Purrfect Auto

Review: On the company website it clearly state that they provide a FREE 42 point safety check and that you don't have to get the repairs done by them. I spoke to 3 different managers/superiors and they told me that it cost 49.99. After showing them the advertising online they then told me that that promotion is only for certain vehicles. They told me if I print it out it will disclose that info at the bottom so I called my wife had her print it out and no where did it say only some vehicles. I spoke again to management. When asked what type of vehicles does that advertising refer to they told me "NONE".... "we can't do it for free"Desired Settlement: I drove 30 mins out of my way each direction specifically based on what they were advertising on their company website. I would like a phone call from them scheduling a time to get my 42 point safety inspection done on my vehicle.

Review: My wife, [redacted] went to Purrfect Auto Service to get our van smogged on March 31, 2015. They ran the test and the van failed. The manager told her that the engine light was on and that it would have to be fixed first. They charged her $75.00 to diagnose the problem on top of the cost to run the test. Then reported to her that it didn't pass due to the cadalic converter and transmission. They wanted another $700.00-$900.00 to fix the van. My wife informed them that I work on cars and she would get back to them. I took the van into a shop and was informed that the van did pass the emission test and said that Purrfect Auto Service failed to give the right diagones about the cadalic converter, (in 2009 the DMV passed a law on cadilic converters, however the one on the van 2006 was exempt from the new law), if the service person at Purrfect Auto Services would have looked at the converter, he would of seen that the converter was put on in 2006. Also there is nothing wrong with the transmission. Now, my problem is that Purrfect will not rerun the smog test or return my money. The engine light is no longer on and the car should pass.Desired Settlement: I would like them to rerun the smog test at no charge, refund my money and/or pay for another smog company to run the smog test. I would also like them to admitt that they were trying to cheat my wife out of money.

Review: Business accused me of making illegal modifications to my car because I have an aftermarket catalytic converter. They failed my smog check and flagged my car as "tampered" in the state smog system. I pointed out to them that the law to which they were referring doesn't apply to catalytic converters sold before 2009, and provided documentation showing that mine was installed in 2007. They told me they understood what I was telling them and still refused to check my car.Desired Settlement: I would like a refund and a retraction of the "tampered" status so that I can have my car smogged at another shop.
