PaveRight Asphalt Reviews (10)

Review: This is our second complaint with Paveright. First one was about six months ago. The complaint was resolved and Paveright responded by promising to honor their warranty. We have been trying to reach someone in their office to set up the appointment for Paveright to come to the property and fix the paving they did, which was not sufficient. No one answers the phone when we try to call almost everyday. We leave messages, but no one gets back to us. They have ignored us for six months.Desired Settlement: All we want is for Paveright to contact us and come to the property to fix the substandard job they did, and to honor their warranty.

Response:

I am still out of town. When I get back In town I'll be out to take look at job and address any issues that Mr. [redacted] has. Thank you.

Review: Paveright installed seal coating to a portion of our drive way on 09/23/2013. I noticed there was a problem and I called several numbers listed on the business card and received no answer. The phones they have listed on their business cards also have no answering service to confirm it was actually Paveright I was calling. The business card does not match the contact and address listed on Revdex.com or their Paveright website. After several phone calls, [redacted] finally returned my call. I explained to him that the pea gravel that was installed was almost entirely on my lawn and the driveway is back to the original black top coat. He said he would send someone out to look at it by the end of the week or early the next (the end of that week would have been November 22, 2013). Nobody ever came to check on the product as he stated they would. I mailed a letter to them on December 5, 2013 stating the problem I am having with the product they installed and stated that I had spoke with [redacted]. I have still not received a phone call or letter from the company.Desired Settlement: I would like the seal coating to be cleaned up and re-installed correctly in the spring of 2014.

Paveright agrees to clean up any loose material and reapply sealcoat if needed in the late spring/early summer of 2014. Thank you

Review: Paveright contacted me at my home, stated he would pave my driveway for $1000.00 or less with recycled asphalt. I said for a $1000.00 I would agree to have my driveway done. Next day his crew came out and began working on my driveway, I asked if he would be able to do my fathers driveway that connected to mine as well, he stated he would see if he had enough material. He graded our driveways and laid a layer of small stones down, sprayed hot oil down, then another layer of stone down, then rolled it down. He came to my house and wrote out a bill for $3222.00 and added my fathers cost for $2184.00 after he finished the jobs. When I asked why the bill was so much higher, he stated he charged by the square foot, but never advised me of the square footage before or after the job was done , or that it would cost more then $1000.00 . He never talked with my father or had him sign the contract he wrote up after the job was done. I asked why he did not use the recycled asphalt ask agreed, he stated this was better. I felt I had to pay for his work or he may put a lien on my property, so I paid by credit card, and my father had provided me a check prior , #[redacted].

Later I contacted him ([redacted]) who was the person I had been talking with and let him know I was not in agreement with the bill or the material he provided, he stated he would refund $1000.00 off my bill and credit it back to my credit card and credit $100.00 back for my fathers bill by placing the $100.00 on my credit card to make me happy. As of 09-15-13 I had not received a refund of any amount.

Because Paveright failed to provide the agreed material, or the amount it would cost as agreed on , I am asking for a full refund of $3222.00. I am also requesting full refund of $2184.00 for my fathers costsDesired Settlement: Complete Refund of $5406.00

Response:

Paveright chipsealed Mr. [redacted] drive for the agreed amount. As far recycled asphalt, we do not use it. After we put down the agreed amount he added more to his driveway plus added his fathers driveway. If there is something wrong with the driveway I would be happy to fix or repair it. I don't think Mr. [redacted] is entitled to refund, because he just wants one or has buyers remorse. Chipseal is perishable product. It's not something you can return once it is down.

Business

Response:

We do not use recycled asphalt. I don't why Mr. [redacted] keeps referring to recycled asphalt. We would not tell a customer one product and bring another ever. As stated in previous responses, Mr. [redacted] added his father's driveway and made his bigger that's why it came to the amount specified.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

I reject PaveRights reasoning, I was told that he was going to use recycled asphalt, and when after the job was done I questioned him about it, I was told this was better then recycled asphalt. The business card that he gave me stated on it, Asphalt Paving & Seal coating / Recycled Asphalt Milling . On the invoice its printed Asphalt Work / Driveway Repairs and Sealing. What he wrote down on the bill was Chip seal driveway. From another Co. I was told that what PaveRight had done is used over an existing paved road and that PaveRight did no more then place gravel down.

