Review: Laptop was dropped off at business for a broken hinge causing intermittent power issues if bumped in the necessary manner. Employee [redacted] (last name refused to be given) determined that the entire case needed to be replaced. The case was replaced and the monitor no longer operated. I was informed that now a new motherboard would need to be purchased. Employee [redacted] gave me two options, either pay for the new motherboard or come pick up the now non-operational laptop.

I then asked to speak to someone who had the authority to address my uncomfortableness with those options. Employee [redacted] put me on hold and then came back to the phone and stated that the owner was not present and that I would have to call back in the morning. I asked for the owner's name and was told it was [redacted] but the last name was not known or able to be provided.

I asked [redacted] for other store indentification information and informed him that I would be contacting the Revdex.comDesired Settlement: I would like to see either the laptop returned to me in the working condition in which PC Land received the laptop, or PC Land to assume responsibility for the now non-operational motherboard and repair the laptop, charging me for only the labor and materials to replace the cover.

Our customer brought in her laptop for replacement of broken hinges and case bottom. After completing the repairs as requested, the laptop would only display to an external monitor but not to the internal screen. We inspected our work but could find no fault. We verified the issue persisted with a new internal display and connecting display cable. We researched the issue and found it to be a common problem for this specific model of laptop where the internal display fails for no apparent reason. It is well documented that even attempts to resolve this issue by replacing parts with new hardware are usually unsuccessful. This problem coincidentally occurred while the laptop happened to be in our shop and technically our repair work was totally unrelated. We explained the situation to the customer, informed her that an attempted fix may not work out, but in a gesture of good will, offered to cover the cost of an attempted fix. We indeed attempted the fix, but unfortunately it did not resolve the problem.We waived all labor charges and inquired if the customer would be interested in a discounted price on a new laptop. She declined but appreciated our efforts. In the end, the customer was satisfied that we had done everything in our power to resolve the problem and treat her fairly.

I had found them previously very helpful and had made many purchases. Had planned to purchase a computer case and some fans...Until today...it was clear from the moment I went through the door that the guy did not care what issue I was inquiring about and did not care to help me or the man who came in next. they must have too much money to be bothered..
