Paul Davis Restoration & Remodeling of SE WI Reviews (48)

In spring of 2015 we had a house fire. We were lucky that no one was home at the time of the fire, but the damage was substantial. The best advice we received from our insurance company was recommending Paul Davis to restore the home. From the very first day of the fire, they put our minds at ease, they even stayed late at night to board the house to prevent further damage. The next day they had a team meet with us to explain the entire process and to give us an expected timeline, answer questions, and set expectations. What struck us right away was how compassionate everyone was. They understood how traumatic the event was for our family. Their empathy and guidance made the process seem more manageable. One advantage we found with using Paul Davis is they were able to go through and decide what might be recovered and cleaned. To our amazement some pictures, china, and furniture were recovered. Another advantage was they have a knowledgeable team that helped us with navigating the insurance claims process as well as providing design options. They also have a great contracting team that managed the project. During the design process we were given the opportunity to make some changes. We worked together to come up with a design that would fit our budget. When we needed to make a decision about style and options, Paul Davis educated on the pros and cons of the products and how it would help the resale value down the road. They understood our style and that we wanted to make changes but were also cost conscious. Communication of building status and response to our questions were always in a timely matter. We are very satisfied that we made the best possible changes with their guidance while not ever feeling pressed. The team has a great amount of talent and provides high quality work. They rebuilt us a beautiful home that we love and are proud to show off.

The guys at Paul Davis are top-notch. I've worked with them on several big jobs and they've finished on-time and at budget. I will continue to call them with anything that comes up.

This note of thanks and recognition is overdue to Paul Davis Restoration.
No one expects the unexpected -I was in a state of shock and disbelief about the fire that happened in our home one week before Christmas. From our first point of contact the day after the fire the employees at Paul Davis along with the insurance company were focused and committed on helping us put our lives back together. The Paul Davis team made sure the right people were on hand to take care of all aspects of home repair and renovation and everyone we came in contact with was extremely knowledgeable in their job description. A talented staff that handles extreme situations with empathy and are focused on providing excellent customer service. In particular, there were two gentlemen we came to know pretty well at Paul Davis that I would like to recognize and thank for being there for us during all of the extreme emotions and uncertainty we were feeling. [redacted] our estimator on the job was the first person I met from Paul Davis Restoration. The morning after the fire he was there to help answer questions to this unfamiliar territory. He was kind, considerate, knowledgeable and influenced our decision to choose Paul Davis Restoration to help us pick up the pieces of our life's and rebuild. [redacted] remained a constant go to for questions, challenges and opinions throughout our roller-coaster journey. He is someone that is confident, has a fantastic work ethic, takes pride in the quality of work the company does and is conscientious of making his customers happy and feel some sense of ease. Not only that he became someone we grew to like not only as our lifesaver but also as a friend. [redacted], our project manager is a fantastic human being. I recognize it to be a a difficult job balancing multiple projects and managing a home life as well . [redacted] has a wealth of knowledge stored in his head and always seemed to have an answer to the mountain of questions we had for him. If I bombarded him with confusion on color, patterns, designs etc and he was always there with samples to help give clarity to my confusion so I had the ability to make choices that worked for me. He is extremely hard working, handles his job with professionalism and was a pleasure to work with.
I cannot begin to express how much I am thankful for a job well done by the folks at Paul Davis Restoration- It was a long painful, emotional journey but my gratitude to you for making my house the home I had always dreamed of. I would recommend Paul Davis Restoration & Remodeling over and over again based on my experience with the company.
Thank you- [redacted]

My family had a house fire January 15th 2016. This was the first time we went through something like this so we where completely lost with what we should do. We called Paul Davis and worked with Bryan, Ryan, and Nick, thier guidance through this whole proccess gave us piece of mind on what to expect and saving a lot of our hierlooms. Bryan was nice enough to even come over on a Saterday, on his day off, to explain the proccess that we where in at the time to my daughters, who live out of town and the weekend is the only chance they can come home. He stayed for over an hour answering questions from the family. Nick who is the emerency response person was a huge help because we couldn't get in contact with our insurance adjuster right after the fire. He led us in doing what was needed to our house at that time. Everyone at Paul Davis was extremly helpful. We decided to sell the house as is.

