P & R Moving and Deliveries

Review: I hired P&R moving company in June 2013. While unloading the truck at the new residence, the handle of the truck-bay door ripped the mattress along with the white mattress having several oil/dirt stains from the truck. A cherry-wood desk also had a large chunk of wood taken out while the employees were taking the desk apart. The movers phoned their boss, the owner, while at my residence and sent pictures of the mattress via their cell phone. The owner stated he would come to look at the mattress, desk and resolve the issue. He never showed up, nor returned calls, or resolved the matter. A certified letter was sent to the owner to assist with resolving the matter and I did not hear back. The local magistrate was contacted and a civil complaint was filed, the owner refused the letter to appear for court.Loss of approximately $1,900.Desired Settlement: Financial compensation for replacement of mattress and desk. Mattress: $1,015.43 Desk: $ 338.00Loss Wages: $461.60 (i took several days off when the owner stated he would come to the house to look at the items.)Magistrate fees: $95Total: $1,911.02

Review: I called the owner P&R Moving company to request the quote for an out-of state move. I specifically asked if the company is insured and the owner ([redacted]l) informed me that his company was fully insured. During the move, my leather couch was ripped in several places along with a table that was broken. The movers told me it would be fully repaired or exchanged. I called [redacted]l immediately and he confirmed the same. He told me that he would send me an insurance form to file the claim for my damaged property. I have since then followed up with [redacted]l who continued to say that the form was on its way and someone would contact me to estimate the damage. It is now 3 months later and [redacted]l no longer picks up his phone. In fact; the business phone can no longer accept messages. Despite my best efforts to resolve this issue in an efficient and amicable way, [redacted]l and P&R movers continue to evade my phone calls. I am an highly educated consumer and have used several moving companies. I simply want this company to honor the moving agreement. I would really appreciate the help of Revdex.com to resolve this issue.Desired Settlement: I would like P&R moving to either re-upholster the couch and fix the table or simply give me the $600 for the couch and $50 for my table.
