the comply with the Federal Trade Commission(FTC)on including a expunged record and not following the 7 year rule of including a record. Furthermore, I am uncertain as to how many other private companies have this incorrect information or how many private companies OPENonline has sold my information to?Desired Settlement: I am hoping to find a lawyer to place suit on this company.
