Our washing machine developed a leak under the tub and flowed underneath the vinyl flooring onto the sub-flooring from the laundry room into the kitchen. Our insurance company's adjuster contacted Paul Davis Restoration in Augusta, GA, to start a claim for us. Mark Hutchison came that afternoon to look at the damage, and immediately called his guys. They pulled up the wet vinyl, brought fans to hopefully dry up the sub-flooring, and fix the damage. Due to the length of time that had passed since the leakage started, tests showed that we had a mold growing underneath our cabinets. The Restoration company pulled the cabinets, and they were restored to their original state. This company was also wonderful enough to pack the contents of all the cabinets into boxes while they were being rebuilt. I am so thankful that the Paul Davis Company of Augusta-Aiken were the ones contacted to do our work. I pray that nothing else happens to our home, but I definitely know that I will contact Mark Hutchison and the Paul Davis Restoration Company. Thanks again to great workers!

I do not recommend franchise Paul Davis Restoration of Greater Chattanooga, Tennessee You are not respected and you don't receive professionalism Their style of communication is inconsistent communication and lack of communication and their Associate doesn't listen to your needs and dictates to you versus having professional dialog I was working with Paul Davis Restoration due to a property insurance claim I could never get Associate on the telephone I was constantly leaving messages with the office manager / owner for Associate to return my call I would leave a message on a Monday and by Wednesday I had yet to hear back from him or anyone at the company for that matter I had to confess my frustration with the office manager/owner before he would return my telephone call I denied services from Paul Davis Restoration with the knowledge of losing my warranty since Paul Davis Restoration participates in a network program with my insurance carrier that grants a warranty For me to willingly lose my warranty means something and it is a testament to the awful experience I had prior to any work being performed They are using the Paul Davis Restoration brand by being a franchise and shaming its reputation at the same time I spoke with one of the owners before denying services thereby providing an opportunity to restore my confidence Needless to say, I was disappointed since owner was accepting of the behavior evidenced by basically saying to me that that was the industry they work in and they had been in business for years My advice would be to (i) have associates take a communication class because Associate was the reason for the loss of business and (ii) have someone in the office that can be a backup since owner stated that no one could call me other than Associate with regard to my questions and the like.....that's a total breakdown and the owner is accepting of it too The company display acceptable lack of effective communication, respect and professionalism

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID *** and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below
There was non mention in this response of how or when my billing dispute would be resolvedI have not heard from Luke C*** or anyone else at Paul Davis since Aug2, I have no faith that they will work directly with me to resolve any billing disputesIf this company is so concerned about being professional and taking care of its customers, why have none of my emails been answered? No phone calls have been returned, eitherThis project has dragged on all summer, and Luke C*** assured me back in June that it would notI just want a prompt resolution to this situation

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business.  This solution was reached on 8/28/14 that the company will install the appropriate product per as contracted AND deduct from the final bill the stop payment fee...

I was forced to place on my previous check for $35 on 9/2/14. This was accomplished after a robust and loud discussion transpired, in my living room, related to the business, the employees and the fact that I had submitted a complaint.  I did not like that the owner had told me that his business nor his employees were the problem, but that I was the problem, as he was wagging his finger in my face.  I very nearly walked him straight to the front door!
Finally, I was able to proceed to recount to the owner my top grievances which I figured he was unaware of: 1) the project manager had initially offered me the insurance money in lieu of the product for me to go away, 2) when I turned that down, the project manager complained that to order the appropriate product would cost more than they were being paid, 3) when I told him that was not my problem, the project manager intimated that the claims supervisor of my insurance agreed with this company that simply patching the vinyl insulation was "industry standard" and was acceptable instead of replacing the vinyl with new product as was actually outlined in my contract. I disabused the project manager of that notion immediately by telling him that I had just that day spoken to the claims manager, and what had been said to her was all duly recorded in my file.  Then the project manager apparently got in contact with the business owner.  I think the business owner was completely unaware of what the project manager had done throughout the life of the project and had been told that I was the problem all along.  He fully believed that at the time he set foot in my house.
Once I was able to illuminate the situation, his outside demeanor did not change, but I am hoping that he realized that I did indeed have a legitimate complaint.  That the project manager was going to leave me with basement insulation that was simply patched, that according to the owner, was done as an interim step.  But thanks to the owner taking time out and coming to Firestone, this issue will be solved tuesday 9/2/14.

