Cost $ 347.93(2) Company failed to acquire proper authorization for additional charges.Company used an initialed addendum of (Freight may be additional) as authorization to charge an additional$389.14(3) Company charged a fee for a service and failed to provide customer with information as described. Company failed to advise customer on condition of tires and brakes either verbally or in writing as per repair order. Also, after servicing, the customer had to leave trailer because the trailer brakes did not work and added another 150 unnecessary miles driven. Returned, and trailer brakes still not operating as well as when trailer brought in but took trailer anyway. Had to take trailer to another facility to have brakes inspected. Company found brake issues described in repair order.Desired Settlement: Refund for unauthorized charges and Pan Pacific to be responsible for brake repair to be done by another facility.

On 9/17/2014, Mr. [redacted] dropped his trailer, VIN ending in [redacted], at our French Camp location and requested that we replace his delaminating front cap, repack his wheel bearings, and perform a free inspection of his roof to determine if any maintenance was required. I advised him that the front cap and bearing pack would total $2120 plus tax and freight. I also communicated to him that the freight for the cap varied by vendor and that the cost was generally high due to the large size of the item being replaced. I then noted the price plus tax and that freight would be additional in the estimate box of the work order and had the customer initial that he understood. We shortly began working on the trailer, replaced the front cap and cleaned and repacked the bearings and adjusted the brakes to the clearance that we would normally set brakes for any trailer with that style brakes. We also inspected the roof and noted that it needed minor spot sealing on the transition moldings and recommended to the customer that we coat the roof with UV protectant, which he agreed to later on 9/17. Mr. [redacted] also requested that we supply him with a table base to replace his existing table setup. We performed repairs and advised customer that he could pick up the completed unit. When Mr. [redacted] arrived to pick up the trailer he appeared satisfied with the repairs at first sight and came inside to pay his bill after inspection. Before settling up I explained all charges and advised Mr. [redacted] that his brakes were in good shape. While paying his bill he expressed concern that the freight for the cap was higher than he expected, I explained that freight costs are out of our control and that we only look to cover our costs, this seemed to settle his concern. At 3:30pm Mr. [redacted] walked out of the dealership and appeared to be content with repairs. Shortly after 5:00 he returned and advised me that he was concerned that the brakes were not adjusted as we had indicated on the work order. I was not able to look into his concerns because it was after business hours and all of my technicians had gone home for the day. I advised [redacted] that I would make it my first priority in the morning and would let him know what I found. The following morning I had the tech that repacked the bearings and my shop foreman remove the wheels and re-inspect the brakes and they identified no problems with the brakes but did adjust them ½ turn tighter per the customer request. [redacted] picked up the trailer a few days later and I again apologized to him for any inconvenience and assured him that the brakes were in good working order. He took the trailer. A few weeks later [redacted] sent me an email telling me that the UV coat that we installed on the roof had gotten on the skylight and I assured him that we would gladly clean it for him if he brought it down at his convenience. He declined to bring it in. In response to the repair order for Happy Daze Rv’s that he attached to his complaint: The bearings were repacked and the brakes adjusted twice in as many days. My shop foreman that has 15 years of experience was involved in the second time and assures me that there were no issues with the brakes. If there had been any issues with the brakes it would have been in our best interest to advise the customer and gain the work. Brake adjustments have specifications but can be tailored to a customer’s personal preference. If they prefer to have them tighter than specified they can have them that way at the risk of wearing out the pad excessively fast. Unless otherwise requested, we adjust brakes to the manufacturer specs. Happy Daze refers to a different silicone applied at the ends of the transition molding on the roof. We use Dicor self-leveling sealant throughout any rubber roof resealing that we do however, if you install Dicor on the very ends of the transition moldings it will run down the side of the trailer or at least show runs due to its consistency. To prevent this we use another silicone that is purchased from another RV manufacturer just on the ends over the Dicor. This is a practice that we have found to be common through the industry. The trailer was not taken to Happy Daze until more than two months after repairs were completed. [redacted] did not have any of his issues repaired despite the concern of a failure in the braking system, a major safety issue if truly not working properly. It is of great concern to us that we send trailers down the road in good working order and safe for owners and other travelers. I made myself available to [redacted] whenever he needed and allowed him to voice his concerns. We would make right any issues that we were responsible for but many of the issues he addresses were first addressed to us in the Revdex.com complaint. I spoke to the condition of the brakes with [redacted] personally but he states that nobody discussed it with him. I explained the tire condition to him as well. I took great care to ensure that he was aware of all charges and had him sign for them. Ultimately, we apologize to Mr. [redacted] for any inconvenience that he may have suffered as a result of the work that was completed here. I don’t feel that we let him down but apologize if we did.

