Review: I purchased a car from the dealer at time of purchase I gave a $3, 000 down payment. They then turned around after 30 days of going back and fourth with having me send in certain documents to the bank tell me I was not approved and I have to bring the car back. After telling me I will get my down payment back before I brought the car back, now they are saying that I have to pay for the miles I drove the car. Why would I not drive the car. I was under the impression that it was my car. I paid the dowm payment and signed all the paperwork and nowhere on the paperwork does it say that I have to pay for milrson the car if I dont get approved. In the mean time I was able to go to a VW dealership and get a bettet car with less miles cheaper price and not to mention a warranty and less of a down payment.Desired Settlement: I want my $3, 000 cash that I gave them for a down payment.

Dear [redacted],

Here is our response to the complaint from [redacted].

The initial approval we had for his loan from the bank did not go through and we asked him to bring the car back within 5 days of his taking the car. He did not bring the car back after numerous emails and phone calls. After many promises to return the car he never did. This went on for 30 days. Eventually we did have an approval for him after about 2 weeks of him taking the car. He told the new bank he decided he did not like the car and was going to return it after signing the new contract with them.

While he had the car he had illegal tint applied to the windows. He also put on 4000 miles in a 30 day period. This reduced the value of the car. Average miles for a 30 day period is 1000 miles. Our cost to remove the illegal tinting is $480.00.

We have offered to refund him $2520.00 of the $3000.00 since we have to pay $480.00 to have the illegal tint removed from the windows.

Please let me know if you have any further questions.

Regards,

Consumer

I am rejecting this response because:

It was not 5 day after I left with car. The only time I was contacted by the dealership was a week and a half after I left stating that I needed to submit a copy of my social security card. Because they put the wrong one in for me. So we cleared that up. Then the next call was the bank needed additional pay stubs since it took me so long to fax two more, since the salesman missed places the first set I gave to him the day I took the car home. The reason why I did not send the pay stubs in right away is because while there service guy was trying to fix something on the car he did more damage to it and they promised me a new door and trunk button. And until they fixed it I refused to send in my stubs. The ONLY email that they ever sent to me was the email that I requested the bank have them send over about them promising to fix the car. I have every text and voicmail that they left me and not one was 5 days after stating that the car had to be back. They did not ask for the car back until I was away for business. And I explained that I will have it to them when I return. If I would have not returned the car they would have called the police for a stolen carn like they said they did on my voice mail to sacre me and when I called them back they said they will call it off, which is not possible. Also the tint is not illegal due to the fact that I wear glass and it helps with the glare at night. Tint also does not cost 480 to remove. I have already got qoutes for it. The car was suppose to be my car, so there was nothing wrong with that. I also check with a few dealerships and even they say that is the cost of sending a car out before you get it financed.

Thank,

Regards,

Business