initial repair was not completed in a satisfactory manner, which we agreed on, and so we had to schedule to have the correction made. The issues that arose were with the drywall work and the painting. The drywall issue was a warranted issue however it jwas in the opinion of our customer that the painting was not complete. The attempt at correcting the issue with the drywall was close but still not completely taken care of. We then had to schedule to have a second attempt to correct the drywall issue. That attempt corrected the issue and satisfied our customer. We will not be billing the customer for work we did not complete. This includes the cleaning of the carpets. Our customer chose to have that work completed by someone else. Inevitably, in this line of work, issues sometimes arise. The most important thing that we stress as a company is that we  take care of our customer and do a professional job. We will resolve any disputes with billing directly with our customer so that our customer is treated fairly and ultimately taken care of.

I recently had smoke damage threw my entire house. Paul Davis sent his cleaning crew very quickly, they worked around my schedule and all 10 of my animals. They were very respecful and polite. These people made a horrible issue alot easier for me to handle. And they did it in 3 days. I highly reccomend this company.

Review: My husband and I own a rental property at [redacted]. On April 29th 2015 our rental property caught fire. Luckily for us it was not a complete loss. The tenants however did loose all their belongings. That night, about two hours later a representative from Paul Davis Restoration called us and showed up at our door, his name was Ed. We were very surprised by how quickly someone approached us regarding the house. Ed seemed very nice and concerned for us. Again, I found it odd how quickly he responded and I even asked how many more company's would be reaching out to us for the opportunity to work on our house. I can't exactly recall Ed's response but I believe that he said something about working with our insurance co. Well, we allowed Ed to write up the estimate and the insurance company cut us a check for $67,684.03. I have paid Paul Davis Restoration (Ed) $60,200.00 to date. It took six months for Ed and his crew to finish working on the house. Six months was what we were told it would take to get done. My complaint is regarding the work that was done, the work that was not done and the quality of the materials used as well as the unprofessionalism of Ed and his crew. Upon inspection of the house we found many things wrong with the house. Ed was informed and one of his crew worked on the house for two more days and the cleaning crew was sent in. The tenants moved in that weekend. Once the tenants were in we discovered that there were still many things not done correctly. I have not heard from Ed since Oct. 29th when I originally let him know that there were things that needed corrected. There is still a dumpster sitting in the yard. On Oct. 20th I asked when the dumpster was being removed and Ed never responded to that. I am real disappointed at the quality of work Ed and his crew provided. I am also upset with the materials used, it is obvious that the cheapest materials were purchased. I refuse to contact Ed anymore, he had a responsibility and he failed.Desired Settlement: At this point I will be sending my husband to the rental to fix what still needs fixed. I will provide him with the money to buy the materials he needs and pay him an hourly wage out of the 7484.03 that remains from the 67684.03. As far as I am concerned I am done dealing with Ed and Paul Davis Restoration. They do not deserve any more payment. I also want the dumpster removed and off my ruined grass.

Review: We hired Paul Davis Restoration in [redacted] 2012, following a house fire, to restore our home and manage/store any salvageable contents. The last punch list items on our home have been incomplete since [redacted] of 2013, including some work and materials for which they received payment from our insurance company (nearly $500 for painting our front door and installing a storm door). They also still owe us for materials we provided (almost $300 for tile and grout for a backsplash) which were included in the insurance payment they received. One of their final actions was to attempt to repair a leak along the newly replaced roof line that was causing water damage in our ceiling. They never returned to repaint the ceiling following the repair and the repair seems to be inadequate as a new leak has since appeared next to the previous repair. In addition, we have not been reimbursed for damage done during the final clean-up (broken light fixtures) and during our move (total est. $250). Finally, Paul D[redacted] failed to document that they were unable to clean a sectional sleeper sofa that they took which therefore became unsalvageable (and which we never saw again). This failure on their part resulted in our insurance company rejecting our claim for replacement value (we received only a depreciated actual cash value) which was more than $2,000 less than we were due.Despite our repeated attempts via email and phone to reach owner Joey M[redacted], we've had no significant response since [redacted] 2013 and no reply at all since [redacted] of 2014.Desired Settlement: By our reckoning, Paul D[redacted] owes us over $1,000 for work they were paid to complete or damages to our property while under their care. They are also responsible for a loss of over $2,000 that we sustained due to their failure to document appropriately the dispensation of our property that was in their care. We are seeking full restitution.