Response:

I am rejecting this response because: [redacted], as per our phone conversation I believe I know what the final outcome will be regarding my complaint against Pan Pacific RV and [redacted] but feel compelled to respond to [redacted]'s description of our interaction in his "Message From Business" (See Attachment for referred Sections)Section 1/2 , Brought trailer to [redacted] for a Physical inspection of the bubbles in front of trailer at his request. Arrived late afternoon on 9/17/14. [redacted] looked and noted the bubbles were worse than he first thought after I sent a picture via e-mail. He said it was very common for the year make and model of my trailer and that they had done numerous cap replacements there and suggested it be done before any water damage occurred, gave me an estimate for repair and I agreed to have it repaired. He then asked about the trailers service history of which I had no knowledge of. He recommended a wheel bearing repack and brake inspection, gave me an estimate and I agreed to have the service performed. He then recommended a UV service on the rubber roof to which I declined because I have a trailer cover (actually 2) and keep it covered. At that time I inquired about a new dining table base (one that collapsed) and he said we'd have to talk to the parts dept.. A repair order was written and at that time the parts dept. could not find any info on the table base I wanted and I would be contacted later. I did initial and sign the repair order while multiple items were being discussed (LED Light bulbs, 12 volts vs 6 volt batteries, solar charging systems and the table base), however AT NO TIME DID [redacted] EVER MENTION SHIPPING OF ANY KIND MUCH LESS AS DESCRIBED IN HIS RESPONSE. [redacted] also stated he noted that freight WOULD BE additional in the estimate box but actually noted Freight MAY BE additional. I received a call from [redacted] at 5:10 pm at which time he informed me the parts dept. had found the price of the new table base and that it was $ 147.00 to which I requested they get me one. When I inquired as to he cost to install it he said he would do it free of charge (phone records show it was a 4 min. call). NOTE, [redacted]'S RESPONSE LETTER STATES THAT HE CALLED ME AND AQUIRED AUTHORIZATION TO DO A SPOT SEAL AND UV PROTECTANT BUT THE REPAIR DETAIL SHEET PROVIDED BY PAN PACIFIC ONLY MENTIONS APPROVAL FOR $175.00 SPOT SEAL, MENTIONS NO UV PROTECTANT, HAS NO TIME STAMP AND COULD HAVE BEEN PRODUCED AT ANY TIME. I DID NOT AUTHORIZE ANY ROOF WORK.Section 3/4/5. NOT QUITE THE WAY [redacted] DESCRIBES IT.... 10/09/14 We arrived at Pan Pacific around 3:45 pm went directly to service (NO INSPECTION) where we were met by Howard, told him we were there to pick up our trailer. He got the paper work and said the bill was $ 2,844.76 and my immediate response was why so much (NO EXPLANATION OF CHARGES). Howard stated that he did not know and went and got [redacted]. When he got there I asked him why the bill was so high. At that point things went bad as I was furious that a shipping bill was so high and I had not been informed of such. [redacted] said that he'd informed me of the possibly of shipping charges and I said he had not and a bit of an argument ensued with the entire focus on the non authorized shipping charges. After a period of time the discussion was going nowhere, paid the bill under protest (paid @ 4:11pm)to get my trailer, angrily walked out and went to get the trailer. Hooked up and tried to set the electric trailer brakes for proper braking and discovered that the trailer brakes did dot work at all. That required that I go back and deal with [redacted] to which he said you'll have to leave it and we'll look at it tomorrow. Left the trailer reluctantly. Went home and looked over the paperwork and found the unauthorized roof work. Returned late afternoon on 10/10/14 after a call from [redacted] saying it was ready and when I asked him what was found regarding the brakes he said they just readjusted them (AT NO TIME DID I REQUEST A PERSONAL PREFERENCE BRAKE ADJUSTMENT). Hooked up the trailer and tested the trailer brakes and there was still something wrong with them. I was very angry and went inside to confront [redacted]. Again the interaction with [redacted] was not a good one. Among accusations of unethical business practices, fraud for doing unauthorized roof work, the fact that the trailer brakes worked better before they had touched them and while expressing my self in a loud tone or what he described as yelling he no longer wanted to deal with me so I said that I rue the day that I had them work on my trailer and that they would never see me again as a customer and we left. Saturday 10/11/14 I found damage done by Pan Pacific.....Called Bureau of Automotive Repair on 10/13/14 and asked for proper direction with all the issues with Pan Pacific which were unauthorized repair where ultimately I decided not to pursue at this time because I did receive a service that does benefit the roof and I would wait because I had time to dispute it later, legally, lack of authorization for charges and damage as the representative of BAR recommended a lawsuit if I did not get the satisfaction I desired.Section 6, 1. [redacted] states no brake issues however the right side rear brake assy. was found with grease inside the hub cavity. There was no retention clip holding the magnet in place and the magnet is covered in grease. It appears at one time someone over greased the bearings. Pan Pacific deemed it unnecessary to inform me of this. I can only conclude they felt it was a non issue, however multiple RV facilities said it was an issue and the brake assemblies should be replaced.Section 6, 2. Absurd, I requested no personal preference brake adjustment. Section 6, 3 I cannot say one way or the other on this subject. Section 6, 4/5. Brought trailer home and put in the back yard and did not touch again for one month. Pulled trailer out for use on vacation and something was not right with brakes so we left it home (AN ADDED COST OF $525.00). Came home from vacation and spent hours on the phone with the BAR which stated I needed written inspection from an authorized facility and multiple RV facilities discussing the brake issue and found it hard to get an appointment in a timely manner or find a reasonable inspection fee. Found Happy Daze that said they would so I took it there where they found the grease in the brake hub said it needed to be replaced , gave me an estimate and I agreed to the work. Went home and made a call to Capital One and had a lengthy discussion. Called the BAR the next morning and spoke with them regarding proper protocol and that it would ultimately cost me if I had Happy Daze do the work. I called Happy Daze to inform them of my situation and work was stopped. they returned the trailer to its condition when brought in and charged me nothing.Section 7. NO DISCUSSIONS OR EXPLANATIONS AND I TOLD [redacted] I DID NOT WANT THE TO TOUCH MY TRAILER Pictures of trailer with cover and bake assy. with grease available if required or wanted.

