Party4Less Rentals Reviews (1)

Review: This complaint is regarding a party rental company in Chula Vista, CA NAME: Party4Less Rentals OWNER: [redacted]tavo Puentes (619) 942-9883 ISSUE: Customer Service, Failure to Uphold Rental Agreement & Produce Agreed Partial Refund. Our party was planned to take place at a local park in June. After weeks of thorough preparation through multiple e-mail exchanges, telephone calls, provision of maps and documents clarifying time, date, location, set up time of my party, a face-to-face meeting AND a personal phone call the morning of our party -- they did not uphold their part of the rental agreement: 1. THEY SHOWED UP 3 HOURS LATE, AND ONLY 10 MINUTES BEFORE THE SCHEDULED START OF THE PARTY. The owner refused to take full responsibility although I had sent clear documentation of time, date, location/address and reviewed it on multiple times (I have e-mail record of document I sent). His workers also informed me that he did not have the rentals, or a team prepared for our delivery until 2 hours prior to our party. 2. Our guests had to take the burden of helping with the set-up of the party rentals...........this should have been the sole responsibility of the Party 4 Less staff, per our contract. 3. There were missing items from our rental agreement, which were not delivered. When I approached the Party 4 Less staff to inquire about these missing items, they responded by proceeding to their truck and leaving!!!! 4. Naturally, I called the owner to express my anger. He responded with promises of partial refund, which now 6 weeks later, I have yet to see. I followed up with him, regarding this issue, and of course, have received nothing. I do not want my experience to happen to another individual. I feel that their poor customer service & lack of responsibility or accountability should be addressed appropriately. Thank you,[redacted]Desired Settlement: I feel that a 50% refund was in order, however, the owner had only promised to refund $60 to rectify missing rental items and poor customer service on the day of the event (June 5th). At this point, it is a matter of principle. This company should be held accountable for their incompetence and empty promises of a partial refunded.

Response:

- On May 22, 2013 9pm-9:15pm we receive a call from [redacted]. She was asking for quotes on certain party rental items. [redacted] sounded very interested. We spoke for 20-30 minutes. We hung yo I send her numerous pictures of the kind of work we do. [redacted] then sent us her email [redacted].cm to send her an estimate.

- May 9th 2013 we send her the estimate at 8:44 pm. Same night we corrected email because we had received it with wrong info. At 9:37pm she received it expressing " I Like It!! I'm so excited" also let us know she was going to call us the following day to discuss for other rental equipment she might be adding..

- Between the days of May 10th and 20th we exchanged numerous phone conversations, adding more items to the rental. We also converted estimate on invoice, reserving her order.

- May 22nd 2013 we receive a text from [redacted]. Letting us know she had an emergency and had to be out of town couldn't meet up on the weekend how we had agreed on. She asked to meet on the weekend of June 1st or 2nd. But let's us know that she hasn't received an email for confirmation. 1.) We spoke numerous times through weeks and exchanged numerous emails (estimates converted to invoices)

2.) We responded to her text like we always had thru out the whole deal. somehow after receiving a message from her we replied but apparently we didn't push send. Through out this whole time we thought we where going to meet on June 1st-2nd week

- June 1st we receive a text from [redacted] " It's apparent that you do not want my busy. I will be signing a contract with another company"

We where like what just happened? So we responded with the following:

1.) "Hey [redacted] sorry I didn't push send to my reply apparently... But yes we can meet up. Sorry I've been so busy. But as I had told you before everything is reserved for you already. I already sent you invoice and all"

NO RESPONSE

2.)"I hope u don't take this the wrong way. You know weekends are our busy days.

NO RESPONSE

The reason why we said." You know weekends are our busy days" is because she works weekdays in Los Angeles and weekdays are our normal office days, weekends we are out delivering and setting up. It sure was challenging to out us together on specific day.

-On June 2nd 2013

3.)" Hi [redacted]. Are we still confirmed for June 15th or did you decide to cancel?

NO RESPONSE

4.)" Thank you for your time. We reserved all items as indicated on invoice for you since about 2 or more weeks ago. We also exchanged many emails to make sure we had what you wanted. It's very unfortunate that we get this notice from when items are reserved for June 15, 2013. To many calls and many emails for a sudden "cancelation"

Because we didn't want your business. Please let us know if we are still on for this event. Party4Less Rentals and myself [redacted] has been fare up to this point. I'm busy weekends and your busy weekdays. It's like day and night. I don't understand... Thank you for your time [redacted]...

- June 3rd 2013

[redacted] responds:

"Been in meetings all morning. Sent an e-mail with feedback about this weekend"

We respond we haven't received any email. Throughout this whole time we have communicated by phone conversations, Texts, and email using party4lessrentals@[redacted].com

She sends us an email under [email protected] an email we use for other business. We don't go thru it often. We didn't know an email was sent to us for feedback. We read it and respected her decision. We replied expressing our part and letting her know how we do our reservations also giving her a good discount on top of the great deal we had gave her. we definitely dont like to loose customers or get any type of bad feedback.[redacted] then responded:

"You're really hard to stay upset with, you know? I will be done meetings at ~3:30-4:00 & will try to call. My phone is dying so I may call from an LA phone.

I did not realize this was the model you operate by. Now I can understand better. I'm just used to everyone having a contract and deposit on hand to solidify a "confirmation".

Thank you for reading my e-mail, [redacted].

Apparently things where already getting complicated but at the end she ended up being very polite and generous. We let her know that we were going to update her invoice and contract and re- send it again. The thing is that all lot of the info that exchanged via email we had deleted it. That info also had the Sketch of how rental equipment was going to be set up. The map of the location and more.

