Parrot Cove Boat Rentals

Review: I called to reserve a pontoon boat for the saturday of Father's day. ( I made sure she knew it was for Father's Day because I didn't think they would have any available, but they did) I was quoted $125.00 for the day. I then reserved it, but did not get any other information from the salesperson. I called back to get information about how many people we could get on the boat and how they worked the gas situation. She told me only 8 people could be on it. So I had to tell family members only 8 could come for the day. My husband was the one to sign the paperwork because I had to meet them at an appointed spot with some of the party. It was upsetting to see that we could have definitly had more family on the boat because there was plenty of room. We did have an enjoyable day on the lake and the boat was clean and ran fine. When we finalized the bill my husband mentioned that it was for $160.00 not $125.00. I said that must be a mistake because of the quote given me. Will I called them the next morning to tell them of the misunderstanding of the quote. I told them that they gave us the wrong quote and the issue with the number of people. You could tell it was a teenager and didn't handle the complaint professionally. she ask if I wanted the manager to know and I said yes, because she probably wouldn't tell him otherwise. When he called ([redacted]) he was already defensive about the situation and very RUDE to me. He didn't believe anything that I had said and kept quoting what his Assistant had told him. Apparently she told him untruths about the situation. He then said ...well in today's world everyone is trying to get something for FREE. either free gas, free hour or a free boat rental!! I couldn't believe it and told him that I never said anything about getting ANYTHING FOR FREE AND WHERE DID HE GET THAT INFORMATION! Of course it was the Assistant that said I did! He then said that she had worked there for a while and knew the prices for prime rental dates and non-prime times. Which only told me that he thought I WAS LYING about all of it (but where would I have gotten the quote from in the first place!) and I let him know about that too! Then I tried to be nice and to tell him that his people could tell customers more correct information BEFORE they got there (in the situation of the number of people) and before I could finish...he jumped in and said "Well you can't expect to get 25, 50 or 100 on a boat! I then told him I would never expect that and I was so upset I had to hang up the phone. As you can see I was beyond upset and will tell everyone not to purchase a rental from this place!Desired Settlement: An apology for the way I was treated and a $35.00 refund for the wrong amount given to me. I am only asking for the refund because of his attitude towards me.

Regarding this customer's boat rental charge, at the time of the inquiry our rates were at the discount level bur the reservation was made for a later time which fell into the peak rate level. I would be surprised if our staff did not make this clear. However, since I can not be 100% certain of what the customer understood, $35 will refunded to customer by check, even though the correct amount was charged and paid. As far as the complaint regarding boat capacity, that is policy dictated by Parrot Cove, not the customer.
