We couldn't have asked for better service after a fire that destroyed part of our home. Chad and Brad were excellent to work with! Brad always returned my phone calls quickly and promptly, organized time to work around my busy schedule, made choices easier to make, and helped to make my house look beautiful. Paul Davis Restoration and Remodeling handled everything from A-Z since the incident and made recovering from the fire easy. They kept the budget in mind at all times and worked well around it.

I have been MORE than satisfied with Paul Davis Restoration and Remodeling...they've done above and beyond what I would have expected with regard to the work that was needed on my home! Clean, Friendly, Super-Polite and Respectful of our family's schedule and comfort level during the renovation phase of this project, I cannot say enough good things about this Company and the people it employs!! I will recommend Paul Davis R and R to ANYONE needing this type of service!!

On May 23, 2015, our home caught on fire. My husband and I were not home at the time, but my grandmother and two children were. They escaped and the fire station was there within a few minutes. Luckily, the fire was contained to the garage but there was still smoke damage throughout the house and some water damage from the fire hose. When my husband and I arrived home (roughly 2 hours after the fire occurred due to being out of town), Nick [redacted] from Paul Davis Restoration (PDR) was there to greet us, along with another woman from a different Restoration company. The two explained the benefits they would provide to my family and how they would assist in restoring our home. My brother is a fireman on the Racine Fire Department and has heard wonderful things about PDR and suggested we go with them. From that moment on, Nick was there for my family and I with any questions and constantly communicating with us. As the restoration process began, we worked with Adam [redacted] as our Structural Estimator and Bryan [redacted] as our Contents Estimator. Both were very professional and a pleasure to work with. Once the work began on the house, we had Eric [redacted] as our Project Manager. Eric was always keeping me in the know and making sure we were happy with each completed project. If we had any issues, he was right on top of it to correct it to our liking. Chris [redacted] was also very helpful with ensuring our insurance and mortgage companies were receiving the correct paper work and information. This was a huge weight off my shoulders.
Paul Davis Restoration has exceptional employees that are committed to their customers. I would highly recommend PDR to anyone that would benefit from their services.

I can't say enough good things about Paul Davis. We've dealt with them twice, the first time being a disaster at our home and the second we had them do some drywall work at our new house because we liked them so much the first time around. Both Eric's were so kind, understanding, professional and helpful throughout the entire process. They were also advocates for us while dealing with the insurance company which was a relief because there was a lot of back and forth and arguing that we didn't have to stress over. The work done was great and you would never know there was water damage to the house (they had to gut the entire main floor due to a burst pipe). Chris at the office was also great in getting us the paperwork we needed for closing as we were selling our house (it sold a week after we put it back on the market) and she was also very professional and kind to us. If you ever have a disaster happen at your home, hire Paul Davis!

Our hot water heater recently leaked and there was water that saturated a portion of the carpet. Paul Davis was there the same day with dehumidifiers and fans. We were able to save the carpet. Rick was very attentive and a pleasure to work with.

Re: [redacted]

Customer Concern #[redacted]

Dear Sir/Madam:

This letter is in response to the above-referenced customer concern filed on October 8, 2013.

Paul Davis Restoration & Remodeling (“PDR”) received the complaint via email on October 9,

2013.

PDR was hired on September 9, 2013 to handle the mitigation and stabilization of the

[redacted]’s basement occurring from sewer backup due to a flood on August 24, 2013. The

mitigation work was completed on September 18, 2013. The next phase would have been to

contract with our structure department. We recognize that due to poor communication and lack

of follow-up on the part of PDR, no structural contract was ever agreed upon.

On October 9, 2013 the [redacted]s emailed their complaints on this project to [redacted],

[redacted] and [redacted] of PDR directly. I followed-up with [redacted] to address their complaints and stated I would follow-up with him and his wife,

[redacted], once I had a chance to review the information with all pertinent team members.

Immediately thereafter, I met with all teams members to gather information regarding the

[redacted] project.

