Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and have determined that this does not resolve my complaintI first complained on 10/4/2016, my son was being bitten by fleas, because we had fleas in our apartment, tooWe have no animals so the fleas and the bedbugs clearly came from somewhere else, and we are not at faultAfter my neighbor had the heat treatment done, is when I went to our landlord telling her my kids were getting ate up by something, and my little one was having a reaction every time she laid on the floor to watch TV or playMy landlord sent someone out to inspect (who actually did come out that day) and then told us that what we were experiencing was bedbugsWe did notice the bedbugs (rusty colored spots, and live bugs crawling) when we actually knew what to look forBut, it was after my neighbors apartment being heat treated that all of this started happeningWe had the heat treatment, and still had live bugs crawling afterwards in OctoberWe came into our apartment, and it was cool, nothing was melted, I truly don't believe the pest control company did what they were supposed to do, otherwise the bedbugs would've diedI told my landlord the issueMy husband and I took headboards and mattresses to the dump, we were highly upset that the treatment hadn't worked, and have tried to do everything to get rid of them! They are coming from the walls! I did recently contact our landlord again 7/7/making that times that I've told her about the bedbugsShe said she'd get someone out right away, and did! When I was emailed how much the treatment was going to be I asked them to feel free to cancel it, because my husband and I don't have that kind of money, after we pay rent each monthWe have a family friend that works for a local pest control company that would've given us a deal insteadThey sent pest control anyway, and now we have no way of paying it unless they can give us a few months, and not just daysOur rent is due again by that time! The list of repairs that I gave, has been the same list from the day that we first moved in, that I just copy and give to each new landlordWe didn't have any problems with bedbugs when we first moved in, in I did give the regional manager the same list, before we signed our new leaseWe moved in, in to old flooring, leaky windows, etc and I wanted to make the new landlord aware of thatThey have replaced windows, and flooring, which very badly needed to be done! I just think it's unfair to charge someone for a pest control treatment that they knew we couldn't pay for! Especially since the first treatment failed, and I made that clearI wouldn't dare try to be dishonest to get anyone in troubleWe're just financially struggling as it is, and cannot afford a $treatment that we asked them to cancelWe don't even have $to spend in groceries for our family each month.I have not removed myself from this complaint, and have not hired an attorney just yetI was told by the regional manager this morning that I needed to get a lawyer, while I was dropping off our rent payment for August with my landlordI spoke to a lawyer friend for some legal advice because I don't know what to do Regards, V [redacted] B [redacted]

*** ***Revdex.comUpstate South CarolinaNorth Church Street Suite CGreenville, SC 29601 Dear Ms***: In response to complaint ID: *** The complainant entered into a lease with Poplar Place Apartments on 4/21/A new lease and addendums have been
signed every year since 2010. Our Bed Bug Addendum was signed on 2/20/by the complainant. The complainant was treated for Bedbugs on 10/4/at the owner’s expense. We have documentation from the pest control company dated 10/21/that the apartment was inspected and found to be bedbug free. The owner paid $for this treatment and no cost was passed onto the residentOur bedbug addendum states that we can charge the resident for any reasonable cost incurred by us to treat the dwellingAs with other occurrences of bedbug infestations on the property, the owner pays for the first treatment and if another occurrence happens the cost is passed on to the residentAs we are not a government subsidized property, even HUD guidelines clearly state that the owner may charge tenants for the cost of treating bedbug infestations The complainant states that we refused to cancel the treatment but also states that “bedbug bites can become inflamed and cause major infections. Our bedbug addendum that the complainant signed clearly states that they must cooperate with us to treat and eliminate the bedbugs While we understand that the complainant does not own the apartment, the owner cannot keep incurring charges for bedbug treatments in the leased apartment due to the negligence of the complainant We would like for the complainant to pay the landlord for the treatment incurred to us in the amount of $within the 30-day time frame given to the complainant Respectfully, C*** R***Regional Manager

