Review: On August 13, 2014 I gave a deposit for $1,000.00 to buy a car, but then decided not to buy it for now, I went to the dealer and told them to refund my money and they said can not return my deposit because are store policy.I hope the Paramus Chevrolet refund my money back with your help Revdex.com.Desired Settlement: Refund of $1,000.00 deposit

Review: We left a $500 deposit on a car we wanted to purchase. When the deal did not pan out we requested that our deposit be refunded. We were told it would be processed right away, and it has still not been. We have contacted our bank and they have no record of this refund being processed by Paramus Chevrolet. [redacted] from Paramus Chevy stated that we "should be patient" and that our bank was "floating" our money and claims that they did process the refund. As of now he is not responding to my email requesting a receipt or confirmation of the credit being processed as he told me it was on 7/17. He has been very rude and acting like this is no big deal. I requested that he refund the money on Thursday, 7/10, today is Tuesday 7/22, it would never take 12 days to process back a charge. I am very dissatisfied with this dealership and the sales man [redacted].Desired Settlement: I would like for my debit card to be refunded the $500 that was owed back to me by Paramus Chevrolet.

wanted to lease a Chevy Traverse and went to the dealership in May to check their vaunted low price deals. They welcomed me very professionally but that was about it. As soon as I started asking for specific details of the numbers it threw them off. I had done a very good homework about all the numbers of leasing a car. They started giving me numbers that did not add up. The only thing they were interested in was how much I was ready to pay per month. That is the oldest trick in the leasing book.
When I asked the manager Brent what the money factor rate was his answer, "Gee I don't know, I haven't gotten that question in a while. Let me check for you." He never came back into the room and I dealt with only the sales guys Andrew S from then on. A manager that does not know the current money factor/interest rate but is happily quoting monthly rates...Come on!!!
Anyway, I kid you not but Andrew left the room every time (~10 times) I asked for a number, saying he did not know and had to ask his supervisor. A salesperson who is there to smile and just put some number in front of the customer without knowing what anything means!! Anyway their final offer was approximately $50/month more than the offer I had on the table with another dealer. When I mentioned the lower offer they insulted me by saying that it was a very suspicious offer. Finally when I mentioned that their numbers were not adding up they asked me to leave, as I was 'occupying too much of their time' and they had to 'attend to other customers'. At that time there were 4 other sales reps standing alone without a single customer in sight.
I have since gotten a great lease deal on the higher Traverse model and ended up buying it. Paramus Chevrolet is the worst dealership experience I had. I am in the process of reporting them to consumer affairs department.

Review: The offer I was given when I purchased a 2013 Chevy Cruze in 2012 from Paramus Chevrolet is not being honored. The offer, in writing says “1st Oil Charge Free + Every 3rd oil change free for life + 1 free oil change as well per year”. I got my first oil change free with no problem. When I had brought my car in for the second oil change (which was in 2013) I was told it wasn’t free, and had to push and eventually [redacted] got it taken care of so that it was free. I was then told the full offer was now on my record so I wouldn’t have any more issues. However, I scheduled an appointment online in January & put a reminder about the offer & that it should be free, since I unfortunately expected there may be an issue. I also sent [redacted] an e-mail with the same note that I put in the online scheduler to help try to reduce the chance of an issue. I received a call from [redacted] in Service who told me it’s not free & eventually transferred me to [redacted]. I explained the situation & he said he would talk to them.