On October 10, 2013 I, along with [redacted] of PDR, contacted Mr. and

Mrs. [redacted]s via conference call to discuss their concerns and seek resolution. After

hearing their dissatisfaction with PDR, we requested that the [redacted]’s propose a solution

this matter. The [redacted]s will share their proposal via email to me no later than Monday,

October 14, 2013. No further action will be taken until this proposal is received.

Sincerely,

After a pipe burst in January of 2015 Paul Davis Restoration and Remodeling was able to completely restore our home. The people at Paul Davis were so friendly and helpful and everything was done under one roof so we did not have to deal with any of the contracting etc. What really helped was the people were so positive. It never felt like a chore getting back to them or asking questions, they were always willing to help. Especially when dealing with the insurance company. Thank you Thank you Paul Davis Restoration, we love how our house looks. It's even better now!

Review: On Oct19 a plumber from Ideal Plumbing cut a water pipe in the condo above me causing water damage to my home. On Oct. 20, workers from Paul Davis Restoration came into my home to do the necessary repair work.. I was overwhelmed at that time and discussed the entire procedure with the supervisor from Paul Davis. I was told I did not need to be present during the work, that I only had to make sure they had access to my unit. I was told they had been doing this for a long time and they were very trustworthy. I was present for the work that was initially completed. On Oct. 26, I was informed they wanted to do work on my home Oct 27-30. I said I would be out of town, and was told no problem, I just had to make arrangements for "his men" to be let in. I did make those arrangements. On Oct 31, I discovered an envelope in my desk with $700 missing. I called the police, filed a police report and left a message on the phone for the Paul Davis representative. On Nov1, I received a phone call from the Paul Davis rep stating none of their workers would steal because he knew them all for a long time and they have all been fingerprinted. I said the money is missing and the only people in my condo had been Paul Davis workers. During subsequent conversations with him I learned that Paul Davis uses sub contractors. I believe that the workers in my home may have been sub contractors. I asked if they were supervised during the time in my home and he stated no. A supervisor brings them in, shows them the work to do, and then returns at the end to check the work. Regardless, of who was in my home, I had been assured by the Paul Davis rep they were experienced in doing this and there was no problem in letting their workers come into my home without me present. There was a major problem. In further discussions with the rep, I commented that when this started, the company should inform customers that Paul Davis will not be responsible for missing items and to make sure valuables are In a safe place. The thought of removing any valuables from my home never crossed my mind. I was only dealing with the damage to my home and heard on several occasions how reliable Paul Davis was. I was also informed that Paul Davis will not tell customers that they should be be cautious with valuables, because If they caution customers "no one will let them in their home". I also think it's irresponsible to let sub contractors in my home unsupervised. On Nov 1, the police contacted Paul Davis and the rep stated "he did not believe his staff was responsible for the theft?" After many discussions with the Paul Davis rep and 2 letters I've sent regarding this problem, on Nov. 16, I received a phone call from the Paul Davis rep stating after a thorough investigation on their part, they would not give me the money because none of their workers would do this. I asked what this "thorough investigation" consisted of and I was informed I wasn't entitled to that information. My complaint is Paul Davis came into my home leading me to believe I could safely allow this company in my home and it would be safe and it wasn't. Paul Davis should let people know that they will not be responsible for any missing valuables or items during the time they are in the home. They did not do this, nor will they do this in the future. There is still some work to be done in my home and I do believe they will complete it, but I'm out $700.Desired Settlement: Same as stated above. Paul Davis should also let customers know that they will not be responsible for missing items. Paul Davis should tell customers that they use sub contractors and they are unsupervised in the home.