Review: In June, 2013 [redacted] from Paveright gave an estimate to "grade and prep, remove old asphalt, chip seal drive, and power compact" my driveway for $4,700 with a "1 Year Total Warranty". [redacted] said it would be paved and sealed just like a road and if I desired, they would come back and spray a seal over the top of the pea stone gravel. The work was started, finished and paid in full that same day. Although they compacted with a roller at the time of installation and after 3 months of driving on it, the pea gravel is still loose and not compacted "like a road" as first described by [redacted]. I continually have to rake the pea stones back onto the driveway. After leaving two voice messages for them to come back, [redacted] from Paveright finally returned my call. He said his [redacted] did not have the authority to say they would come back to seal over the top. Our conversation ended with [redacted] saying he would get back to me on that. After more than a week and another voice message left by me - still no returned call. As it now stands, I have a pea gravel driveway not a paved and sealed one. My concern is that over the winter I will be blowing pea gravel into my yard instead of snow and want Paveright to stand by their estimate for a sealed driveway. I should not have to pay any additional costs since this was all agreed to and paid for in full at the time the estimate was given. If [redacted]'s [redacted] was not authorized to make the statement to come back and top seal, he should not have been allowed to negotiate, write or sign the estimate in the first place.Desired Settlement: Any one of the following options: 1. Have Paveright stand behind their "1 Year Total Warranty" and place a seal over the driveway 2. Pay the cost of another company to do it for them 3. Reimburse the full estimate amount so that I can have my driveway redone

Business

Response:

I spoke with Mr.[redacted] on several occasions, rakeing the stone back onto the driveway only prolongs the problem. That's the nature of chipseal or sealcoat as some people call it. Being a house driveway it might take longer than expected to lose the loose rock. Roads that are chipsealed have a lot high speed traffic, so the loose pea stone comes off faster. As far as putting a black sealcoat over the top of the loose stones will only enhance the problem. If Mr. [redacted] wants to contact a sealcoater about getting an estimate on his driveway that is totally up to him, but I am fairly certain they will tell him that the cant sealcoat over it. If he still wishes sealcoat driveway I would be happy to work something out. Thank you

Business

Response:

We do have a 1 year warranty, if there something wrong with the driveway. We will repair it. We can't fix something if is not broken. It's the nature of chipseal. If the customer keeps sweeping loose Rock back onto driveway it keeps prolonging the problem. The loose rocks has to work there way off before we can put a sealer onto driveway. Till that happens I can't do anything for now.

[A default letter is provided here which indicates your acceptance of the business's response. If you wish, you may update it before sending it.]

If PAVERIGHT agrees that they would come back in the spring of 2014 to sweep the excess stones (if any) and put a seal over the top of my driveway at no additional cost to me, I would find that acceptable.

Regards,

Business

Response:

Paveright agrees to the terms, we will sealcoat driveway if applicable in late spring, early summer or when weather permits at no additional charge.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

Paveright LLC failed to return this Spring/Summer 2014 to sealcoat my driveway as they agreed to in December 2013 as a resolution to my Revdex.com complaint against them. My daughter has left messages on my behalf that have gone unanswered by Paveright LLC. They have ignored my calls in the past and obviously care less about their customers or their reputation. I gave Paveright LLC a chance to return and honor their "1 YEAR TOTAL WARRANTY". They proved to be nothing more than dishonest.

Review: In May of 2013 a rep from PaveRight stopped in and offered to redo our driveway in such a way as it would look like the side roads by our house. They said we wouldn't have to seal it and it would last at least 10-20 years without maintenance. I asked how much would it cost. He gave us a verbal estimate of $1000 - $2000. My hubby and I talked it over and agreed to do it because the blacktop we had on our driveway was looking pretty sad. PaveRight came in and did their thing all within one day and gave us a bill for $6000. Yep that's right - $6000. Can you believe it? OUCH! We paid the bill and thought within a couple weeks our driveway would look great. NOPE. That did not happen, and now almost a year later it's awful! In the fall of 2013 I called PaveRight and told them we still had lots of gravel all over and washboarding all down the driveway and that there are also areas in the driveway that dip lower than the rest of the driveway. They said that because of our 1 year warranty we were good. They said we just needed to drive on it more and that if we let it go over winter in the spring they'd come out and remove all the excess gravel and seal the driveway and it would all look good. Now I have lots and lots of pea gravel all over my grass - and all over the neighbor's grass, loose gravel on my driveway, still "dip areas" and I cannot get in touch with anyone at PaveRight. I have 4 phone numbers to call and no one answers - ever!!!!! This is SOOOOOO much worse than our sad looking blacktopped driveway - I wish I had our black topped driveway back - and so does our neighbor!Desired Settlement: I would like PaveRight to come out and clean up all the loose pea gravel all over my yard and my neighbor's yard. I would also like them to remove any excess pea gravel from my driveway and then seal it as promised ..... and fix the areas that are hollowed out. If they cannot do this then I would like a full refund of our money. They charged me more than 3 times their estimate for a product that is not even close to what they claimed it would be.