He replied back to my e-mail & told me that after he spoke to [redacted] & the service manager that “…they both concluded that you would get every third oil change free and an additional one free per year but you do have to pay for the oil changes in between the free ones.” I was also told in a follow up by [redacted] “I have been over ridden by the service dept. they said you have to pay for the next two oil changes then the next one would be free and you can get your next one free for the year and then every 3rd oil change free for life. That is how it has to be I was told by service.” That to me, makes it seem like he did agree with me how the offer should be handled, which is the impression I got when I first spoke to him on the phone (otherwise I would have thought he’d tell me he didn’t agree upfront & not go talk to them like he did – after all, he is the one who gave & wrote the offer to us.Desired Settlement: What makes this worse is the offer was done because we felt we were in a bait & switch at the [redacted]e we were buying the car. We needed a car after Sandy destroyed both of ours. I talked about the specific car we wanted (options, colors & pricing) & said we’re getting a ride to come pick up the car with check in hand. When we got there we were told the car had more options on it so the price was higher, even though that was already discussed. This was offered, as well as a gas card (which also never came, until recently they filled up my gas tank for me instead).

I would like to be refunded for the oil change that I paid for, which was the 3rd oil change & assured that I will receive the offer as written, which would include that my next oil change is free since I'm supposed to get every 3rd oil change free, plus 1 free oil change per year. I feel at this point to go through this hassle they should do something to compensate for the [redacted]e & aggravation, but I don't expect that to happen.

Review: IN DECEMBER 2015,MY WIFE AND I ATTEMPTED TO GET APPROVED TO MOVE INTO A SMALLER VEHICLE IN ORDER TO HAVE A SMALLER MONTHLY CAR PAYMENT. THE TRADE IN DID HAVE ANEGATIVE EQUITY. WE WERE TOLD THAT NO BANK WASABLE HELP US. NOW IN FEBUARY 2016 MY WIFE AND I HAVE RECIEVED LETTERS FROM 2 BANKS THAT NOTED THAT AN OFFER FROM A DEALERSHIP WAS APPROVED BUT HAS EXPIRED. SINCE OUR ATTEMPT WE HAVE HAD TO TAKE A REPO ON OUR CREDIT AND REPO THE VEHICLE.Desired Settlement: 1.FOR THE Revdex.com TO ENSURE THAT PARAMUS CHEVROLET IS UNABLE TO THIS TO OTHERS. 2.PLEASE ADVISE HOW MY WIFE AND I MAY SAVE OUR CREDIT SINCE THE REPO WOULD NOT BE ON OUR CREDIT REPORTS IF PARAMUS CHEVROLET HAD HELPED US.

Response:

I am responding to your letter of the complaint filed by Albert L. [redacted]. Mr. [redacted] was offered a credit approval by one of our lenders as it was submitted by my Finance manager who was handling Mr. [redacted]’s request for credit. The credit score, and his credit history among other factors of Mr. [redacted] is what determined the interest rate of 18% on his credit approval. Mr. [redacted] declined the loan offer based on his expectation of a lower rate. Mr. [redacted] stated in his complaint that he experienced a repossession of his present vehicle, Paramus Chevrolet is no way responsible for Mr. [redacted]’s past or present credit history. Paramus Chevrolet is in no way responsible for his present vehicle being repossessed simply because lenders do not typically repossess vehicles unless the borrower is 90 days behind on there payments, please keep in mind that the repossession is the lenders decision and NOT Paramus Chevrolet’s. Therefore, based on Mr. [redacted]’s false statements I find that his claim is moot and does not merit this complaint. Please feel free to contact me if you need any further explaination

Review: My car, a 2006 Chevy Cobalt, was brought in for service due to a manufactures recall. Three of the recalls were to be serviced and fixed. I called multiple times to check in on my veichle, and was told its not ready the dealership will call. Two weeks went by and my car was suppose to be fixed. I went back the first time and I was told its still not ready by management. I went back two days later to find out it was ready. Upon the mechanic bringing my car, the vehicle was shaking as if it was a rolle coaster, no acceleration, check engine light on and low on oil fluid. None of which was wrong with the vehicle when brought in. [redacted] can atest to that as he is the person who accepted and moved the vehicle initially) I shut off the vheicle to attempt to restart it, and the car would not start. The service manager did a quick inspection of the vehicle to tell me the problem has nothing to do with the work on the recalls and is something I came in with.Desired Settlement: Fix the car at no cost to me and provide a loaner for the time being.
