Pain Specialist Center Reviews (1)

I hurt my back in September [redacted] Long story short, I had an MRIS done & was referred to Dr. [redacted] at the pain specialist center in Jackson approximately an hour & a half from where I live. It takes me a month & a half to get in for an appt which is fine. I go to my first appt &Dr [redacted] asks me a bunch of questions which I answer honestly. He proceeds to say he wants to do a nerve block procedure which I agreed for pain relief because at the time I seen Dr. [redacted] I had been in chronic pain with 2 bulging discs on my sciatic nerve for nearly 5 months. I walk into their office and Im literally crawling out bawling my eyes out! Dr [redacted] did not wait for the lidocaine to kick in. He literally stuck the lidocaine needle in my back and as soon as he pulled it out stuck me with another needle in which he hit my nerve! I felt every single bit & I was in severe pain! He walks out of the room and starts seeing other patients and told the nurses to tell me what I was feeling was normal. I accepted that because it was actually my first nerve block & I wasn't sure what I was supposed to be feeling. They told me to call the office if the pain did not go away or if the pain got worse within the next 48 hours and told me to lay flat on my back for the next 24 hours so that the nerve block works properly. I did everything that they had told me & I woke up the next morning and could hardly move and was in excruciating pain. I called the office & they asked me to leave a msg with the nurses desk and they would get back to me before the end of the day! I left my information on their voicemail and waited for their return call. NOTHING! Called the next 2 days with the same result. The 4th day they called me back and wanted me to come In immediately. I came I & they wanted me have another MRI. Went for the MRI and paid my deductible, but to come back to dr [redacted] I have to pay $350 before being seen! I notified them that I had already met my deductible & I couldn't be seen!! Poor patient care!!!!!Desired SettlementI would like to be notified of my MRI results! I asked the insurance lady if I could possibly pay half the day of my appt for my results and she said no! I even asked them if I could pay my deductible up front on my first visit and was told no! I want an apology from Dr [redacted] himself! When he became a doctor he was swore in to an oath to care for his patients and he has broke that with me and many other patients!!!!Business Response Response to your complain to Revdex.com: 1.We apologize that the $336.50 which is part of your deductible was not collected prior to be see as it requirement by your insurance. Your deductible is what you have agreed with your insurance. I will make sure that this is corrected and patients are asked to pay their deductible prior to be seen.2. The issue that you were asked to pay another deductible by [redacted] was incorrect and it was because computers at your insurance had not updated your visit with us. Unfortunately there is a lot of issues with present insurance billing.3. Records show that you left a message on [redacted] and [redacted] and they were answered 4. Your appointment on [redacted] to discuss your progress and [redacted] findings (you had an x ray not [redacted] available on your first visit)was cancelled by you5. My staff had to work to get your [redacted] approve and schedule promptly. 6 We will mail you a copy of your [redacted] report7. Hope you do well and we will institute changes as noted to avoid confusion. Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)I did leave a message on [redacted] and [redacted] I called on [redacted] but I was prompted not to leave a message and the nurses will get to the first message as soon as they can. I still was not contacted back on [redacted] so I called and left another message while I was still in excruciating pain from the procedure that your office did! I did not get called back until [redacted] I told the nurses AND the doctor about my Friday [redacted] and the doctor said he will get it before the procedure. I had the procedure, came back on [redacted] after all of the messages I left, and the doctor still hadn't seen my 1st [redacted]. Why they didn't document this information is beyond me! I didn't cancel my appointment with your office. I couldn't pay another deductible amount for my RESULTS and your office told me "then we are sorry we can't see you without meeting your deductible" it wasn't like that for any of the other Doctor visits I came in for so why all of a sudden?! This office is only about money. They have broken the patient doctor oath and since my horrible experience have had to go to 2 different Doctor's to try to get my back better from the nerve block that this facility did! The staff was rude in trying to figure out a solution, with the exception of 1 insurance lady!