Response:

This letter is in response to the above-referenced customer complaint filed on November 17, 2015.On October 19, 2015 Paul Davis Restoration & Remodeling (“Paul Davis”) employee, [redacted], responded to a call from [redacted] of Ideal Plumbing regarding a water loss requiring mitigation services at [redacted], in units [redacted] and [redacted]. Per their phone conversation, two technicians were dispatched to place drying equipment in unit [redacted].On October 20th, Paul Davis completed the work in unit [redacted] and reviewed the water damage in Ms. [redacted]’s unit, #[redacted]. Ms. [redacted]’s unit has sustained damage to a portion of the parquet floor in the kitchen which was irreparable and would need to be removed. In order to mitigate the kitchen area, small holes were drilled into the ceiling drywall in the kitchen, as well as around the exterior base of the peninsula. Once the holes were drilled, Paul Davis set up fans to force air through the drywall with the goal is to bring the material back to a dry standard. Our technicians also set up a temporary containment wall to assist in controlling the migration of dust and debris throughout the unit. The temporary wall consisted of four millimeter plastic including zippers for doors and four zip poles (to hold up the plastic). This temporary wall is designed to create a smaller drying chamber which utilizes less energy. The equipment also creates quite a bit of heat and the chamber is set up to control those areas, making it more comfortable for the customer. After demolition of the kitchen floor was complete, ram board was placed on the floor where the parquet flooring was removed as to not cause tripping hazards for Ms. [redacted] due to the different elevations between existing flooring and concrete. During this time, [redacted] brought a Kitchen Aid mixer back to Paul Davis’ electronics department for evaluation and cleaning. This mixer was still in the box, however the bottom of the box had shown light water damage, this cleaning and evaluation was just done as courtesy to the customer. While Paul Davis has staff employees who handle the mitigation work, it subcontracts structural repair work based on a specific trade. Once October 21st, [redacted] met with the subcontractors to discuss a plan for the floor repairs. It was determined at that time that it would be tough to match the parquet flooring due to wear and tear so the remaining flooring would have to be removed and replaced. Mr. [redacted] informed the customer of this process and retrieved flooring samples for the customer to review. He relayed that the drywall repair would be completed between October 28th and 29th. The remainder of the flooring would be removed during this same time so as not to disrupt Ms. [redacted].From October 23rd through October 27th, the drying of the unit was completed and flooring samples were dropped off with Ms. [redacted] for her selection and approval. On October 28th the technicians arrived with a supervisor to remove the flooring. Contents were moved from a closet inside the kitchen area to an area outside of the containment. After the flooring was removed, the drywallers entered the unit to patch the affected ceiling and holes behind where the baseboard would be on the outside perimeter of the bar.On October 29th the drywallers returned to finish patching the walls and followed up with painting. On October 31st Ms. [redacted] left a voicemail for Mr. [redacted] stating that she had $700.00 missing from her unit. [redacted] followed up with Ms. [redacted] on November 1st regarding the missing money and took down specific information which he relayed to his supervisor. Later that day [redacted], from the [redacted], contacted [redacted] to discuss the matter further. Our mitigation crew had just undergone the process of getting finger printed due to a job we were doing for Milwaukee County. [redacted] inquired about the police department taking fingerprints so as to compare those with the Paul Davis employees and [redacted] stated that he might do so. It was later found out that fingerprints were not taken on the first visit to the home. Paul Davis inquired with the [redacted], and asked for a return visit to the home to retrieve the prints. It was realized by the Police Department on the return visit to the unit that they were going to be unsuccessful retrieving any fingerprints. On November 9th, 11th and 17th, Paul Davis continued to work in [redacted]’s home completing repair work. While Paul Davis does background checks on all its employees, we do not have the same criteria for our subcontractors. Each subcontractor must carry liability and worker’s compensation insurance. However, we contacted the subcontractor to have him verify the employees who were in Ms. [redacted]’s home. The owner stated that his employees have worked for him for over 5 years and has never had anyone accuse them of stealing.Paul Davis works in well over 1,000 homes and businesses each year. We take the claim of theft very seriously. While it is unfortunate that Ms. [redacted] claims to have had $700.00 stolen fromher home, without legitimate proof we cannot accuse anyone of taking it. There may have alsobeen other parties entering the home as the property manager had to provide access to Ms.[redacted]’s unit. Please be clear that we are not accusing anyone of stealing this money and notdiscounting that the money was or was not there. If evidence were to appear that an employeeof Paul David did in fact take this money, it would be grounds for immediate termination and wewould provide full cooperation with the [redacted].Even though Ms. [redacted] has filed this claim with the Revdex.com, she continues to allow Paul Davis tocomplete the work in her unit. Our employees have maintained their professionalism andcontinue to do so while working in her home. Since this claim is ever present and looming overthis project, we are unclear as to why Ms. [redacted] would continue to have us work in her home.We are scheduled to finish the remaining punchlist and flooring items in the next two weeks.Sincerely,[redacted]Customer Service Advocate