Paul Davis did a fantastic job on the remodeling of our basement in Bayside, WI. They were organized, efficient and very professional. They also worked around my family's crazy schedule and were very accommodating with start times and all. Tim B[redacted] who over saw the job was very patient, thorough and saw everything through until the very end. We would definitely use them again in the future and would refer them to anyone needing their services!

Review: I had a fire within the unit I dwell in in october. It took weeks before things started to get renovated. There was a two week period where no one or nothing was being renovated. Would get different dates on when we could come back home before Christmas after new years etc finally we were told It would to be completed by December 19th the date given to is to move back into the unit. It is still not completed and they ([redacted]) have been going around in circles. There was so much imcomplete work it was ridiculous. They say they would come and finish work then back out staying they won't make it due to working elsewhere or waiting on the things to be ordered. They would come late to unit and then claim they have to go and get supplies always unprepared. One time [redacted] came late as usual work a little bit and just walked out of unit without letting us know door was still unlocked. Called [redacted] he state led he was coming back but didnt. Gave excuse that her had something important to take care or. They also have boxed our belonging which they threw out beds and pillow top without permission. Items we wanted to keep have not been given. They reboxed items that were boxed already. They were not to enter the garage but took things out. Found boxed towels in garage open and used soaking wet and just thrown on the garage floor. Held passport and stated they had to clean it. Are missing social sercurity cards from members in home. Started receiving texts from [redacted] and [redacted] late at night or early morning about coming to unit which I felt is unprofessional and then still did not commit to promose. We have had a headache with this companies. [redacted] felt that it was not an issue that they his employees who boxed items did not follow instructions on what not to touch. Claims that they follow his orders not ours. Just plain ridiculous. We have been disrepected, humiliated and taken as a joke. They have been paid to do a job and have not completed it yet. [redacted] has made reference s about what our insurance would not pay for but at the end of the day the company which we rent from is the proposed budget they went for. All the senseless arguments when the customers are to be treated with respect and listened to as well as satisfying us. They also did not rake pictures of all items and belongings we owned as well. Still missing about 300 dollars of dollar coin pieces that were located in master bedroom plus other items.Desired Settlement: They need to finish the job as well as admit and compensate us for lost items and pain and suffering from they lies being told about finishing repairs and how our belongings were handled.

This letter is in response to the above-referenced customer concern filed on February 1, 2015. Paul Davis Restoration & Remodeling (“PDR”) received the complaint via email on February 2, 2015.PDR was contacted on October 27, 2014 by James Brest, facilities manager for [redacted] due to a stove fire in [redacted] on October 25, 2014. Ms. [redacted] leases [redacted] from [redacted]. It was determined that the damage to Ms. [redacted] was caused by a grease fire on her stove and subsequent water damage when the sprinkler system went off. Ms. [redacted]’ carrier, Safeco Insurance, accepted responsibility for the property damage claim. As stated in Ms. [redacted]’ complaint, “[i]t took weeks before things started to get renovated.” This time lapse was not due to PDR, rather her insurance carrier was unable to provide an on-site adjuster until two weeks after being contacted.[redacted] of [redacted] contracted with PDR on November 12, 2014 to handle the mitigation and structural repairs to [redacted]. In order to make the necessary repairs in the damaged areas of the apartments, Ms. [redacted]’ contents and those of her family living in the unit, needed to be moved offsite. Her carrier agreed to provide a storage pod for her use at the complex, but there was not proper space for this pod to be placed at [redacted]. Because time was of the essence to get moving on the repairs, as a courtesy to Ms. [redacted], PDR agreed to pack out her items and store these items at our warehouse in Neenah. PDR packed, inventoried and stored these items at no cost to Ms. [redacted] or her carrier. Ms. [redacted] also signed a liability form dated November 20, 2014 releasing PDR from any wrongdoing. Furthermore, PDR expresses zero misconduct in association with this claim. Our crews made every effort to get the work done so the [redacted] could be back in their[redacted] before Christmas. Poplar Creek Condo II in Cudahy on Oct 24th experienced major fire that deemed the building a total loss. As president of the Association I was involved in coordination with our insurance company State Farm that choose Paul Davis for Cleanup, and Mitigation Demo. Everyone at Paul Davis that I dealt with was professional and helped our Condo tenants with personel assets for storage and cleaning as well as Mitigation demo of the entire 8 unit complex. Ryan [redacted] project manager and his team leaders Brian and Kevin for personal assets cleaning and storage Larry [redacted] for Demo crew worked hard at satisfying our needs to deal with the fire disaster we experienced.

