Review: In a nutshell version: I was charged an amount I was not supposed to be charged. The date of service was almost a year ago. In November, the Operations Manager said I should be issued a refund for the incorrect amount that I was charged. She referred it to their billing department in November of 2014. I have called and spoken to the billing person whose name is[redacted]. Every time that I call, she doesn't remember that I have called. She always says it is being researched and that when the issue is corrected she will call me. She never calls me. I called yesterday, 3/* and left another message. She has not called me back so I am filing a complaint. I've waited long enough.Desired Settlement: I want the refund of $57.29 which is due to me. Date Sent: 3/*/2015 [redacted]I have attached the bill that Park West Radiology sent me. They were trying to tell me that they do not accept my insurance. I have been there several times before and they always accepted my insurance. When I spoke to the operations manager and the billing clerk, they both told me that they do accept my insurance and that I had been billed incorrectly and should receive a refund for the amount that I paid of $57.29. Now I am just trying to recover that amount.

Review: I went in to Park West Radiology for a mammogram and sonogram on August [redacted]. They told me I had to pay for both tests upfront before I went in to have the testing done. The fee was $500, and I paid it in full. The staff ended up not doing the mammogram because they felt I didn't need it (had one recently). I was told I would get a refund.

I have called no less than six times about the refund and have been given a different answer every time. First it was that my insurance company needed to pay and that they hadn't paid, so Park West wasn’t going to refund me until that happened. I called my insurance company and they said that they had paid over a month ago. So my next step was to call Park West WITH my insurance company and they then told me that my refund was in process. I spoke with Ingrid on October [redacted]. She told me that having it go back on my card would be fastest and would take 7-10 business days. I waited 14 business days and called back, because still, no refund. I was then told that it takes more time than that. So I asked to speak with a manager. He didn't call me until the next day and said that he would process my refund that day, and it would take 24-48 hours to show up on my card. It has been one full week (7 days)! Still no refund. I called again on November [redacted] - was told a manager would call me back. He did not. I called again today (November *), have to wait for a manager to call me back -- again. I am furious. I am clearly getting the run-around. I should not have to call a business 6, 7, 8 times to get money that is owed back to me. The billing number for Park West that I have been calling, and that is required for this complaint is [redacted]. The refund amount owed to me is $429.98.

Particularly infuriating is that you can never speak with a manager when you call. I asked if I could hold on the phone for a manager rather than getting a call back and was told “No, you cannot. We have patients that are on the phone. That’s not how we operate.” I am a patient! This is a billing office! Clearly the customer is not a priority. I’ve been waiting months for a refund – actually not even just waiting, I’ve been having to chase down a refund over and over again. Completely unacceptable.

I don’t have an issue with the Park West facility on [redacted], or the doctors or nurses. I’m not sure where the Park West billing office is located geographically, but this is where the issue lies, and it’s really putting an awful stain on the reputation of Park West overall and I would have to think twice about going there again because of this.Desired Settlement: I want the money that is owed to me as soon as possible. I don't want to have to call them again.

Review: On June **, 2015, I had an MRI procedure done at Park West Radiology at [redacted]. Prior to my procedure on this day, I had scheduled an appointment to have this procedure done on the phone with Park West Radiology and was advised that I would have to pay an upfront fee for the MRI procedure in the amount of $335.48, due on the day of the procedure. I agreed to this and so on the day of the procedure, June **, 2015, I paid a fee of $335.48 to Park West Radiology with my [redacted] debit card. Park West Radiology then additionally billed my healthcare insurance provider, AARP Medicare Complete insured through UnitedHealthcare, for reimbursement of the cost of my MRI . AARP Medicare Complete insured through UnitedHealthcare, on July [redacted], 2015, paid Park West Radiology $442.04 on July **, 2015, which was the Plan's share of their approved amount of $552.55 to Park West Radiology. My total co-insurance responsibility was $110.51 or 20% of the approved amount. Having already paid $335.48 to Park West Radiology, I am owed a reimbursement from Park West Radiology in the amount of $224.97 which is the difference between what they asked me to pay them upfront for my MRI, and my co-insurance responsibility.

On this day, October [redacted], 2015, I still have not been reimbursed by Park West Radiology after numerous phone calls to them to try and find out when I will get my refund. I spoke with their billing department on July **, 2015, August 13, 2015, September **, 2015, and October [redacted], 2015 to name several dates that I spoke with them. Each time I spoke with their billing department, I was told I was definitely due a refund of $224.97, but on none of the phone calls, not one, was I given an exact date or at least a window of days that this refund would be issued to me. On October [redacted], 2015, the customer service person at Park West Radiology in the billing department did advise that the refund owed to me would be credited to my [redacted] debit card, the same one I used to pay for my MRI on June [redacted], 2015.

As of today's date, October [redacted], 2015, I still have not received the money owed to me by Park West Radiology.Desired Settlement: I would greatly appreciate if you can please assist me in getting my refund of $224.97 from Park West Radiology and for them to give me the exact date when I will actually see this refund credited to my [redacted] debit card. This vendor has been giving me the "run around" for approximately 4 months and truthfully it has been a disgrace how they are handling the processing of this refund, which they themselves admit that they owe me. This is not a small amount of money and I certainly can use it back in my own bank account and not theirs.
