Patton General Contracting of North Carolina Reviews (1)

Patton Contracting has regularly violated my property rightsFor more than a month Patton has done work on the property next to mine. During that time they have regularly blocked access to my home and used parts of my property as their work area. Despite repeated requests from me and other neighbors to alter their work habits, they continue to use my driveway to deliver materials. In addition they fill the street and cul-de-sac daily with 6-8 trucks and cars so that traffic is impeded, mail delivery is prevented and there is no safe passage for residents. On most days I have been able to exit my home or pull into my driveway without requesting the workmen to me trucks and equipment. Today, a Sunday, they arrived in my driveway at 8:30 AM, blocking access. Since then workmen have been in my front yard using noisy power tools. Desired SettlementI wish there to be a permanent record with Revdex.com documenting the company's unacceptable work practices and I wish confirmation that some action has been takenBusiness Response Revdex.com Complaint Response.RE: Case # [redacted]. [redacted]Date: 4/14/14Thank you for reading about my company on the Revdex.com. Below you will find my response to[redacted]. [redacted] scurrilous complaint. Keep in mind, after reading her complaint, I attempted to contact[redacted]. [redacted] by phone to address her issues. Unfortunately, she hung up on me. I hope after reading this that you will appreciate how difficult it is when your contractor works in shared and tight places. To eliminate any confusion,[redacted]. [redacted] is not my customer. She is the next-door neighbor to my customer. In this particular cul-de-sac there are several homes that share access and egress to their homes. The driveway[redacted]. [redacted] claims as hers is in fact a shared driveway of three homes. In her complaint she failed to mention that on the first day I started the job, I stopped her in her car, introduced myself, gave her my business card and told her if she had any issues with the work going on to let me know. Needless to say she did not until I read this Revdex.com complaint. The access to her garage was never blocked by an unattended vehicle. Twice, while I was unloading materials in the shared area,[redacted]. [redacted] came out and gave me an unpleasant look and pointed to my vehicle. I immediately moved my vehicle. Keep in mind I only have my vehicle in the shared driveway when I am dropping off tools and materials or loading up at the end of the day. Once the vehicle is unloaded, it is moved into the cul-de-sac. At NO time was[redacted]. [redacted] deprived of leaving or returning to her garage for more than 10 seconds. Before I started the job, I confirmed with my customer what her property lines were. Contrary to[redacted]. [redacted] complaint, at NO time have I done any work on her property. Again, contrary to her complaint,[redacted]. [redacted] at NO time has asked me to alter my work habits. The young couple to the left of[redacted]. [redacted] has asked us to relocate our vehicles in the cul-de-sac three times so her children would not hit them with bicycles. The vehicles were moved immediately. I am a licensed commercial builder and know the access rules. Again, contrary to[redacted]. [redacted] complaint, at no time was the mail not delivered. There is safe passage at all times on my job sites.**. [redacted] states on most days she has to request my men to move their vehicles so she can get out. I am the only one that pulls his truck in the shared driveway to load and unload. My crews know to stay in the cul-de-sac. There were never six to eight vehicles from my company at this job site at any one time--four at the most.[redacted]. [redacted] is confused about what vehicles belong to my crew and which ones belong to her neighbors/visitors. **. [redacted] is correct when she mentioned I worked on Sunday April 13th. I made it a point not make any noise until 9 am. Unfortunately, power tools do make noise.I told my painters to not show up until 10 am as it was Sunday. Power sprayers make noise too. Here is what I will do for[redacted]. [redacted]. I will continue to use the shared driveway to load and unload my materials and equipment. I will continue to work in the morning hours making noise with power tools but not before 8 am Monday through Saturday and not before 9 am on Sunday. I will continue to park my vehicle and my crews' vehicles in the cul-de-sac. In light of this complaint, I would like to take[redacted]. [redacted] out for dinner. If she is unwilling to join me, I would like to give her a gift certificate to the restaurant of her choice. I hear the [redacted] is wonderful. Consumer Response [redacted] immediate response to my complaint was to make a telephone threat to me, I quote" if you ever make a slanderous claim or comment about my company I'll sue you for libel in court" As for the events of Sunday April 13, there was a truck in my driveway at 8:45 AM as I was preparing to leave for church. I had to delay my departure for 20 minutes. For the remainder of the day there was power equipment operating less than 10 feet from my door. [redacted] is incorrect in stating that the driveway is shared with the property where he was working. It is shared only with the property on the other side of my home. [redacted] informed me that I could ask permission any time I wished to leave my home. My response to him then and to his employees repeatedly was that I don't need to ask permission to leave my own home. It was his responsibility to always ensure that was available. On one occasion a workman servicing my home was unable to exit the driveway because two trucks operated by [redacted] workers were parked diagonally across my driveway and he had to tell them to move. As for the numbers of vehicles in the cul-de-sac [redacted] is not truthful. As any other neighbors could confirm, there were ALWAYS multiple vehicles parked on the street and around the central circle. I regularly had to ask whatever workers were here to move vehicles so that I could either leave my home or access the driveway upon my return. That meant that I had to allow at least 10 minutes additional time - not 10 seconds- for each appointment or errand on my schedule or in some cases cancel commitments because I could not leave my home in a timely manner. I don't need a free dinner from [redacted] Neither do I need threats. I would like there to be a record of his company's failure to consider the impact of their inconsiderate work practices.Final Business Response The job next door to her is 99.9% complete. I have 3 inspections left and should not be using power tools or having vehicles parked in the cul-de-sac. I apoligize for any inconvenience this has caused her.