We purchased a 2015 Keystone Cougar fifth wheel trailer in mid November of 2015 from Pan Pacific, French Camp, CA. We have made 2 monthly payments on it and have only had it in our position about a week. We took it in for repairs a week after we took delivery of it. When we picked it up a second time there were items that we had ask to be done that were still not done. We took it out for its first camping trip and made another list of items for repairs. We took it back to the dealer on 11/28 with the list of repair and as of today, 12/21 still had not heard from them on the status of repairs. I finally called them to find out the status and was told that it would not be completed until "MAYBE" the 1st week of January. They had just dispatched it and would have to diagnose what the problems were and then submit them to the manufacture for approval to repair and that it could take a while with approval to repair. We are fed up with the process and the lack of communication. I just regret the fact that we traded a 2008 cougar that was in better shape than the 2015.

Review: I was not informed of a warranty repair that took place on or about the day I purchased this RV as is required under California Vehicle Code 9991. I was informed of a windshield replacement. I was informed of this repair by [redacted] the finance person. As I was told by her and later found to be true, the dealer must disclose any and all warranty repairs made to the vehicle , in writing, prior to the execution of the sales contract. I was hesitant to purchase a brand new vehicle that had an after market windshield replacement but I was reassured by [redacted] that this was not unsusal and they had nothing to hide since they were disclosing it. Within 12 days of owning the vehicle we had our first rain. The vehicle roof leaked a significant amount of water into the passenger compartment and I could hear a large amount of water that remained trapped sloshing between the walls. I called the dealer and drove to their Sacramento facility to have the roof inspected and patched. I was told that the water between the walls would 'just have to dry out'. I was later told by [redacted], GM for the [redacted] store that these types of leaks were 'not unusual'. I called the manufacturer ,[redacted] , to inquire as to the leak issues and was told they were very uncommon. It was at that time [redacted] from [redacted], informed me of a warranty repair made to the 'refer panel' due to a "leaking copper pipe behind the fridge ". This is the warranty repair that was made prior my signing the sales contract that I was NEVER informed of and would have made every difference in my decision to purchase this vehicle. I believe Pan Pacific behaved in a fraudulent manner during the course of this transaction. I'm seeking either a refund or a replacement vehicle. I've had a multitude of issues requiring many repairs , including further water intrusion into the vehicle.

The potential for mold issues to develop are significant and pose a health hazard particularly since I have a history of asthma.Desired Settlement: Rescinding of the contract, a full refund or a replacement vehicle of equal purchase value.