Response:

Ms. [redacted] is correct in that our work has a warranty of one year from the date of completion. Itwas the understanding of our team and the flooring company that the flooring issues were finallyresolved when they were last at her home.Prior to Ms. [redacted]’s rebuttal to the Revdex.com, she provided notice to her management firm, [redacted], that there are still flooring issues still outstanding. In a final effort to resolve allmatters regarding the floor issues still outstanding, representatives of [redacted], IdealPlumbing and Paul Davis will meet with Ms. [redacted] on January 7th. We are hopeful that a finalresolution to Ms. [redacted]’s concerns regarding her flooring can be accomplished at that time.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

[To assist us in bringing this matter to a close, we would like to know your view on the matter.]i just received the response from Paul Davis and absolutely reject it. First of all I have been asking for a written response from Paul Davis regarding what work they have completed, what the warranties are on each of them, and the actual agencies that did the work. I have complained about the bracket for my closet door that was thrown out by Paul Davis or one of their subcontractors. When [redacted] from Paul Davis, left on Dec 5, he said Paul Davis will not complete the rest of the work unless I sign off. They even acknowledged in their last lette to the Revdex.com that they closed their file. I have no idea what the warranty is on the floor, the dry wall, my carpet or whatever work they did. I don't know what work they did.

Review: After a fire in my condo, the company rep told me that they could get my furniture out in the next couple of days. I gave the man my keys. The next day I arrived to find my front door bashed in--broken frame--because no one had the keys. Thus began the constant being locked out or not being able to lock the door because it was broken. My place was unlocked for a few days. They thought nothing of it. I then arrived four days later to find that they had moved my good, dry furniture into a bedroom with the wet, smelly furniture. A week later my furniture was still sitting in the mess and muck--stinking. I arrived that next Saturday to find that they were taking down the drywall with ALL of my belongings still upstairs and in the garage. The garage had been unharmed and was now the "safe haven" for my belongings. They were now all covered in drywall dust. Each time I brought these issues up, "No, this is not the way we usually do things." Then why are you doing this to me? Each time I got an apology. Then when they finally removed my belongings they took pictures of things and put them on the "good" list. This is stuff that had sat in water for a week-electronics, my mattress. I found a ceramic soap dish that had been on the good list, in the garbage!! What?! I then found the entire contents of my bedroom nightstand--watches, buttons, personal ID cards, etc., in a waterlogged, but dried out box that had other garbage in it. I passed by this box several times thinking it was garbage. When I finally looked on the next Saturday, I found the nightstand drawer in there. I had 6 watches--I now have 5, as one is missing. I also had an antique men's pocket watch that had belonged to my GG grandfather. The labeled envelope was still there. The pocket watch gone. Before I made accusations, I asked them to find it. They won't because it was not in any other place. I had just moved the week before this happened, so I am well aware of where my belongings were and what I had. I have asked [redacted] to be removed from this service. My insurance company has found me an alternative source for the restoration cleaning. Problem after problem with no end in sight.Desired Settlement: I need Paul Davis to pay for the things that they have "misplaced." One of my watches was a Oversized, Fossil, blue faced, with a metal band. The pocket watch was about 50 to 60 years old. I have yet to go through the remainder of my things, but there are MANY items that never made it to the pictured lists--my blender, mini blender, toaster, strainer, crock pot, etc, etc, etc. I can produce a list, as I have taken many pictures since the fire. They need to make this right. They have been very unprofessional in their documentation. I would not recommend their services to anyone.