When we discovered a significant mold problem in our home, we called Paul Davis. The mold remidiation team (led by [redacted] far exceeded our expectations. They were extremely knowledgeable, timely, communicative, and thorough. We have confidence that the situation has been alleviated, and they've restored our peace of mind. The restoration team (led by [redacted]) has done an excellent job restoring the damaged areas of our home. Kristian was efficient, empathetic, and dependable.

They did a great job when I got water in my basement
Matt did a great job as the project manager
Thank you!

The team at Paul Davis was extremely helpful assisting and expediting the restoration of my home after a small disaster. They were very knowledgable in dealing with the mitigation/restoration and the interactions w insurance and mortage companies. The level of communication and coordination between the PD staff, contractors and myself was unexpected but they delivered and exceeded my expectations.

We had a house fire this summer and Paul Davis Restoration worked with us from the night of the fire until we moved back home. Their professionalism and care to detail was great. They made sure we were taken care of and our house was restored to original ( and better) than before. Everyone that worked on our house was respectful and the quality of work was more than expected. [redacted] and [redacted] took great care of us. I highly recommend them.

I've recently contacted Paul Davis Restortation regarding some water damage that I had in two of my bathrooms. We had used their services previously down in Kentucky. They did such an incredible, professional job that it left a last impression on us. That is the reason we reached out to them again to help with our water damage. The person they sent out, Travis, was extremely professional and knowledgable. He broke down exactly what needed to be done, how long it would take, and he quickly put together an estimate for me. The estimate was very much inline with what was estimated by my insurance company, which I was very happy to see. Communication between myself, Travis, and Brad, the project manager, was terrific. They let me know exactly what was going to be done, and when it was going to be completed. Each person that came to my house was very friendly, professional, and tidy. They took extra care to make sure they didn't bring any ice or snow into my house. I would absolutely recommend their services to anyone based on my positive experiences with them dating back to 2008.

I would suggest this firm to everyone. The were polite, effecent and left nothing behind. The condo was as clean as it was when they started

We had a water pipe break at our building. They were super responsive and did everything they could to meet our deadline of having the building ready for a class. Adam and Tim did an outstanding job of making sure things were done to the T.

My house plumbing sprung a leak while I was on vacation. The mess was overwhelming. They were at my house within 20 minutes, unloaded cleaning/drying equipment and started to work. They were super professional, clean, and very very thorough.

I was so happy with the cleaning/mitigation, I hired them to do the restoration part, which is a different division of Paul Davis. Everyone who worked on my home was very professional, very thorough and the work was perfectly completed. They have tons of customers who have much bigger messes than mine but they paid attention to my concerns as though I was the only customer.

Also, I related my positive experience to my neighbor. They had a surprise flood a few days later so they called Paul Davis too. They were also very pleased.

I cannot express how satisfied I am with their work. They have earned my trust.