We Finally got things clear. [redacted] asks us to meet up on June 8th 2013 to meet up,sign contract and go over a few things for that day. She mentioned she was going to attend a Baby Shower that day in Escondido or Oceanside and was going to meet us between 4pm-5pm in our office.

- June 8th 2013

We receive a text from [redacted].

I will text you when we are leaving the baby shower to meet you at your office to sign contract & place deposit. I plan to be there btwn 4:00-5:00 as we discussed.

Please confirm the address we are meeting. Thank you!

We then Replied with our address confirming that meeting was still a go for 4pm-5pm on Saturday June 8th 2013. Same day at 3:59 pm We text [redacted]

Hi [redacted] please text me when u are ur way...

[redacted] then replies

Hey [redacted] we are about to leave.

Says 1hr on my google maps, so I may be 10 minutes late. I apologize

June 8 2013 5:10-5:20 we finally met up. We went over contract, received a deposit for event, went over other specific detail over event. The thing is that [redacted] wasn't going to be at the venue to receive us with rental equipment. Her friend [redacted] was going to meet us there. She was going to be in the a graduation ceremony. We covered many things to make sure this was covered. I mentioned throughout our conversation to text me the Address of place because I had already trashes previous emails with address.

[redacted] replies with I don't know it from the top of my head but I will send it to you.

We also offered to set up at 7am a suggestion from us to get a good space at a park. Areas in Parks usually get filled up if your not early. [redacted] had mentioned that [redacted] was going to get to the park around 10am-11am and maybe we can set up around 12pm-1pm. We told her that 1 pm would be kind of pushing it on time but we would be there 11am-12 pm. We told her that the set up would take 30-40 min bit its always better to be safe.

10-15 minutes of going thru the plan she leaves with a contract and receipt, but before [redacted] leaves I reminded her to please send me address. [redacted] replies "Just look for it its De Anza Cove, I will google it and send it to you right now when we are on the road"

June 14 2013 11:45 we started loading the rental equipment from our storage in Chula Vista Ca. 11:55am -12:05pm our delivery crew went out to deliver the rental equipment, but before sending them I remember I had no address to send them. I remembered [redacted] had told me just look for De Anza Cove, I got my iPhone device went thru my maps app punched in De Anza Cove. I copied and paste the address like always of any contact and texted it to my guys. They then headed on over. We where 20 min behind schedule but everything was still on the safe side.

I received a text from [redacted]

Hi [redacted]!

Our friend [redacted] has the check for the rest of our payment for the rentals.

You mentioned last wknd that you may come earlier to set up. [redacted] will be at DeAnza Cove saving the spot with volley ball nets by 9:30pm.

Please let me know what time your crew intends to be there to set-up so I can tell [redacted].

Thanks!

I receive a call from our crew around 12:45-12:55 that they can't find the area. I asked them where they where and they said they where by Belmont Park. I suddenly called [redacted] and asked him to give a Physical Address to this place where he was at. He said he didn't know the address but to get on the freeway and make a right and left exit here and there. We told him we couldn't go around that I need an address. We tried figuring it out couldn't. Called [redacted] again asked hom to go to his maps app on his phone device copy paste his current location and texted to us and he said he couldn't. We had our delivery guys somewhere else. We needed an address to send them. But he couldn't provide it. I remembered [redacted] mentioned she would be away from her phone because of ceremony.

We were already stressed out of this situation. We told our delivery guys to stay where they were till I have an address for them. I started looking thru the trash of my email after hundreds of messages I found the emails lucky for us I didn't empty the file. Got an address copy paste and send it to one of our delivery guys. They arrived at 1:15-1:20. They started working hard and setting up to have everything up by 2pm because at that time the event was going to start. Obviously if we would of had received the address for [redacted] we wouldn't be pushing it on time. Although we where 20 min behind our planned schedule not having the address delay the process. The job was done by 2pm-2:05pm something we wanted to avoid.

I spoke to [redacted]. Told her we would discount $50 of her total for all this trouble even though we didn't need to the situation made me uncomfortable.

We also mentioned that they have a free Canopy for their next rental if they decide to rent from us again. I told her to understand the situation where I wasn't provided with correct information.

At the same time we got kind of distracted with all the events going on that weekend that we thought we had the address part covered until the day We send the delivery and notice there is no address on the printed invoice..

It sure was not out intention for this situation to happen. Customers will always have priority and be number 1 to us Party4Less Rentals. We have never experience something like these before. We always have the greatest reviews, compliments and people that follow us. Everyone that knows us knows that we are responsible, affordable and reliable. We always make sure we set up a day before or set up early in the am to avoid these situations. Unfortunately this wasn't the case we couldn't set up a day before because it was at a park and we couldn't set up at 7 am because it was to early.

We asked [redacted] to text us an address to send her reimbursement of $50. This is the address she provided on June 18th 2013

[redacted] & [redacted]

4217 Ponderosa Ave

Suite J

San Diego, CA, 92123

Thank you.

On July 1st 2013 she sends a text :

We have not yet recieved a check in the mail from you.

We Reply:

We havent sent it we Will send it out Today Sorry for Delay [redacted]

The reason for our delay is the work we had the past weeks. Summertime is very busy, an it did take us almost 2 weeks to mail her Check # [redacted] from our Party4Less Rentals Business account at [redacted] Bank for the amount of $50 to the address :

San Diego, CA 92123

Next thing we know we receive a letter from the Revdex.com about this situation.

It is very disappointing for us and our staff to be under this situation. We are always on time to the events, provide the best customer service and get many returning customers to receive out service. I truly apologize to everyone involved in this situation and we truly believe [redacted] has to go back on whole situation and remember also what part she missed on providing. Thank you