Review: When work was undertaken, a layer of oil was applied to asphalt drive to accept chip seal and then in turn, rolled to compress into the oil base. The oil base seemed to be not adequate enough, so presently there is no oil left and the chip seal is not adhering to the asphalt. As a result, the driveway has a lot of washboarding taking place, which is most unpleasant. We have asked the ownership of Paveright to come and inspect the job in order to try to resolve the problem and resolve the issue. They are indicating we will have to spend more money on oil, etc., and under our one-year guarantee, which expires February 4, we were hopeful this matter could be resolved between the two parties. Frankly we have been trying to reach the Paveright firm for months and went to their [redacted] office, which we could not locate. Additionally, their cell phone numbers were disconnected, so it was only through other sources we were able to get their current telephone numbers and try to resolve the problem.Desired Settlement: Repair to road to meet specifications, as we were told this chip seal upgrade could last for 15 to 20 years.

Response:

When I spoke with Mr. [redacted] I did not realize that a 1 year warranty was given. We will stand by the warranty and address any issues that Mr. [redacted] has even after the Feb. 2 deadline for the warranty. Thank you.

Resurfaced entire surface of two driveways. Contract was to apply tack coat, remove old surface where needed, apply 2 - 2 1/2" new hot asphalt and power compact. Completion was 12/11/13. NO TACK COAT, NEW AC NOT HOT, OLD AREAS NOT CUT AS NEEDED, NEW SURFACE FEATHERED TO CRUMBLE DEPTH, DIPS/PUDDLE AREAS, CRACKS ON EDGES, FOREIGN MATERIAL EMBEDDED IN NUMEROUS AREAS. With a little effort this could have been a professional job. A few short cuts put this new $8,000. surface at major risk of failure well before its time. Company non responsive for remedy.

Review: The gravel was left on top of the tar in excessive amounts along the whole driveway. In some areas there was up to 4 inches of loose gravel on top of the tar that was laid down. Loose gravel is getting everywhere, children can not ride their bicycles in loose gravel, and I have had a hard time riding my bike through some areas. I spent a considerable amount of time sweeping 1/3 of the driveway so the gravel is thinner so it is useable.

My wife called many times shortly after the driveway was installed, at first she was responded too in a rude manor, and then her phone calls went unanswered. I called several times left messages and received no response. I then threatened to report this to the Revdex.com and I received a response back within a half an hour. The response was: we are working on the other side of the state, and we will come over to fix the driveway in fall. I called back in fall and they said they would fix it first thing in spring this year. Spring has come and gone, I have called and left several messages, and have not had any response back.Desired Settlement: [redacted] said they would come out and put more tar down to secure the large amounts of loose gravel, and even out the driveway. This needs to be done.

Negative. They were 'finishing job in the area ploy'. We did 2000 sq ft for $2400 and within a week had weeds growing in the area. Complained, the returned and told my husband - it is to be expected. Now we have a lot of weeds in the area and it looks no different than my gravel driveway did before they surfaced it. A total waste of $2400. They said there is a 1 yr guarantee but if weeds are up in a week, I doubt this surface will be more than junk before the summer is up, much less making it through a winter.

Review: We had some chipsealing on cart paths done in 2013. The company said the coating would last 10+years. The cart paths are in need of maintenance and are deteriorating. I have contacted the company many times via phone and email. We paid $20,000 for this project and it is completely unacceptable only 2 years later.Desired Settlement: I want it fixed and I want to be contacted. I don't even know if the company still exists. I would like this company to stand behind their work and product.
