"Thank you for shopping at Sierra Sewing Quilting & Vacuums. Sierra Sewing Quilting &...

Vacuums reserves the right to request an I.D. during any transaction and deny any refunds, exchange, or price adjustment for any sale or return of merchandise."
This printed statement on the face of her receipt fulfills the first choice of the Nevada NRS 598.092.
According to the Federal Trade Commission website, the following is what the cooling off period pertains too:
"The FTC's Cooling-Off Rule gives you a 3-day right to cancel a sale made at your home, workplace or dormitory, or at a seller's temporary location, like a hotel, or motel room, convention center, fairground or restaurant. It also applies when you invite a salesperson to make a presentation in your home. But not all sales are covered."
The customer was shown and sold a serger in our brick and mortar store. She took full possession of the machine. When she returned, she stated her husband bought her a different model in California, but she didn't need two machines. As an industry standard, once a machine is taken possession of, they are not returnable. As a courtesy, we took back the machine, but charged a restocking fee to cover expenses. According to our credit card processor, their fee is much more than $1.75.
We would be more than happy to give her entire amount back in the form of a gift card.

Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 7, 2017/10/07) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
I would accept the remainder of the refund, $303.13 less $3.50 for a transaction fee in the form of a gift card. However, the way this is worded for the 'entire amount' leads me to believe they would attempt to card my card again and then give a gift card to their business. So I would need clarity on what they are offering at this point.
