I am rejecting this response because: There is no need for a mediator, once *** *** claimed I did not have a shift kit and that his shop never touched my drive-line.If you wanted a happy customer, you should not have replaced my custom drive terrain with one of your choice. You should have rebuilt "my" transmission like *** *** was contracted to doThat and only that, like Steve Sandstrom would have done, known for his skill and integrity.I know my truck pretty well for an old gal, I just drove it across states, like many other times, and did not have any engine issues, cold starting or other wise.A couple of weeks before I brought it to you, my transmission (while shifter was in overdrive position) it began requiring me to shift gears, by lifting my foot, off the fuel peddle, lowering the RPM's to make it shift into or out of any gears, except reverse, always worked regular.I drove it all over that way, in fact, I drove it to you on the freeway, and up the steep skyline drive using this RPM method. My truck did not come to you on a tow truck! And Strange thing is, there was never any lugging or clanking or seizing either, very odd.But none of this matters now anyway, does it?Since "my" transmission was replaced with one of your choice.Thank You!*** ***

Review: My transmission was shifting erratically, took it to Paradise Transmission on 8/12/2014 for diagnosis, they claimed it needed a rebuild on 8/14/2014. They were told I wanted to see my transmission and I wanted all my used parts, told this to [redacted] on phone as well as the young man with red hair and glasses about 23 years old when I viewed my parts. They claimed it was done on 8/18/2014. I took it for a test drive before paying and the perfectly excellent running engine, I had brought them was now, blowing black smoke and Lugging and choking and dieing. Showed this to Josiah, took him for a drive he stated the truck had a fuel problem and that was not his problem. I had to pay them or [redacted] would not release the truck to me. Took me 2 and 1/2 hours to drive it back to [redacted].I changed the fuel filter and cleaned the air filter, and then it was 7:30 ish and dark. The next morning, I drove truck and it still dies, I discovered bolts were missing on the transmission, there were greasy rags wrapped around the starter setting on the exhaust, the starter was also not re-mounted correctly or in its bracket, the dip stick was raised out of the pan about 2", it was over full, my 4 x4 drive-line had a big shiny area were something was missing, there was two huge welds on my cross over exhaust were they had cut it and welded on it.All my custom drive-line, transfer case accessories were now gone and replaced with old rotten inferior carrier bearing and u joint drive-line parts. They stole everything that was good and strong and replaced with old and inferior. They did not give me any used parts at all, they replaced my standard transmission fluid with synthetic fluid, without my knowledge or permission, they cut and welded on my exhaust system with out my knowledge or permission.Josiah claimed there was nothing missing and they never touched my drive-line or my starter, and that I never had a shift kit. They also will not honor their 3 yr or 50,000 mile nationwide warrentee, told me on 10/9/14Desired Settlement: They are thieves, unprofessional, unethical and very mean to talk to. Duane yells and can not tell the truth. Everything about them is duck and cover, Josiah continually states they didn't touch that, they didn't see it, nothing is missing.I do not want them to ever touch my truck again. I am afraid of them, as well as, do not trust them, or their work.I allowed them to fix their miss takes one time and one time only, they were told this. I had friends present. Didn't offer up missing parts

Review: Failure to follow through with warranty. Had a transmission rebuild November of 2014 done, covered with a three year warranty. Transmission blew up January of 2016. Transmission was pulled by my preferred shop, [redacted] Performance in [redacted], then sent to Paradise Transmission who did the rebuild, for evaluation and warranty. Water was found in the tranny, and warranty was voided. They quoted a price of $1,100.00 to rebuild it. I had originally paid $1,800.00 for the rebuild. [redacted] brought back the tranny, and made notes, rebuilding it themselves. Causing me to have to pay for parts for another rebuild, and [redacted] shops time, following through a warranty that was not theirs. [redacted] Transmission Assembly - remove, install and overhaul - 4WD Jeep came in with transmission issues. When driven, 2nd and 3rd gear were not engaging, would just slip. Pulled and sent tranny to paradise transmission, in their evaluation water was found and they voided warranty. Transmission was sent back to [redacted] shop, where [redacted] tore apart transmission and made an evaluation before rebuilding themselves. Water had been found in various parts of the transmission, there was (no) evidence that water had invaded the clutch packs and delaminated them, the clutches were just slipping. The only place water would be able to get into the transmission is though the dipstick tube, but the vehicle could not have been submerged in water deep enough for that to have happened. Further evaluation concluded, that the source of water intrusion was at the main electrical connector at the valve body. The seals were not sealing and allowing water in, if seals had been properly replaced in the first rebuild, this would not have happened. [redacted] rebuilt transmission, now drives and shifts normally, no more problems. I am infuriated, that it cost my time and money, arguing with Paradise Transmission to follow through, leaving me without a vehicle for several weeks.Desired Settlement: That my money be refunded, due to lack of integrity in this business transaction and failure to follow through with eligible warranty.

