Party Peeps/Dreamcatcher Entertainment Reviews (1)

Review: My daughter had her 7th birthday party at Party Peeps on 11/*/13. I booked the party with the [redacted]. It was set up as a dance club for kids with the main attraction being a stage where the kids performed karaoke & used musical instruments while [redacted] video taped them. The backdrop of the stage was a green screen. When I booked the party with [redacted], I was told the green screen would be edited with special effects & I was to get a music video DVD within a few days after the party. It would be like the girls were in a band and made a music video. After waiting a week after the party & not receiving it, I emailed [redacted] & he said it was done & asked for my address which I gave him. I waited a week and still did not get the DVD. I emailed [redacted] again. I did not get a response. Then I called [redacted] & he said he was going to check to make sure the DVD was mailed out & if not he would personally deliver it to me. He did not get back to me on the status. I emailed him again & was told that the DVD was mailed and I should have received it & maybe mail was slow due to the holiday, which was before Thanksgiving! After Thanksgiving I found a disc in my mailbox which was still photos from the party not the music video. I left [redacted] a message to tell him & the next day [redacted] stopped by with a disc of pictures again, not the music video. He apologized & said he would locate the original footage & create a new video. There were several emails back & forth over the next couple of weeks where [redacted] stated he was going through tapes to find the original footage & that it was very time consuming. Finally on 12/**/13, I emailed [redacted] asking for the DVD or monetary reimbursement & also a phone call the discuss. [redacted] emailed me back that he prefers email & that he was unsuccessful in finding the original footage & that the video was a "gift" & has no monetary value & was small compared to the 2 hours of fun the girls had. This isn't acceptable and is extremely unprofessional.Desired Settlement: I am requested monetary reimbursement for the music video that I did not receive as promised when I booked the party. The party cost over $500 and I feel $100 would be fair reimbursement. The 20+ girls that attended party, along with my very sad & disappoinmented daughter have been waiting for months to see the music video they created. The music video was the main reason why I had the party at Party Peeps. My first choice is to have the DVD which [redacted] told me he can not find.

Business

Response:

After a very successful dance, singing and music games birthday party, the customer was promised a complimentary DVD of some "music videos" that were filmed as part of the party package. The videos were edited and mailed to the customer but unfortunately were never received. After weeks of looking for original footage, and hoping the mail would arrive, I offered the customer to bring her daughter back into the party place, with a group of friends, and I would reshoot a few videos for her and edit them that evening. It could have been resolved easily.. a special girl's night out... presented positively to her daughter (who loved her party,by the way).

This was unacceptable to the client.

While I feel bad that she is left with a bitter taste in her mouth, she did receive a FREE disc of pictures taken by one of my employees, usually a $50.00 charge. And, the client was informed that the videos on DVD was a complimentary gift from us and doesn't have a cost value.

Since the time that we couldn't agree on a solution, she has bad mouthed me all over the internet to the point of being slanderous and even forbid her daughter from attending another child's birthday here recently.

My reputation for throwing amazing parties speaks for itself and I still feel badly about the lost dvd however, I have been in business long enough to know that this client will not be satisfied, even if I refunded her money (which I won't).

I will continue to work hard to make lasting memories for my client's children, as I did with hers.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

Party Peeps [redacted] refuses to provide me with a promised DVD of music videos from my daughter's 7th birthday party or monetary reimbursement for it . He states that the music videos were part of the party package (which I paid a lot of money for). He promised me a DVD which can be proven by the emails I previously attached to this complaint. When a service is promised and not delivered, the customer is entitled to a refund. [redacted] admits that weeks of searching for the original video footage have been unsuccessful. First, how did my DVD get lost in the mail & can not be tracked, then how did the original footage disappear and lastly why was there no copy made of the edited version?? He made multiple errors in this situation and will not make right of them. For a professional business this is unacceptable. [redacted]'s solution of bringing a couple of girls back to reshoot some videos is not a practical or convient option for me. My disappointment daughter is still asking for her DVD from her party which was on her actual birthday. Unfortunately this can not be recreated. Being this is his error, it is only fair to do right by the customer. I will be a "satisfied" customer if I receive the DVD or fair reimbursement of $100. [redacted] claims this DVD was "complimentary" & has no monetary value and yet a FREE CD of pictures he gave me cost $50. This does not make any sense. In addition, I am being falsely accused of slander. Obviously there is no documentation to support this statement because it is a lie. According to the Revdex.com, isn't it policy to only tell a "truthful account" of the siutation? The only thing I have written on the internet is this complaint. Finally, considering being in a dispute with Party Peeps, it is only logical I would not send my daughter to another kids birthday party there. My daughter didn't even want to attend after being so upset that she has not received her music videos. [redacted] should be ashamed for telling lies, doing poor business and crushing a 7 year olds heart.

Sincerely,

"Crush a 7 year olds heart?"

In spite of all the bad mouthing about me as a person and my business, I continue to thrive as a person and business owner who always has the best of intentions. Although I'm not sure it's going to satisfy this customer, I'm
