I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear belowHello,
The attached comments in which the business has replied with is falseThey did in fact damage our goods as we statedWe are continuing in our effort to gain what is rightfully ours and our bow involving the claims department head quarters Marine CorpsThis is not the first time the Marine Corps has had to step in with this exact businessThey have also noted that we have stated that the Marine Corps should avoid using them at all costWe still have not received a response or any communication via the owner, just someone on his behalf.
The fact that this was a military move means nothingThis business is discriminating against us because in fact my husband was granted a move that was paid for by the military which is his rightThe military may have moved us but we paid for the cost of our goods that this company ruined.

Review: I hired this company to move my family. When the estimator came through the house, he quoted me based on the high end and threw in an extra hour, just in case they needed it. This quote was based on them doing all the work. He assured me that I would be charged on an hourly basis so if it didn't take as long, I would only pay for the hours it took.

When the crew arrived, they brought an extra person for the job. They told me that they are "throwing him in to get it done faster". They did not explain that I would be charged a higher rate per hour for the extra person. I had completed a lot of the work myself that they had quoted me for in the original estimate ie: I took apart all beds and furniture and moved all open boxes, small items, etc. They should have completed this job in way less time then it took them. I feel that they took their time to get as close to the estimated number of hours as they could. I did not want the extra person because my home is not big and they would get into each others way.

My complaint is that they charged me for the extra person that was not approved before doing the work and billing me. If they would have told me upfront that there would be an additional charge, I would have been informed and made my decision before the work was done. I contacted the company the next week and they were very rude with me. He said that since they charged me under the quoted amount, they are already saving me money. They did only charge me for the number of hours they worked but at a higher rate then quoted. Since I did some of the work myself and they had an extra guy, it should not have been that many hours. Either way, I was not asking for hours off. I just did not want to pay the higher rate. He told me that I should be happy they saved me money and he has never had anyone complain about getting money back. He was extremely rude and raised his voice at me. His customer service was very unprofessional.Desired Settlement: I would like to be refunded the amount for the extra person they charge the higher per hour rate for.

Re: [redacted], [redacted]

Dear Sir/Madam,

This letter is in response to the complaint placed by [redacted]. We performed a physical estimate on April 26, 2013 at her residence in

[redacted], Ca. We gave her a written proposal of S 1680.00 for a local move. We put our proposal/estimate in writing and stand behind our

quotation (see attached estimate signed by [redacted])

The few casks the customer completed did not affect our quotation. She spent a lot of time packing, which was not included in our quotation

anyway. Breaking beds down for a professional mover is merely a matter of minutes.

We did decide to add the extra person which saved the customer money as detailed below:

The written quotation provided to the customer was:

4menX lohours@$ l68.005 1,680.00

1) We utilized the extra man which was

a) 4 men hours X $ 168.00 = $ 1260.00

I man hours X S 36.00 = 270.00

S 1530.00 (S 150.00 under the estimate) (See attached bill of lading No.[redacted])

2) If we had not used the extra man the hours would have been increased for the four men and calculated as follows:

b) 4 men @9.38 hours X 168.00 = S 1575.00 (S 105.00 under the estimate)

Our general manager spoke with the customer, he did not raise his voice, and however he was quite confused about the phone conversation.

He explained to her that she actually saved more money by having I man extra vs. the additional time for all four men. The customer did

not comprehend that the four men would not have completed the job in 7.5 hours, however S men could. This was a greater savings to the

customer. He did tell the customer this was the first time he ever had a complaint because a cUstomer saved money. It was not our intent to

offend Ms. [redacted]. We appreciate our customers and strive to do a great job so they call us for future moves. We provided a professional

local move, the cost savings was $ 150.00 and completed under the estimated time. In retrospect we should have advised the customer about

the extra man in advance of the move and detailed the savings aspect. Our labor decision was done in good faith and was intended to benefit

our customer. The customers goods were moved with the utmost care and our crew members were very professional as always.

Thank you,

Pack & Crate Services

Review: On February 28th 2014 Pack and Crate of Escondido provided moving services for my family. The move was from Mira Mesa to Pacific Beach. There were two movers assigned to the move. Everything they moved was inspected for damage prior to them moving anything. The items they moved were loaded into their moving truck in a hasty fashion because it had been raining on and off that day. The household items were all packed and loaded into one truck. The items were then transported to our new address and unloaded by the same two men again in a hasty fashion to avoid the rain. Upon inspection, there were four items that had been damaged. A 47 inch LCD television, two glass vases, and the lazy susan for our dining table. We followed the procedures outlined in our contract to report the damaged items. We waited for a response but none came so I called pack and crate. I was told that there was a process that had to happen and we should have our claim completed and a response sent to our address. I made a call every month proceeding the initial claim which was completed and sent in March 2014. Every time I called I received the same response, I can not see the details of the claim, I need to ask the owner but he is not here. It is now, eight months after the fact and still no answers to our claim. This is very bad business and unethical behavior.Desired Settlement: I need to be reimbursed for the items that the movers of this company damaged. In the contract and agreement, they assume responsibility for items damaged or broken by their movers.

Review: This company moved our belongings back in July 2015. We had 70 days to file our forms stating what was damaged and broken. After mailing in the form I was told they didn't receive it but could fill it out online and email it back. I did this within a timely manner and waited to hear from them. After hearing nothing for weeks ai began calling. 3 times I was told our paperwork was waiting for approval, twice I was told it was waiting to be signed by the owner, twice I was told it our claims check was being mailed, and after calling on a Friday I was told the check was being mailed on monday. 3 weeks later we still had not received anything. 3 days in a row I called and was told I would need to speak to the owner, all 3 times I was told no one knew where he was but he would call me back. A week later and I have heard nothing. I have also emailed the company.Desired Settlement: Our claim check needs to be mailed to us in the full desired amount as it is an honest claim of items their movers damaged and broke.