In regards to the denial of warranty to [redacted] performance. When shop originally contacted me about 8 months prior to the transmission coming back to shop for warranty work they were having trouble codes for a tcc issue. They originally asked Paradise Transmissions if the electrical was covered under warranty. Paradise Transmissions informed them that warranty only cover parts replaced per repair order. If Paradise Transmission had replaced those parts then yes there was a warranty coverage on failed parts. After review of invoice the transmission electrical components had not been replaced so there was no coverage on those components. Paradise Transmissions offered [redacted] Performance to bring vehicle to repair shop to see if it was an electrical issue or a mechanical issue. They at that point in time decided to replace tcc and overdrive solenoid because they had some other repairs to do on vehicle. This solenoid set comes with a new internal wiring harness. Standard procedure when replacing these solenoids is to due a valvebody removal and replace both solenoids and wiring harness. After a couple of months Paradise Transmission gets a phone call from [redacted] Performance stating that transmission is slipping. Paradise transmission informs [redacted] Performance to bring transmission up so we can do a teardown and inspect to determine cause of failure. Transmission shows up around 3:30 at shop to have inspection performed. Paradise Transmission says that we will get transmission on teardown bench in the next couple of days to perform inspection for cause of failure. The very next morning [redacted] Performance before 9:00 am [redacted] Performance calls to see what diagnosis is. Inform them that there is a couple transmission that are in need of inspection that were there before them and that they will receive a phone call as soon as transmission has been inspected. Same day at 4:00 Paradise Transmission receives a phone call again inquiring on status of transmission. Inform them that transmission will be getting toredown first thing in morning. Next morning arrives and before 8:30 am get another phone call from [redacted] Performance inquiring on status. Inform them that shop has just opened and transmission will be toredown within the hour. Upon initial removal of transmission pan first thing that is seen is that the solenoids that were replaced that they wires had been cut and butt connected. Again proper procedure would have been to replace the internal wiring harness that they claim is the source of water contamination. In the 24 years of repairing transmission Paradise Transmissions has never seen or heard of water entering in thru the sealed case connector. As teardown was being performed started seeing signs of water contamination even though the was fresh fluids in transmission. The transmission filter which is a Dacron (fiber) style material showed signs of water being pulled thru it e.g. rust on the metal body and the material had also started breaking down and sucking itself flat. When pump was disassembled which I will attach pictures of there was rust contamination and also water and transmission fluid coagulated together in pockets of pump. Again there was fresh fluid in transmission which indicated that transmission fluid had been flushed out prior to transmission being removed and brought to Paradise Transmissions for warranty repairs. The reason for bringing up the fresh fluid in transmission is that someone had tried removing water contaminated fluid to hide the water contamination. Paradise Transmission called [redacted] Performance to inquire about the possibility of water getting in transmission due to either a failed radiator or vehicle getting submersed in water. [redacted] Performance at that point denied any of those chances and stated that we had informed them to change radiator when the transmission was rebuilt , at no point in time had Paradise Transmissions informed them to replace radiator. We never had vehicle at our repair facility so there would be no way for us to recommend to replace a faulty radiator. Paradise Transmission informed [redacted] Performance that warranty doesn't cover a water damaged transmission. [redacted] Performance then requested the warranty to be upheld due to the fact that it was one of their really good customers and that they want to stay in good standing with customer. Paradise Transmission again stated that the transmission was done as a bench job and that there had been steps taken to cover up the water contamination and that water damaged transmissions are not covered under warranty as to either a radiator had failed or vehicle had been submerged. [redacted] Performance then stated that they were done doing business with us and that they would be taking their business elsewhere. 2 weeks later dean [redacted] from [redacted] Performance called to say that they pressure tested transmission and found that the case connector and dipstick were leaking water into transmission. Being in the transmission industry it is known that there is no way to pressure test a transmission. It would be impossible to plug all the vents and sealed areas. The vent is in the pump body which is located in front of torque converter which would make it impossible to plug and seal both front pump and transmission vent. In many ways thru this ordeal with warranty on transmission [redacted] Performance has shown themselves to not be forth coming with all information regarding reason for water contamination. Paradise Transmission regretted to inform them that there is no warranty on a transmission failure due to installer errors , failed external components (radiator, computers or blown cooling lines as examples). If the failure would have been due to a part or work performed by Paradise Transmissions then we would've gladly honored the warranty. If their stance is that water was coming in thru the electrical connector then that also falls back onto them due to the fact that they didn't change out the internal wiring that is part of the tcc and overdrive solenoid. They instead of replacing wiring harness they did a crimp butt connector instead of replacing complete wiring and solenoid assembly. Due to all these points Paradise Transmission cannot extend warranty or a reimbursement of money for the prior overhaul. If there is any further questions please contact me at [redacted] or respond by email. Paradise Transmissions will be closed Friday 3/18/16 and also Monday 3/21/16 any point in time before or after those dates we will be available for contact purposes.