We have received the complainants rebuttal in reference to complaint ID: *** As previously stated, we have documentation from the pest control company stating that during the re-inspection on 10/21/no bedbug activity was foundOur maintenance staff was present with the employee from the pest control companyThe complainant first report of bedbugs was on 10/4/in which she stated that her son had been at his cousins house and since he came home they were getting bitten. She thought she had fleas The neighbor the complainant is referring to was treated on 8/31/with minimal activity recorded in her unit. If the complainant started seeing bedbugs immediately after the neighbor being treated why were we not notified until 7/7/2017-almost a year laterWe received a written list of repairs needed from the complainant on 2/1/and there is no mention of any bedbugs being seen in her apartmentThe flooring in the entire apartment was replaced on 2/28/and no presence was found. The flooring installers would not have installed the floors if there was a presence of bedbugs The policy we have in place and the recourse we are taking is what every resident at the property is subject to and in accordance with the lease and bed bug addendum she signed. We have been contacted by an attorney for the complainant so we feel that the complainant has removed herself from this forum of resolution

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.
My husband and I signed a new lease Feb 2017, after already being treated for bedbugs once, and our landlord knowing we still had an active infestation because of the first treatment failingI was home all day on October 21st to wait on pest control for re inspectionThey never came into my apartment, and I never signed anything stating that they came because they did not show up! Sometime in September of our neighbor (right next door) had her apartment heat treatedIt was after that we started seeing bedbugs in the cracks of our ceilings, and cracks of our baseboardsBed bugs travel! Our apartment was treated in October, and I then notified the landlord to let her know there were still live bugs on the walls and ceilingsWe have units in our apartment buildingOnce a person has bedbugs all apartments in the same building should've been treated! They were not, and have yet to be treatedPeople here are going to continue having problems with bedbug infestationsMy husband and I are now being accused by the regional manager of bringing the bedbugs into our apartment, which is ridiculous! We don't travel, we have followed all steps prior to treatment, we are organized, clean people, we have no clutterThey're coming through the walls, and if other people's units aren't being treated, they'll continue coming into other families apartments. I want nothing more than to be treated fairly, and for management here as well as the owner to understand the issues we're havingMy husband and I cannot pay for the pest control treatment, we stressed that before pest control came outYes, my daughter has had reactions, and is going to continue having reactions if the bugs continue coming through the walls after treatment! It's pointless to treat one apartment if there is still an infestation underneath us, beside us, above us, or even across from us! Instead of understanding that, the landlord and regional manager want to blame usI feel that they should list these apartments online as being infested with bedbugs, so future residents can be aware of what kind of mess they're getting into!
Regards,
V*** B***

I've provided emails, showing that I told them we couldn't pay for pest control. I asked them to cancel, as we had other options to handle the bed bug problem ourselves.

a/c broken 3rd time in 4 months ; wetness and possible mold ignored(1) I have tried to get the air conditioner fixed several times now. The first two times, it took about 2 weeks each. This last time, at my urging on Thursday morning, a maintenance man came out and refilled what he said was leaking coolant, but it has gone right back to pumping out warm air again already, and the apartment is very humid and cannot get below 75-80 degrees during the day. On hotter days (with 95 degree temps), it was getting to be more like 85 and humid inside.(2) Also of serious concern, I have complained several times about wet spots in walls, in the floor, and suspicious spots in the bathroom and on the floor in the hallway that look like they could be mold. Each time, it has either been shrugged off with an "I don't know" or simply ignored (it has been a week since requesting attention to the spot in the hallway). There are several areas where floors and walls display evidence of moisture, and I'm very concerned about health issues, as well as whether I'm going to be charged for these damages when I move out, despite having tried to report them regularly throughout the time that I've lived here.Desired SettlementI would like the wetness in the hallway and the black peeling patch in the front bathroom investigated immediately.I would like the air conditioner fixed for good, and until then, would like daily attention to the coolant levels if it really is leaking.