Response:

Ms. [redacted] unit initially developed a leak due to a small void in the roof sealant ant the front roof transition molding. Our Sacramento facility inspected and installed new sealant to fix the problem so that Ms. [redacted] could continue her trip. At the end of her trip we re-inspected the unit and found no residual water and no water damage from the initial leak. We additionally at that time ordered two other parts for warranty repair: an exterior refer panel and slide out wood facia. Neither of these parts failures were due to water intrusion. The copper tubing that she referenced did not have a leak but was bowed out which put pressure on the refer panel resulting in a bow in the panel. She is mistaken about the disclosure issues as it relates to California motor vehicle law. Disclosures required relate to vehicles that have incurred damage due to accidents. Forest River and Pan Pacific RV are both committed to resolving any issues that may develop down the road as a result of the initial leak.[redacted]GMPan Pacific RV Centers Inc.

Response:

I am rejecting this response because:I am rejecting this response because: The law is clear with regard to disclosure , in writing prior to the signing of the sales contract, any and all warranty repairs made to any vehicle. Nowhere does it specify, only damage from an accident. To quote your own finance person [redacted], regarding disclosure of the replacement of the windshield , " I am required by law to disclose any and all repairs made to the RV ." I have verified that to be true under the California vehicle code. I dispute your claim that the RV was checked for residual water. It was not. There are a plethora of things wrong with this vehicle and none of them were noted or repaired. The vo the slide trim needed to be repeated do to poor workmanship. My vehicle was returned to me after almost two weeks with new damage and many issues that were not attended to but could have been if Pan Pacific had done its due diligence. There is new water intrusion.

Review: I took my trailer to Pan Pacific for a followup repair. My insurance company was paying for the repair. The paneling inside the front cabinet was separating. They told me they would order the parts and repair it. A couple weeks later they called for me to pick it up. When I inspected the repair I discivered that it was a substandard job. Instead of matching the curve inside the cabinet, they installed a straight piece of paneling from corner to corner. This reduced the cabinet space by 1/6. It also reduced the usable space by more than 1/3. When I questioned this, I was told "parts were no longer available for this. " The "parts" consist of a piece of paneling. This is available at any lumber supply store. I told them they should have contacted me and asked permission to do this. I told them I wanted it done right or put it back the way it was and I'll take it elsewhere. They are refusing to do the job correctly. They said I must sign the insurance check or they won't release my trailer to me.

This is the 3rd botched repair they have done. Since they did the original repair, I thought I needed to go back there for the follow up work. I did not know I could take my trailer elsewhere or I would have.Desired Settlement: I want this fixed correctly.

Re: Revdex.com Complaint [redacted] 12/23/2015 To Whom It May Concern: Mr. [redacted] purchased a 2013 Fun Finder travel trailer from us in July of 2014. In November of 2014 he brought the trailer in for an insurance repair that resulted from him flooding his trailer with the contents of his septic tank through his roof. We made an estimate to repair the unit, received approval from his insurance company, and repaired per our estimate. In April of 2015 he brought the trailer back for extended warranty repairs of his axle and slideout mechanism. We repaired these issues and sent him on his way after collecting his deductible and demonstrating the completed work. Mr. [redacted] did not indicate to us in either case that there were any issues with the repairs. On November 13 of this year he brought in the trailer again and stated that the back panel inside a front cabinet on the front wall of the trailer was still damaged and was not replaced during the November 2014 repair. We submitted an estimate to his insurance company, who approved the work and both Geico and the customer authorized us to proceed. We found that the panel inside of the cabinet was not available. We replaced his panel with one that was the same color and of the same material. The original paneling was curved from the manufacturer and to replicate the exact curve of the paneling is not possible without wood manipulation tooling. The loss of cabinet space is minimal if even noticeable and the repair was done to the best of our capabilities. We even sourced the opinion of a nationwide RV trainer with 25+ years of experience who agreed that the repair was satisfactory. The customer has since refused to take the trailer. We have contacted his insurance company to inform them of the status of the repair. [redacted] Service Team Coordinator Pan Pacific RV

Response:

I am rejecting this response because: Hi my name is [redacted].I did not get a chance to respond to pan Pacific's response. They responded that they did not have the correct parts or the correct tools to do the job. This is not acceptable.I want them to undo the work that they did and give me my money back so that I can take this somewhere else and have it fixed properly Or I want to take it somewhere else and have the repair done and have Pan Pacific pay for it to be repaired properly. Thank you[redacted]

Response:

The repair was completed per the insurance estimate. If the customer wishes to secure the paneling which is unavailable to us, we would be more than happy to make the repair under a supplemental insurance claim. [redacted]
