Review: I took my Baby Lock serger in for maintenance in Dec 2012 paid $110 in cash before taking the machine home in Jan 2013 the machine stalled when I attempted to us it and it smelled like the motor was burning in February 2013 I returned the machine still under warranty After a few weeks I went to the repair shop to pick up my machine via a phone call that pat the owner told me the machine was ready It was not from that point on all I got was what I call the run around To make a long story short after going there unannounced a few times I took Mrs [redacted] with me twice I also took MR and Mrs [redacted] with the last time I had contact with the company Aside from the machine not being repaired the thread spindle was broken which I do not know how much it will cost (They only took cash payments)Desired Settlement: to have my machine repaired by a reputable licensed repairman the thread spindle repaired as it was broken in their shop. Or I find someone to repair my machine and they pay for it!!!

Business' Initial Response

When the Customer presented her machine she requested we make 3 of the 4 kines work. She was advised that it would not make it fully functioning but she insisted. She only had 1 needle in place anyway and wasn't using it to it's capacity so upon her insistence it was noted on the repair tag the 3 of 4 lines would be repaired. When she returned it was pointed out that we only did what she requested based on what she was willing to spend so we worked in her budget. In an attempt to appease he I agreed to hook up the 4th line for no charge but since it had a broken spindle, the reason she wasn't using it to capacity, she would have to pay for the part. She refused and began accusations and demands. The Tech who does our sewing machines has over 40 years of experience and is one of the best in NorCal. We are aware of no "Licensing" for Techs in the field. We will fix her machine for our normal price as we would have the first time had she allowed it.

Consumer's Final Response

nothing has changed from initial complaint. I took my baby lock serger to him for maintenance. Paid $110.00 in cash before taking my machine home. When I attempted to use the machine, it stalled & smelled like the motor was burning. I returned the machine as it was still under warranty. After several attempts to pick up my machine over the next few weeks, and going to the shop unannounced. I took mr. Bell with me and Mr. [redacted] assured me in the presents of Ms. [redacted] that 'he' himself, Mr. [redacted] had repaired the machine . I asked that the machine be ran before I took it home. When Mr. [redacted] was going to run the machine I asked him why the (4) spindles and (2) needles were not threaded. Mr [redacted] then, abruptly, said he would take a look at that and kept the machine. For several weeks I attempted to contact Mr. [redacted] to get my machine, but was unable to. during that time I took Ms. [redacted] & Mr. & Mrs. [redacted] with me to attempt to contact Mr. [redacted] at the shop. The last time I was at the business I had Mr & Mrs. [redacted] to meet me there. She person who was there, said he could not find my machine, however I found it under rack of appliances.I ask that it be plugged in to see if it ran. She person said he was not a tech " and did not know anything. Upon taking the machine out of its case it had a broken spindle. the attendant said he would have MR. [redacted] look at it I though took my machine, as the spindle was not broken when I initally brought my machine to that shop. The attendant informed that my machine was still under warranty. Since, my machine appeared to be having 'troubles' that it did not have when I brought it there I took my machine.

Review: I took my sewing machine in to have a Quote on the cutters being replaced, I told the techician not to clean or adjust the machine because it was running and sewing just fine. Just the cutters were getting dull and needed to be replaced.I asked for a quote and said I did not want to spend over $50.00 to have the cutter replaced.I called after two weeks to find out if they had got a price on the cutting blades, he said he had not gotten the part in yet, so I waited. The following week I was called and told my machine was ready to be picked up and the cost was $110.00. I told him he was only to give me a quote on the cutters, he said he cleaned it and adjusted the tenchion, and did not replace the cutters.I took the recipts back to him and showed him it was for only for a quote on the cutters, but he did the cleaning and adjustment with out my consent, I had to pay the price to get my machine back due to I had a dress to get done for a friends wedding, so I was forced to pay him for service I did not request, to get my machine back.I would like my money back, the reciept clearly says cutter quote only, now I have to take my machine to another shop and have the cutters replaced. The machine did not need a cleaning and adjusting, and that was not on the job ticket copy I have .Desired Settlement: I would like my money back due to he did not give call me with a quote and did not do the service as discribed on the ticket, and charged me for service not aggreaded too.Now I will have to take my sewing machine, to another shop and have the cutters blades replaced.I can send a copy of the service ticket for this complaint.Thank You [redacted]
