PM Fencing Reviews (3)

Review: Our fence was installed (finished date) July 19th 2013. Still under warrantee, we have been experiencing a multitude of problems. Our gates are not opening and closing properly(if at all at times). One reason is due to the incorrect installation of the locks and hinges. They don't latch and prevent the gate from closing all the way. The locks are unable to be adjusted as they should be. The posts are unleveled and quite slanted, at times taking someone to push the post into an upright position in order to open the gate, so as the actual door part of the gate is not on top of the opposing post. This unleveled problem is not limited to the gates alone. The fence itself is nowhere near level partially due to what I assume was a lack of caring about their work and partially due to their failed workmanship and incorrect installation. Many posts have sunk while others are not in solid, causing them to sway left and right. All of the above causing the fence to appear unleveled . Whether it's a separate issue or a result of the aforementioned, it's important to note that at least 2 panels thus far have popped out of in between the posts. Both times it has taken 2 people on either side of the fence to get it back in place. While we are having problems with the workmanship and performance of the fence, our neighbors are noticing its poor quality and appearance. We have tried on several occasions to contact PM Fencing(its main office) and its owner [redacted] on his cell phone regarding these problems since it is still under warrantee. There has been no attempt on their end to address the problems or even come take a look, let alone fix them. While we overlooked most all of the headaches during the installation (multiple start dates, ordering wrong parts, being left with half a fence for some time), we are not willing to overlook them not standing behind their work, work that is still under warrantee as per our contract. We have estimates from other companies to fix their work.Desired Settlement: Fix the problems (honor their contract and warrantee) or refund us the amount it costs to get it fixed elsewhere.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

Regards,

PM Fencing has since been out to address the problems with our fence. They corrected the issues with the gates. We still maintain it was a poor job and short of replacing the entire fence, I dont think there is any fixing of the appearance of the fence. We did find out that the men who installed our fence were not the normal crew who do the fence installations.

I had my fence done by PM Fencing several years ago. Their price was high so we assumed (and were promised) good quality. The quality was poor and the fence was uneven and unsteady. Materials were of low quality. Within 5 years, we had to redo it significantly with the help of other contractors because PM Fencing required high charges for any repair work. Looking at other complaints, I find our experience very similar and want to alert potential customers who may repeat our mistake of hiring PM Fencing.

Review: I have reached out to [redacted] and their assistant [redacted] (of PM Fencing) MANY times since Oct. 2012 regarding problems occuring with locks and gates. The fence surrounding my inground pool was installed and finalized in Sept. 2012. Approximately one month after installation, I noticed that the screws in the locks within the gates, were rusting. During early 2013, I experienced the gates not opening and/or closing properly. During the winter 2013 , I got locked inside my backyard--the locks require adjusting or replacement, etc. By June 2013, one of the gates was totally separated from the hinge.--This gate is currently/totally removed and standing beside the fence. Gates on the other side do not open or close properly. Basically, my pool is totally open and there is no barrier around my pool. I have a corner property and there is now full access to my ingound pool. The current situtation is extremely dangerous. The owner, [redacted] came during the fall 2012 season to make an estimate in relation to Storm Sandy damage (in an area unrelated to gates), but has not made an attempt to repair the locks, gates or Sandy-related-damaged sections of the fence. I believe the fence, gates and locks are inferior products. Also, I believe this business has not met its commitment to a contract warantee in relation to the locks. I have made numerous attempts to contact this business both via phone calls and in writing (via e-mail). The business did respond in writing indicating they would be here on July 1st (to only adjust locks--they declined further work). They e-mailed me regarding that date and changed the date to an earlier one--June 29th. They did not show up/respond on either of those dates for the repair of the locks; and, they have not responded back to additional e-mails I sent asking why they did not show for repairs. I am reaching out to Revdex.com for assistance with PM Fencing so that other consumers do not suffer similar losses.Desired Settlement: We would appreciate if PM Fencing would repair/replace these issues/products. The gates and locks have been problematic since the fence was installed. In addition, the (Sandy) storm-related damage was estimated by [redacted], but the commitment for this repair was not met either. The gates require repair, the locks require replacement and we would appreciate greatly if the storm-related damage would also be repaired. This is a new fence--the doors and locks should have lasted longer than a couple of months. Thank you for your consideration and assistance in relation to these complaints.

I am rejecting this response because:

Response:

Repair has been completed roughly 4 weeks ago. Issue has occurred do the installation of customer's sod. Proper install of the sod will avoid gate issues. Ground needs to be dug deeper where sod will be growing or else every time sod grows in it will let the gate and not allow for closure.