Previously closed complaint # [redacted]. I would like to report that since my complaint was filed and closed this company has resolved the issues to my satisfaction. I have received a phone call and a follow-up call checking to see if I was satified and if there was anything else that they could do for me. They understood that my concerns were not addressed in a manner that reflected the philosophy and mission of their organization. I let them know that I appreciated this very much. One of their representatives will be coming to my temporary home this evening and dropping off a check for my damaged belongings.

We had a fire back in 2004. Polite in our faces, however when you are not knowledgable in this area you find out later all of the things they did which was a half/done job.

I would like to say we had a positive experience with Paul Davis resteration, we had a house fire in August of 2015. Paul Davis resteration came in and took care of everything, our project manager Brad [redacted] was fantastic, no matter what he took care of us. Brad made our experience positive even though it was very catastrophic to us. Our house is absolutely beautiful, they did a fantastic job. We met quite a few people from Paul Davis resteration and by far Brad was outstanding. We did meet with the estimator, he was nice but he felt like more of a car salesman to me,all about the bottom end, where Brad was more about us. We would recommend them to anyone, our home is beautiful and if you get the opportunity to work with Brad [redacted], he is all about making things good for you, and making your home beautiful. Thank you

I highly recommend Chad [redacted] to anyone facing major damage to their home or any building needing repair. His performance in responding to the damage to my house was outstanding.

I recently had a house fire, and from the start the communication, understanding, and professionalism of Paul Davis has exceeded way beyond all expectations, All of my contents were damaged or destroyed and I wanted to thank and recognize [redacted] for his outstanding knowledge, quick communication and rapid response for getting me back all the things I needed to have during this chaotic time, all of my items that I received back were in like new condition, he was even able to get in touch with and work with a taxidermist to repair my trophy buck head mount, from what looked like it was surely going to be thrown away. [redacted] has just been awesome, he maintains the highest standards and is persons of very high character. Thanks again [redacted] My house is should be nearing its completion here in the next month or so and the team working on that side has also exceeded far beyond all expectations, [redacted] and [redacted] my two main contacts for the house side have been truly outstanding and are very very good at what they do, I will be posting a full review upon completion of the project. but again I just wanted to jump on here quick and thank [redacted] for getting my personal items taken care of. Truly Great Job!!!

Paul Davis did a great job on our water damage problem. A special thank you is in order for Project Manager Al [redacted] for finishing the project within our time restraints. I would definetly recommend them, and would not hesitate to use them again!

Extremely helpful, knowledgeable, friendly, and efficient. No one would ever know I had a fire in my home after all their hard work.

Paul Davis has our full recommendation with a 10 for knowledge, workmanship, professionalism, productivity and just simply good trustworthy people that take the stress out of it all! We truly appreciate the professionalism, dedication, knowledge, and the quality of work you have provided us. Most of all, you have given us our home back.
After assessing the damage from the flood on three levels of our home, knowing where to turn to repair our home was an overwhelming task. We had 18 holes in our kitchen ceiling, holes in our theater ceiling, the once beautiful wood flooring was damaged extensively, and there were many other problems to be addressed. We are thankful no one was hurt and all things are replaceable, but there is still a level of stress that comes with your home being in upheaval. Tim, VP came in to assess everything and worked with our insurance company and then our Project Manager, Brett, his carpenter Matt and the crews came in and took over. Every member or representative that came from Paul Davis was efficient, polite and skilled in the area they were sent to work on. They were also very friendly to my little girl and my two little dogs. They handled moving everything out/in, complete repairs and replacements (i.e.; woodwork, plumbing, drywall, painting, flooring, carpet cleaning, furniture (dis)reassemble and cleaned the house (inside windows too from all the wood floor dust). I’m sure I missed some things. Everything is back to normal or better. The ceilings, floors, laundry, everything is beautiful! We are truly happy with the Paul Davis family. Thank You!! [redacted]