I was so very happy with project that Paul D[redacted] completed at my home in Green Bay after we had water damage in our basement. They were up front with prices as well as how long everything would take. Matt T[redacted] was our project manager and I can tell you he is the first guy I'm calling if we ever have water/wind/fire damage. He made sure we got the basement properly tested for mold. When mold was indeed found, Matt made sure it was completely removed before the basement was being rebuilt. We used Paul Davis with another water damage situation when we lived in Milwaukee at our home there. We were also satisfied with the company and their work there as well.

Our experience with Paul Davis restoration was excellent. Adam and Tim were very helpful and the workmanship on our garage repair was very good. Special thanks to Tim, the project manager, for coordinating all the different aspects of the job.

After a boiler mishap resulting in water damage to a finished basement, Tim B[redacted] of Paul Davis Restoration took over. His crew did the demolition of the affected areas and had drying fans in place working within hours. Tim covered both the demo and the reconstruction process with me completely making frequent visits to inspect the progress, cover any questions and helped with paint selection and the carpet install. The crew assigned to our home was on time, made sure everything was restored as requested and always had a pleasant attitude. Tim made sure we were satisfied with the completed restoration.

Review: We had a fire in our home in early 2014 and contracted with Paul Davis to do the restoration. My complaint involves several items that were taken from the home and not returned. The most valuable of these were some pieces of jewellery which went missing in the first few days we were absent from the home due to the smoke. They were reported to the police as stolen. Several irreplaceable items were taken to be cleaned and never returned but not listed as being unable to be cleaned. As time passes we find more and more missing items. The other problem was the length of time it took to do the restoration. 4 months to restore the effects of a one room internal fire was too long. We had to keep calling to get action.Desired Settlement: No further contact with the business

Response:

This letter is in response to the above-referenced customer concern filed on October 1, 2015.Paul Davis Restoration & Remodeling (“Paul Davis”) received the complaint via email onOctober 1, 2015. Paul Davis was hired on February 3, 2014 to handle the mitigation, contentscleaning and property repairs of the [redacted]’s residence resulting from a fire. We are surprised tohear from the client through the Revdex.com over ten months after the project was completed withconcerns of theft and disappointment in production time. With regard to the desired outcome “no further contact with the business” and desired settlement“stop contacting me” Paul Davis has not been in touch with the [redacted]’s since the completion ofthe project in late 2014/early 2015, nor have they reached out to Paul Davis to relay the allegedservice concerns outlined in their complaint. In December 2014 the [redacted]’s did contact a junior manager to discuss contents questions and toreview repairable and un-repairable inventories. These conversations were amicable and drew toa close with the end of the project. There was not any contact with senior management regardingtheft accusations, which Paul Davis takes very seriously. Our teams go through rigorousbackground checks and ongoing training for the proper handling of customer’s personalpossessions. We have reviewed the files of this project and firmly believe that there was not anytheft of jewelry. We recognize going through the repair process from a fire can be very daunting and emotionallyupsetting, it is always our goal to ease the burdens of our clients and treat them, their possessionsand their homes with the utmost care and respect. While re recognize there may have been somecommunication gaps due employee transitions, we do not feel the [redacted]’s didn’t receive goodcraftsmanship and a quality end product from a team who took pride in their work and care inhow the [redacted]’s felt. With regards to the time period to restore a property and belongings, much of that is dependentupon external factors such as decisions from an insurance company, agreements with theproperty owner’s production availability and so forth. There does not appear to be anytimeframes far from the ordinary concerning the timelines of this project from my review. We are disappointed to hear they are dissatisfied with the end result. At this time we do not feelthere is anything we can offer given the time gone by and their unwillingness to discuss.

Hands down the best possible outcome from a horrible disaster. We had our septic tank erupt through our main floor toilet, and flow into our kitchen, dining room and laundry room. After calling Paul Davis in a panic, a representative was knocking on our door within a half hour. They, and their contractors handled our worst nightmare promptly and professionally & exceeded our expectations with exceptional customer service workmanship throughout the entire project. I would not hesitate to recommend Paul Davis for any restoration project.
